Could well be. My guess is it's a temporary hold while the rules around being a retailer are worked through?

For whatever reason, it seems VF will not be answering WaV's request right now...... I think it's safe to assume, however, it doesn't involve the as yet unmade version with latch? The glowing reports will have to wait at least until then to have much credence.

Actually I think they were attacking Sam Reynolds with that BS....if it's the same thing I recall.

Personally I find the current bold line to have racial/cultural overtones I consider somewhat offensive, and surely not necessary or even useful to the discussion of this interesting vape.

I don't think it was Iwein they had in mind with the taunts of 'millions of flags' and the rest. I think they were aimed directly at "Miss Shoulders of Coldness".

I agree, such actions only detract from their credibility in the end. They aren't helpful in most cases? Since their reports seem to lack objectivity I'll wait for reports I feel I can trust more.....and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Don't attack products or companies. Insults are not permitted even if they're deserved or crossed out.
It kinda sucks when the fotm/sota portable vape is brought to the world by amateurs that don't know how to cultivate their marketplace's rabid early adopters and end up alienating them instead.

Personally I am hoping for the best but their is a feint whiff of impending disaster with this thing. I decided to play with a flashvape stage 2 for a while and stay on the sidelines eating popcorn.

I kinda took that as a compliment. :cool:

But you're right in that they did slam sam as well.

Yeah I reported it (I don't mind admitting) before they changed it, it was a direct taunt at lwien, mentioned him by name, in the signature. Not cool.

No, there was one last night stating something like "lwien is god of the interwebs... blah, blah, blah". Can't remember the entire thing. Anyway, I hope to never see them around here again and I know I am not alone.

Excellent point. I think it's very important for us to remember this is about the unit, not the manners or attitudes of those who might profit from it at the moment.

Our goal here should be, I think, to cut through all the BS to provide solid, objective information good folks can base important decisions on. The is recreation for some, very serious business for others, but it's important to all who come here I think?

I guess I missed that part......and glad of it. The rest was entirely enough for me. Absent an attitude adjustment I too vote 'good riddance' I guess.

I was going to actually post I see a ban coming but thought better of it. They are very immature and I think that was the issue. This still says something about DV if they in deed got a new protype. After putting in the mouth piece in a strange manner that nobody would have done even without reading the instructions why would you give them another unit. There are far better people to let review it.

I would like to call lwein god/king of the interwebs from now on cause it is a great crown. lwein=KOTI:bowdown:
Sam handled them well and I stayed out of it cause besides from not feeding the trolls I wouldn't have been nice which would have cost me a point or a ban something I wasn't willing to do.

Now as far as info that might be true or not. They said that DV made a tighter seal so it sounds like, if it was real, that the latch is no longer which would be good I think. I also recall dv saying they were playing with a seal of sorts an o-ring maybe. I dunno but that could have solved the air leakage issue.

Good riddance VF.

Uhh I will help bring it back on topic. Lets do an AMA style about the ascent... sooo Ask me Anything about the ascent and I will try answer.

So far my biggest issue is remembering to put it on the charger. Only once have let the discharge enough that I could not use it though... so it is not a big issue. I think part of the reason why I am not so judicious about putting it on the charger is the fact that the battery seems to last awhile.

Hi, Slightly Medicated

I have a question, if I may: I like pretty high temperatures when vaping. How long do you figure the batteries would last if I kept my sessions at...say...210C/410F? I realize that this is putting a lot of strain on the batteries.

On another note, I HAVE to learn how to do that tie knot!...very cool:rockon:.

Actually is it my go to portable now. I find it works it's way into my pocket very naturally before I leave the house... much like your keys or cellphone.

I like it in the upper temp range too. I start around 410 and jump to 430 for the rest of the session. I have not taken the time to really add up the minutes but I have some averages. I get around 7-9 sessions on a charge. The average about 10-15 minutes. If I had to guess I would say a couple hours of constant use at the upper temperatures is not out of the question. I could probably last an entire day on one charge away from power.

would you buy it on performance alone, i personally find it very ugly?

The only question that I really have that I believe you could answer is related to WakeAndVape's comment about how he got on a train and just from carrying the Ascent people around him could easily smell it. So I guess my question is: Is the Ascent super smelly compared to other portables or is it comparable or even lesser so?

I actually am really fond of the aesthetics. In terms of performance/price it is up there as one of the best for my needs. If I did not like the aesthetics I would still want it for the proformance.

I find that smell is relative. I can smell all portables during and after use. I had mine on a train this last weekend and no one noticed:

I had not used it recently so it was cooled down.

If I had to guess they said it works similar to the DV so it will be very smelly if that is the case. I think the DV smells more then all my vapes unless the others are really dirty. My INH is right behind it but that is because it is barely every spic and span clean.

That I don't know. I don't plan on opening it up to find out. Not a big modder, so I would rather send it in and pay to have the replace the battery... I am not sure what type of battery replacement service they will offer if any. Will ask about that ;)

Got any oils on you at the moment, I remember someone saying it was light wispy vapor. Could you please try vaping the oil while the unit is plugged in and see if you get better results? Thanks in advance :tup:

SM, what would you say about the Ascent's efficiency as far as how much herb it goes through to get your desired effect? I liked my Pax, but didn't like how much herb it went through.
