Does anyone know how big the batteries in the solo are?

I think I remember that it uses two 18650's but does anyone know if they are 2000, 2500, 3000mah etc?

I know they aren't easily replaceable but I'm sure you could wire bigger batteries in for an upgrade without too much trouble...

Its in the Wiki my friend!

"Power Source

The Solo uses an internal Li-Ion rechargeable battery. The stock charger takes approximately 4 hours to go from completely exhausted to full charge. Depending on the temperature setting, a charge lasts 3-4 hours.
The Solo cannot be used while charging; however, Ariser is selling a separate AC adapter that powers the Solo without charging the battery. A device to permit use of a car charger is planned.
Some users have tried to use a cheaper power supply with varying success. The substitute is a slim PS2 power supply that requires you to change its connector. One experimenter had the slim PS2 power supply overheat and melt down while plugged in but not in use, and another reported that it fried his Solo. A third owner reported success.
There is no battery level indicator; however, right after the unit is turned on the lights flash briefly to indicate the approximate remaining charge. To avoid running flat at an inconvenient time, you can leave the unit charging when not in use.
Li-Ion batteries do not have a memory, but each charging cycle depletes the useful capacity somewhat. This deterioration is unavoidable and permanent, and is accentuated in high-demand applications. The battery pack will therefore need replacement at some point. Because the pattern of use and re-charging determines the battery lifetime, it is not possible to predict how long it will last, but similar battery packs typically last up to three years with proper care.
After initial confusion, Arizer has clarified that users will be able to replace the battery pack. Arizer will offer a service for anyone who is not comfortable doing the replacement. The cost of battery replacement, including labor, is $95 plus taxes and shipping.
Rockwise has indicated it would sell the battery seperately. Additionally it was discovered from vapeplexus tear down photos that the battery is a Li-Ion 18650 7.4v 2200 Mah.
Amazon has that battery with Bare wires here: (connector would have to be cut and soldered to the new battery) Tenergy 2200Mah Battery
This replacement is currently unverified as their have been no reported battery failures on the forum yet.

Additionally it should be possible to put a larger capacity (2800Mah/2600Mah versus 2200Mah) battery in but again this is not verified. Proceed at your own risk. 2800Mah Battery
2600 Mah Battery
JST Connectors for the battery: JST Connectors"

The person whose unit shuts off. Contact arizer not your reseller. Any reseller that charges for a warranty repair is not a retailer I would ever do business with. Still bizarre since Arizer will repair for free...

and I can't play Xchadb's video either for the same copyright error is occurring.

Hi, had strange problem on new model where the blue light keeps flashing after switching it off. Im guessing fault?

Might be my fault though because I tried using a universal adapter - a 12v and 9v power supply but it didn't have enough mA. Bad decision?

Also, I made mistake of not charging it when I first got it, just used it right away. then it wouldn't charge at all and flashing blue light etc, so in a fit of slight annoyance, and not wanting to return my second faulty solo in 6 months, I unscrewed the case and removed battery. Charged battery with venom charger I use for RC car batteries, re-inserted, and now it seems to heat up. All well.

Further to that it seems the charger that came with this new model they sent me is not to be trusted. After using the charger, the blue light thing happens again, so I avoid the charger now and use the RC car charger. Yes, a hassle remove battery to charge the solo. Can't be bothered sending it back and probably voided warranty by opening it. although it's a basic plug to the battery so should be allowed.

How would Arizer know you opened it? And opening it SHOULD NOT void warranty due to the frequent maintenance required to open and clean out ABV. Arizer obviously never thought this through, otherwise maybe they should have put in an o-ring to prevent ABV from getting in there. This is gonna be VERY interesting for warranty purposes "internationally" because technically you are sending a form of marijuana concealed in the inside, even though it's flakes of ABV.

Has anyone with the battery bypass adapter had their Solo's shut down before the 12 min. timer? Shuts down in the same way, just sooner than it should. Maybe it was just my distorted perception of time!

I actually never turn my unit to its upright position when full for this reason. Even heating up, I hold it upside-down. Anyone else? I may be over-cautious, not sure. How often do you have to dismantle and clean? I've never opened the case. Was not planning on it, but now I'm contemplating taking a peek...

I hold it upside down for the first hit.. maybe 2.
I do this with my LSV, and with my Zaps also.
After I have taken the 1st vapor producing hit, I no longer worry, as the bud is glued in place by the heat.
I do, when using the Solo, act accordingly, and I do not unnecessarily tap or "jar" the stem, in effort to not drop any crumbs. This is more successful now that I have more firmly fitting stems.

Nic, have a look - it doesn't take long for it to get in there.

