I think it would be really fucking cool if Magic Flight offered previous customers (atleast those who ordered directly from the site) a nice promo on the special edition LB's. There's just no way in hell im buying a 2nd one, unless it was like 1/2 off since im a valued customer (in my own honest opinion).

I bought a walnut LB, and didn't mind paying full price. I also kinda need more than one LB because I need quick access to my medicine, in more than one place.

Holy.. what be this?

http://www.magic-flight.com/phauk1.php

Since, I apparently am the first to post, I get to say it... what the phauk is up with this thing. The description appears almost purposefully lacking in details. My eyes tell me its bigger, rounder, and has no battery or button visible from above. It's not a joke is it?

Its worth a shot. The list filled up a while back, but I know a lot of people have pulled out, since then. So spots do open up, from time to time.

Won't hurt to get your name in. I put in for it, shortly after they announced and got on, pretty quickly, even during the initial rush.

As reality kind of sets in, the closer gets, I think some have cold feet.

Hey guys! I'm going on a trip this weekend and I'm planning on bringing my launch box. I had a few questions about batteries and chargers that I'm sure has been answered in this thread but the amount of pages is very daunting to look through.

I have 4 stock MF batteries but since I may be away for an outlet for some time I was looking around the house for a few more batteries to try to save money. I have a few Duracell NiMH 2450mAh's and I'm pretty sure I can use them in the box after ready the FAQ at MF but I was wondering, can I charge them in the MF charger? Also, the Duracells came with a charger and since it fits 4 batts can I use that rather than my MF charger?

Thanks!

Yes to both. Those Duracells are HSD batteries, though. They'll lose a significant percentage of their charge after a couple of days. The stock MF batteries are LSD and will hold most of their charge for months.

Thanks Pak. So it's safe to say I should charge them (Duracell) the night before and use them first to get the biggest charge?

If the Duracell charger is a quick charger, it will degrade the life of your batteries. I had an energizer 15 min charger for a while and while it was quick and convenient to use in the car, the batteries only lasted a few months. The ones I've used with a 'smart' charger lasted much longer.

I have used those duracell 2450s and I loved them. There is an energizer version too. I am still using the energizers maybe 9 months later.
The energizers are 2300 mah but still work just fine

Ah, hehe. Tis pretty.

sydnee, coffee grinders can do any amount of herb perfectly. grind less...it's chunky. grind a ton...it's powder with gobs of surface area. I'm with skippy. Grind up a bunch. Stick in containter. Stir and air out some. Some might say you break down and corrupt sacred chemicals in the herb by running them through a machine and doing to much at once. But I say surface area equals more vapor. And by making it into a powder and letting it air out over a week or so, you get some nice dry herbs to work with.

im with JDR but with some reservations. i used a coffee grinder and totally got powder in return, which led to some HUGE CLOUDS! but at the expense of my first flight box. when the matter you put in is as small of particles as KEEF then it seems to clog the bottom of the screen.

over time i made this worse by trying to hot-clean the box with ISO, over time making a nice thick blockage that couldnt be removed and had to be returned for a warrantee box

i found the best best thing is coffee grind half and hand grind the other half and mix them together

MF used to sell the LB by itself at a point, maybe you could shoot them an email and ask for that if you are really into getting one.

That would make sense except then you would have two pretty different sized particles when mixed and you won't be able to get an evenly vaped trench. The way I understand it (I could be wrong) is that you want similar sized pieces of herb so that they all vape evenly without burning the smaller pieces, since the smaller surface area would make them be finished quicker. With an even load of tiny particles, they get used up quick, but you get huge hits of vapor with no burning if done correctly.

Anyway, cheers! Best wishes.

Speaking of using a coffee grinder, I've noticed that when I get a super-fine grind like that, I get a lot more particulate matter in the stem of my LB. Does this mean I've got too fine a grind that the teeny tiny pieces are just going thru the mesh of the screen? Similarly, if I'm getting particles in the stem, am I also increasing the amount I'm inhaling into my lungs?

Thanks in advance!

No doubt about it. How important that is I'm not sure. To a certain extent we live in a dirty world. We breathe dirt, dander and all manner of debris in all the time. At modest levels our body deals with it just fine, at least for healthy folks. It's when you load up LOTS of mineral stuff (like rock dust in miners) this becomes a serious issue. More so when it's really nasty stuff your body can't 'shake off' easily like some asbestos fibers are involved. Plant material, OTOH, is less an issue.

Best avoided, of course, but I don't fear it all that much.

Not to be a debbie downer, but if your grind is so small it goes through the screen... Well thats really really small. REALLY small.

RD, ive not had any problems with my box, and it's seen herb, straight kief, bubble hash, and ive even vaped some ABV ISOhash and CO2 extracted oil, albeit the last two were on some rolling paper on the box and something i dont recommend.

Do you brush it regularly? I brush the screen everyday it seems and ISO clean it around 2x a week out of personal preference... Although i have gone a week or two with neither. Another thing, and i dont mean to offend, but how's the quality of your material? Ideally, you would want it to be "bone dry" and finely ground.

Yeah, I use the espresso setting, which is 2 clicks from full blast. Turns it to a sandy texture, but not so fine, it goes thru the screen. In fact, since I stated grinding, curing that way (which was the same time I received a warranty replacement)... there is next to nothing, in regards to build up, on my box. Not even under the screen.

Cleanest box, I've had... all because of grind and cure.

My coffee grinder is a relatively inexpensive one that only has one setting. Maybe I'll lay off the button a bit & try not to grind it so finely.
