I simply lift the lid of a jar a hair.. stick the tip in and blow (toward the jar inner wall).
I did chuckle, and "like" your comment here... because as a kid I did not go to school, and although I was "the scourge of the streets" I never knew what a "spitwad" was.. until I googled it.

I remade a video, from last month about Sunday.
I cartoonized it and added a soundtrack, meaningful to my life.

As usual, Vito brings a special glow to folks who get to share his stuff. A very real person with so many amazing stories.
I wonder how many of us know Vito was a professional dog trainer and taught Martial Arts in his younger years? Then he decided to take it easy and ran an ice cream truck around town bringing joy to so many kids and adults.
Then he got ran over by a truck while he was on the sidewalk. An uninsured truck at that. And then, and then........now he continues to share whatever it is God gave him full steam ahead.
Just goes to show you cannot keep a good man down and also shows the potentially infinite bounce back ability of the human Spirit.
Thanks again Vito. Today will be a special Sunday for us.

Vito, I just got back from taking my entire family to the airport as they are flying a long ways away for a week. I will miss them. Shit,,,I already do. Anyway, I was able to watch the video again while vaping with my zap. Kind of went with the mood. :leaf:

Hey everyone! Been using my Walnut CRZ for a bit now and am in need of some help. I can vape a stem (1/2 full usually), for 6-8 hits and it will still be green/very very light gold in the end. I can get high but I don't feel as if it is extracting fully... (also keep in mind my draws are around 20 seconds in length and VERY deep)

Any tips to vaping it hotter or getting a darker ABV?

@Elluzion. It's quite possible that your CRZ will ony take it so far. I have 2 zaps, a CRZ, and an old school brass zap. I love them both, but the CRZ just doesn't run as hot as the brass zap. I can completely depleat a load in my CRZ, that's several good pulls, blow it out crumble it further, reload and hit it until it won't give up any more vapor at all, then can hit the stem tip contents through the old brass zap, and still blow clouds. So you're not alone in thinking these things could run a bit warmer. But I don't think I would want it to a whole lot hotter. My old zap almost runs too hot. I usually don't want all of the sedatives that are released at the higher temps, I usually preffer the effects that the CRZ provides. I find that it leaves the sedatives in the stem tip and gives you the flavor and ALMOST all the love that your particular sample of herb can provide. As far as getting it to run hotter, you could get a 13.5V transformer and use it periodically, or you could try a koozie. I don't find it necessary, but to each their own.

I would try making that 20 second draw, a slower MORE controlled draw....
I describe this as leaning on the stem with your lungs.
I show folks this technique using a business card and a drinking straw.
hold the card on the end of the straw (or even use a Zap stem) for as long as you can using suction.... pulling directly with your lungs.
This will give you control to make that 20 second draw, longer and slower... so that hot air lingers more slowly past the herb it the stem tip!

Elluzion, the other thing I have found is that when I put one of those stems (that are still somewhat green) down and let them cool off, I'll come back and find a few more hits left in them. I'd swear they were cashed, but am always surprised that they aren't.

Very good tip from Vito and is also an official release of a Zap secret.
Much of the goodness is generated later in the pull. I have noticed more and more that keeping the airstream moving, slowly and at the same pace, will generate bigger clouds towards the end of the pull. That is why I like lung pulls, not in the mouth, then down the hatch. Straight down the hatch, the air hatch. Watch Vito with the long slow pulls. I like to use the 14mm tube to place the vapor flow at the back of my mouth, closer to lung intake. Then long and slow and easy.
If you try to milk a Zap like some of those free flowing, higher temp vapes, it just will not work properly. The airflow in a Zap is restricted by design to keep the heated air at a more constant temperature and keep the hits smooth and several degrees below combustion. I also find I can keep pulling and getting vapor much longer than one would think with such a small load.
Remember guys, slower is better in most cases. Ask the ladies, they know.
Older Brass Zaps could be running plenty hot, some almost too hot because of slight or heavy charring in the old design.

Had about 18 hours of no internet yesterday. We are always amazed how dependent we are on the internet being there for us. Unreal how both of us use it automatically for much of our day. Sure is good to have it back.

Thanks for all of the tips guys! I will definitely have to try out the business card trick and see how it goes.

The crazy thing is I can still get blasted with my herbs still being green (which is incredible to me), and it does leave a nice cleaner buzz, so maybe it is all for the better anyways.

I will try the slower more controlled draws and see if they change the herb color at all. May try a coozie too and see how it affects it.

Do any of you guys find that you dump the herbs and crumble half way through or do you just leave the initial goods and not grind down with your fingers? I was just curious if it helps/would change anything..

I usually don't. The few times I have it wasn't worth the effort. If the grind and dryness of the material is right, combined with a good packing technique, I can usually cash a stem without having to fuss with it.

I will add this; IMO, there are a couple of strains that do not vape well in the Zap (a few of the purples). I tend to steer away from those when I use my Zaps.

Mainly it depends on the distance between the candle and the water/oil. With these small tea light holders, trust me, there's no remaining water. I have another tea light holder where there's a longer distance and the water retains itself alot longer but the aromatherapy experience is lighter; more of a faint background thing, which is good too.

I get the black gunk also but I leave it as its infused with alot of the oil scent. Getting rid of the dripped wax is definitely more of a hassle, and it seems inevitable. One thing I've tried that works is I'll put the holder in the freezer for a while and then pry the wax off with the edge of a flat screwdriver.

I've seen these holders for a buck at the dollar stores on Jamaica Ave (never mind - forgot this is global) so one way or the other this is not a big deal...

If the holder is gunked up with, say, orange oil, would you not add a different essential oil to it? Cross-contamination if you will.

It's not hard to find the little copper caps that Rick uses for his aroma cups. I have several; one for each scent. But, it's no biggie if I screw up and mix them up. Sometimes, you hit on a new fragrance you like. ;) After a bit, they do get a little gunked up. I just take a q-tip and do a little swish right before the oil is completely dried solid again. It takes most of the residue out and I just start over again. The little 1/2" caps are inexpensive and can be found at most home improvement or hardware stores.

I've also found some oils leave more residue than others. Eucalyptus seems to "burn" the cleanest of the ones I've tried so far.

I do that all the time, mindfully. For instance orange and vanilla are a nice blend.
I'm very fire cautious so I have my aromatherapy setup on metal bases. it sort of looks like this -

Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I ordered the Mar 30 Ambrosia Maple RockZap a couple days ago and am very excited to start using it. One question I had- Can you vape hash? I get a couple different kinds, some melt, some don't. Should I be particular about which I vape?

All kinds of hash work in the rockzap, but if its really melty you'd dont want to put too much in.

Just need a buffer of herb and you can sandwich or top any stem off with any concentrate. You can also vape oil-stained cotton quite effectively with it.

Another big town day. Over to Spokane for farm supplies and a visit with the Glass God.
Picked up a few of those hand made inline bubblers. I will have them up in a day or so as I want to make a simple wood holder for them before we put them up on the website. Also stocked up on more glass Tooties as they seem to be getting popular.
