Just learn to make it brother. Save your money. You'll actually conserve like crazy.
I live in an apartment. Butane is out of the question, even if I were willing to put in a lab hood. I was toying with the idea of making some bubble hash for a while, but as I remember from (way) earlier in this thread, there's so much plant particulate left that it clogs the ceramic and requires frequent cleaning. Maybe I'll look into ISO extraction to see what's involved, but I'm really liking Pure Gold, and from what I've read about the company, they do a good job. Better than I could ever do.

Not much of a hardship for me to visit my friend in LA every once and a while, and bring back a gallon or two...

An update on my having too much fun with my new dart. As always, I've read all the instructions and decided to do it my way. Since the dart nub isn't being used by me with my thin vials of PG (rather OFs hot needle method), I put the dart away and just use an extended delrin mouthpiece. I tried my ptfe shorty, but it's a little too close to the rev core for my lips liking. Tried it with and without a UFO in the end of the mouthpiece; can't discern any difference.

The SV revo with PG is like a go cart or an old lotus elan. Instant response. I've taken to loading the ceramic with two BIG drops, turning the heater on for five seconds, which causes the PG to be absorbed, then dropping two more BIG drops on the ceramic, and heating it again just long enough for the PG to be absorbed. This is what I am thinking of as "a load". Might be able to put another two BIG drops in, but I haven't tried, and I believe OF when he says more than four is courting disappointment.

So with a fresh load of batteries, which last mostly forever compared to using them to vape botanicals, I can get eight brain damaging hits out of one load. And since a whole preheat-inhale-smile cycle only takes maybe 30 seconds, one set of batteries is good for many, many loads. And because the cycle is so short, and the effects of PG are so strong, you take less hits "in a row", and it doesn't get hot like the T1/Evo does. Wheee!

Now I gotta figure out how to modify one of my extra Evo Delrin Insulating Sleeves to cover the Dart version of the Revo core. Say that 5 times fast.

I can literally go from flower, to see threw, amber shatter, ready to be hit, in 20 min. Unless i have to de-hydroxides, then add 10 min. I got that shit down to a science, i personally choose iso only.
That's impressive. Would you by chance happen to have a guide with some pro tips to share with us? I sure would appreciate one.

I have really been enjoying the LV Rev DART system with my Persei...It's definitely a beast performer that I'm glad to have in my main lineup. I take a lighter to the Dabber tip for a few seconds to heat it up just enough so that my concentrate sticks to it. I then heat the core up for about 15 seconds until I see it glowing fierce red and insert the dabber into the Revolution. Nice quick, thick hits with superb flavor every time. Loving this setup!

I would never Spray butane on my flowers unless i had a 1000 dollar vacuum purger. Alcohol i can watch disappear. Worst case, there just isn't one, alcohol cant survive at room temp never mind a double boiler, and shit if i drank, i probably would be having a beer while concentrating, so I'm not scared of alcohol. Sense your concentrate is so pliable, Maybe try one of the actual e-cig carts for it, aside from a cart designed for shatter. Im not sure if that will work depending on the bass of you concentrate, these guys on here will pitch in. My end result, if i was to drop it on the ground, it would shatter into pisces.

Yes i can give you the very few steps. Both extraction methods are very easy when your used to it. Once you get the learning curve, and timing down, you will be good to go. I usually only take 2 grams at a time worth of flower, extract, and in my LV dart it will last a couple days. Unless im milking it of coarse. When i started i was using way larger amounts of flowers which just made me blast threw it faster, and its more to work with so you cant be as fast. I only leave my flowers in the iso for 6 seconds tops on the first pull.

Could you elaborate somewhat? In a lab, or ..?

In my kitchen. Is it cool to post the steps to this in here is my question, OS where are you? It really is simple. I gotta run out for a few now but ill put a step by step for you. Get coffee filters and iso 91%-99% Higher the better.

Evry1concentrate,
Im pretty frustrated here, I burnt my two dart cores last night. I don't get it, this is 3 of these indistructable cores that I have killed in 2 1/2 months. My initial though was a bad adapter, so I tried to kill a Chinese atty' with it , but no go, the adapter is fine. Is my AW IMR 18650 to beefy for these cores? OF I'm looking your way...

Most the time with liquids and really thin concentrates I wont use the DART loader either, ill run the extended or the Rev window mouthpiece. The extended mouthpiece with UFO also works pretty well and will stop any splashing from thin concentrates.

I usually just treat thin stuff like an e-fluid, small frequent reloads keeps flavor great and long lasting.
Cheers,

Tim

No thoughts right off, but it's strange to me that the 'abnormal' failures are happening far away. I'm still trying to understand how the fellow in Greece had dual DOA heaters.

I seriously doubt it's the battery's fault. Even running IMR 18650s is done 'all the time'.

How much are you using them? How many grams are they vaping before dying? Have you sent any of the dead ones back for inspection? Last time I asked (a while ago) there were no real abnormal returns. Folks recalled a single dual coil failure, but couldn't recall the details. The first step, I think, has to be to find the root cause of the failures. Anyway, have you sent any back?

Otherwise, I'll have to think a bit I guess?

That's OF-speak for "I'm gonna get high now.....leave me alone"

I'm available for hire to translate other OF posts at a very reasonable cost if anyone is interested.

By the length of time here he must be watching the sun set in his garden. Hmmmm, IO in hand with some bubble in the center? Or a REV evening?
Stu, do you do Klingon too?

I'm guessing garden+sunset too as the timing is about right. We've got some nice weather these days in California. Not sure about the wrench he's using, but that's not as important as looking at the sunset, and reminding yourself that you'll finally get that weeding done.... tomorrow.

I don't speak Klingon, but I've dated a few.

Thanks guy, I guess we will see I'm sending all 3 back and Tim said he would check em out. Neither of them saw an extreme amount of use. Usually every other week they would see their duty, 1-2 loads a day, a couple evenings out with heavy usage. I'd like to think im not careless with my tools, but am open to accept fault if needed. I remember KT had a problem way back related to adapter's(?)...wonder if this is related?
My frustration is more about not knowing why they are dieing, I have suitable alternatives fortunately, so when a man goes down another steps up to the plate, and my day doesn't really get hampered.
Enjoy your evening OF

What adapter do you have?

Pipes,
D-9, and haven't had a problem with them. Could a temporary fault happen? I tested them with 1.5 ohm atty's after, and it survived a little session.

I'm not familiar with that PA. Do you have the specifications? And if it's regulated?

That's good news, hopefully there's a clue there for us, I'll try to 'connect' with Tim on this end and see if I can get a peek inside as well.

I doubt you and KT have the same issue, his was mechanical IIRC, it caused the socket in the Persei to fail, not the loads. It lead to the new style 'bombproof' heads. I don't think you can hurt the cart from the socket end without destroying the insulator bushing under he center contact, leading to a short not an open. IIRC he was using the TV adapter, could be wrong there. I've never seen the D9 adapter, but assume it's up to the job.

Thanks for the kind wishes, but without even consulting you (my bad....) I went ahead and 'winged it'....doing exactly that. Took the trusty Vapman out for a little quality time, had a nice dinner and quiet evening. Stu is sharp, isn't he? Still not spot on, though, I don't think it's time for him to quit his day job......yet.

Thanks for the info.

Hey you guys, anybody know an alternative to replacing the oring on the Dart? Mine is getting eatin and little particles of the rubber are ripping off. It's not a good look. Can I just go to any hardware store and get the same size oring?
