It looks like there might be a groove on the other side... Maybe its just a glare. Its hard to tell. I considered buying that at one time. But they don't offer it in a female joint so I never did.
I could see it being hard to find the nail if you were looking down trying to hit it.

or I guess you could just lower the nail, but then the glass would get hotter
I personally like my nail as high as possible in the dome, and have found only the adjustable nails to satisfy in that regard. Also, I think the counterweight is an unnecessary blockage in the airpath, I opted for a longer shaft to provide stability.
I can't speak to the safety or quality of that product, but experience tells us that websites of that type are not exactly reputable when it comes to honestly representing their products. As it has been stated, that dinky little "legitimate" nail should cost 19 bucks, but this is the wacky world of weed prices we're dealing with.

That outter dome looks like glass but they say it's polycarbonate. Tis weird but definitely interesting!

Well not wanting to bash the product .. but i think i would have hard time aiming at that whole for dab #2 .. also it made mess by pulling it out.. some of the oil that was still on the tool met the wall

I'm trying to find instructions for a DIY rig made from household objects or hardware store items.
I have a ton of concentrate and no way to ingest it (that I find acceptable)! Surely there is a way...?

or you can pick up a rig for under $60 usually in the cheap quality bubbler thread, but other than knives i know of no homemade nail.
do you know how to do knives? with oil i like to use a mix w/ herb so it runs less, my two cents

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a safe way to ingest your concentrates safely using household/hardware store items. It can easily be done for smoking or vaporizing flowers but concentrates... well they're a whole different beast. I don't think that I'd be comfortable heating and inhaling off of anything not glass or grade two titanium at the temps necessary for flash vaporization. It would either catch fire, break, or put off harmful chemicals.
Surely there is a head shop near you that has some cheap $20 or $25 concentrate bats/one-hitters. Hell a gas station free base pipe would even get the job done.
If you're going to drop money on shit, you might as well invest in a little rig and do it right. Or mix the concentrates with some herb or kief like Bob Loblaw recommended.

I go to a head shop about once a month over in Santa Rosa. How can I recognize which pipes will work for concentrates, and which are one-hitter vs. more than one hitter (is it just bowl size)?

I have lots of wax - shatter, budder, crumble, honeycomb, etc. I'm only interested in cheap pipes, sorry if I wasn't clear (I have a Persei that I plan to use for my concentrates once I get a part I need for it). This "bat" thing sounds promising, but if it's small and made of glass, how do you keep from burning yourself, and can you get one big enough to hold more than one hit's worth at a time? Price range - definitely less than $50.

I can't find a picture... But they're basically a small glass one hitter with a lip on the end that you heat with a torch and dab on, the lip is similar to one on a birdhouse dome. I've also seen really cheap ones that are small, straight glass tube with a paddle shape on the end that you dab on, but I can't remember the name. You can get also dome and nail pipes for around $50.

go get a 10-15 dollar crack pipe and a 15-25 dollar torch.

Thanks Bob, all good info. I am the proud owner of a $30 torch already, so that's done.
My ignorance knows no bounds... sorry, but I have no idea what a crack pipe looks like. Viewed from a certain perspective that could be seen as a good thing
but I am curious.

if you already got a torch and are looking for a glass piece, check the cheap quality glass thread, the colie glass thread or the oregon glass blower thread.
if just looking for a crack pipe, you might want to ask for an "incense holder"

I have one that looks like the one pictured, just not with "USA" on it. Got it with a dome purchase, and its a cheap ebay one.
No complaints, works fine, hasn't oxidized, I'm still breathing.
Grade 2 is grade 2. amirite? No health risks here.

I don't dab often and grade 2 is grade 2 as long as they aren't lieing.