Vito, I've owned more solos and stems than I'd like to admit and no matter what all stems became loose. This newest M1D model it only took a day for them to spin freely. Wondering if it has to do with the temp settings effect on the Teflon ring.

if you're serious about keeping the loose stems from falling out you can always just have a hairtie or something similar wrapped around the stem then loop one end around the heater cover thus pulling the stem twords the body, i did it for a while with the shorty GONG stems, works pretty good when you have inexperienced users vaporbonging and dont know weather to pull the solo or the stem and end up breaking or spilling something

It will discharge very slowly if not used. That seems to be the nature of every battery I have known and used. About keeping it plugged in, it has been suggested that you don't. Once it is recharged, unplug - or weird things may happen.

I know that you crossed out your words, but i've been doing a bit of googling and noticed that it's probably better to keep it plugged in even while fully charged? The new Puffit vape says that as well, when not in use - to plug it in. Not only does it seem not to harm it, but it actually keeps the battery conditioned better.

After my fully charged solo was put away last night (no use, just wanted to keep it topped up), I just tried plugging it into the charger. It blinked green for not more than 5 mins before it went solid. The discharge happens quicker than I thought. Then again, this is a brand new battery and hasn't seen any real use. I am under the impression that the battery life improves with a bit of charging and "conditioning".

You are right! I crossed it out because I got confused with another rechargeable vaporizer..and I forgot which one.

If the AC adapter slips out enough for it to lose connection the solo will beep and shut off just like it does for the auto or manual shutoffs. I know because this happens to me multiple times per session whenever i use that god damn AC adapter, which is why i dont use it as much as i thought i would when i originally ordered it. It doesnt need to slip all the way out, by any means. It varies from model to model too, ime. my ceramic m104 didnt have much problems with AC adapter slipping out, but it slips out of my m105 replacement just from the weight of the cord, just a fraction of a millimeter, just enough that it shuts off. arizer sent me a new AC adapter for free and it does the same thing on this solo. the plug for the charger stays in tho, i've never had it slip out enough to lose connection, i can even tug on it and it wouldnt come out unless i yanked it hard.

I would email arizer about this and see if they'll send you a new charger. It seems to clearly be whats at fault and I doubt they cost them that much that they would mind sending you out one for free. That seriously sounds like a pain in the ass having to open it up and take the battery out every time you need to charge. Also I'm sure it will make you put off charging longer and go for full depletions, which, iirc, arent really so good for this type of rechargeable. I plug mine in every night before bed.

Just noticed that after two weeks of regular use, both of my stock stems have hairline fractures parallel to the direction of the stem. Neither effect performance, and neither can be felt. Surprisingly, neither are on the seam either. Has anyone else noticed this? Oh well, I have new stems coming from both PV and Ed, so these two were about to be retired anyway...

Vito, I know how shipping runs to your place so I expect you to see your piece today! Eagerly await you sharing your experience!

To everyone else that ordered, you all should start to see pieces show today, tomorrow, and the next day. Some will see a week to 2 weeks being all over the world. I cant express how big a week this is for me at Ed's TnT and how big a deal this is to hear from you all ASAP! I appreciate you all and your honesty and all feedback.

I guess I'll get it later then others but hopefully not more than a week (UK took 6 days) !!!

I'm loving my new Magic Rude Boy 5mm glass!!! all credit goes to J.J.R since it pretty much illegal to send bongs to my country...I could have had it taken away by customs...
Anyway, it works very very well with the solo...I'm getting tasty and nice clouds! and loving the water vaping more and more each day.

DUDE! Nice vid!! Super nice clouds and the soundtrack was sick!! Is that just a straight Solo stem pushed into a 14mm connection? How is the seal?

yeah it is! thanks man move vids to come please subscribe!

it is, i have a GONG stem, but it provides such a tight seal that it makes using that bong a lung buster! the "almost" airtight seal allows a little more give but milks up just fine and it makes for a much easier draw

Maybe try a newer Solo? My a/c adapter is pretty snug... I just tried pulling/tugging on it and couldn't get it to lose contact until I yanked firmly. No problems with m107 or m1d. I think when i shut off I just lost perception of time, but am continuing to monitor it. I think on battery I just set it to 5, but it heated up to 6, but again it was one of those scratch your head moments and i'm not 100% sure.

ok i think im about to make the solo plunge to replace my DBV. i love my DBV, but ive got Hakko vapes that work as well or better so the DBV is expendable.

is PV still the best place to get them? what is the current latest model number? is is still m107...?

IMHO PV is the best place to get them or anything they have. Every single experience I have with them has been above and beyond. Good customer service can be hard to find these days.

PV has the latest - M1D
