Personally I'd suggest avoiding vapir. I say personally because after my time with their products, it is my opinion that they are overpriced pieces of junk and hands down the worst buy. I hate their company and their products. Some people like them, but I find the people who tend to like them generally are people who haven't tried anything else to compare it too. I know it's all preference, but I absolutely hated vapir anything.

I too am watching the Solo with great interest, but will add, that I have used most vapes on the market, and I own a good number. The Vapir NO2, is great, and I use it often. Many MMJ patients in my community were allowed into my home over a long period, where they got to use a half dozen vapes ( I do not own any other Vapir product) Many chose the NO2 over other popular vapes, and many acquired multiple vapes... and all love their NO2s.
I look forward to making available the Solo in short order for my visitors to try! :)

Just got a search notice that the solo is avail on e-bay today for $299 from 3 online sources.
My point was once it hit e-bay it would be coming down in price and yes it can be found for $220 but not on e-bay yet. Soon the yet to be available accessories will become a part of the deal making.

I was wondering what everyone's favourite/most used temperature setting is? With a Silver Haze cross, I found setting 4/5 to work really well, but I can imagine preferring slightly higher temps with a strain that leans more towards indica. I also have the feeling the temperatures really match with the ones listed (would love to see this tested though, just out of curiosity)

I have used neither yet! My solo is to reach me any moment now!! And the NO2 is a few weeks away :) From my reading and talking to experts at FC though, I would expect the NO2 to be a great device.

Darkrom, just like you I have had quite a bad experience with vapir as the oxygen mini was my first vape and I hated it. From airflow being bad, to the meshes being a bitch to clean and maintain, to lousy power connectors, i could go on. However, when I looked at the NO2 closely, they seemed to have really worked on every thing that have been issues in previous devices. Though the plastic smell / gassing complaints keep cropping up, I feel they are mostly isolated incidents from some bad devices. My mini had a lil smell in the initial days, but it quickly faded off. So IMO i from what I have read, I would give Vapir another shot.

Now back to the topic at hand, the vape that is strongly competing to be the most efficient portable vape in the world, ladies and gentlemen, the Arizer Solo! :)

I just recieved my Solo today after ordering last Wednesday. Nice turnaround for $220/free shipping. I have to give it up for vaporizerforweed.net- I was skeptical and ready to cry foul if nothing appeared within a week, but damned if they haven't exceeded my expectations. I'm not asking any questions about the deal- it just roks!

I've given the Solo a cursory go and will try it properly later. For those wary of the $220 Solo, hey, it worked for me- 5 days is ridiculous- yaah! vaporizerforweed

Got my solo last Friday from greatvape within 48 hours after placing my order and I am loving this vape. Depending on the strain and how many people are in the session I set it between 4-6.

Over the weekend I got to compare the solo to my boys Vapir No2 and I can honestly say SOLO > No2 by a landslide.

Like everyone said there are minor cons with this unit but they are surpassed by all the pros.

Glad I did my research and thanks to everyone with their reviews before me because they are speaking the truth when it comes to the Arizer solo.

I was holding off until the price came down a little (and to hear more reviews), but I just pulled the trigger on that $220 deal. Thanks Empheiro for the hookup!

Reviews forthcoming as always.

Cheers!!

Stu,

Just wait till you get your Solo's.....

Great reviews are a coming I predict. This thing really does rock. I love mine and I've had it for almost 3 weeks now.
Yes I've noticed that different strains seem to do better with different temps. I usually start with a 3 but will bump that up to a 4-5 for some others. I love the option of changing the temperature....that is a HUGE difference in the portable vape world....oh and that all glass delivery stem means no plastic taste either. I can't speak for vapir.....but IMO most of what I've read about them haven't been so good. Biggest issue being that plastic taste....YUCK. Vitolo seems like the only one who's had some luck with his and he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I can't wait to hear his review of the Solo when he gets to try one.

If you are on the fence about getting a new vape and not sure which one.....The reviews are in and more keep coming. Get a Solo....you won't be sorry.

That $220 price is fantastic....the only thing that I DO WANT to know is "the warranty" issue? At the price and from that company is Arizer honoring a warranty?

I've got a feeling your not gonna regret it, CDS. I did mention FC in my communications with them, implying that kind treatment would not be unnoticed.

I've used the Solo for two sessions now, in two different scenarios- at home and in the car. In both cases, it has performed amazingly. As others have stated, the taste is about as pure as it is possible to get, ie, nothing but the product you've put in it. I've been using a fill that is approx 1/2 mflb trench or IV handkit and a heat setting of 4, going to 6 for the last couple of hits before the auto cutoff. Med fine grind (SC 2pc). The ease of use is greater than any other vape I have - mflb, kia, incognito, vg, mz. The 12 minute cycle keeps you more focused on completing a bowl in time, for better or worse. Much less fucking about with this and that. Of course, you can just turn it right back on and it heats up quickly

In the car? Yes! Perfect. No one has mentioned this, but as a commuter vape, this is the bomb! Very easy to fill and hit discreetly and the tiny cordless body fits nicely in the palm and cupholder. I used one little bowl this morning on the way in to achieve the optimal morning state. I couldn't be more pleased with my first Arizer product and look forward to using this little wonder daily.

This happens to me with every vape I have at some point and always throws me for a loop!

I guess I missed this somewhere, but does the Solo have a 100% all-glass air path? How 'bout inside the unit? I never cared about this before until trying the Cloud...now I respect it!

The Solo's stem reminds me of the glass stem with the Vapolution (? Is that the right one...that green thing marcus used to rave about a couple of years ago). That was the only 100% all-glass vapor path vape I can remember, since it didn't even use a stainless screen. I like that Arizer went that route, even if some or most users end up putting a screen in there anyhow.

Empherio you are so right the Solo is so perfect for the car. I used it on a car trip over the 4th of July and other times since. It stands up great in the cupholder and is fairly inconspicuous in your hand as you sip the glass straw. Its very easy to use so it's not a distraction either. The stem is easy to pack and really does make so little go so far. They already have a car adaptor available for 24.95 thru Rockwise. That would be handy to be able to charge my solo on the go.

Stickstones I believe it does have an all glass air path. The stem fits fairly snugly into the unit (but some have reported less snug fits) and other than the now bottom of the stem which is fitting against the ceramic heater your herb touches nothing but the glass bat. I have also started using a screen in my bat like others to prevent less particles in the the stem but you don't have to. The 2 holes in the fill area are very small and do a great job on their own but if you grind your product fine you seem to get better results and then a screen can come in handy.

The power adaptor which will let you use the unit at home but will NOT charge the battery is supposed to be available in 2-3 weeks according to a recent email from Rockwise. FYI

Happy vaping!

It is worth noting that I never used the N02, but after my experiences with vapir I'd probably never even try it...for free. Its very possible that they made ONE quality vape, but I will be avoiding them.

If you think the mini was bad... try the 5.0 UGH that thing isn't worth the shipping price.

I have to say that my solo is my favorite vape to use, but the MFLB will never ever ever be sold. It is unmatchable in stealth and speed. That being said if you don't need to be a ninja and just want portability, get the solo. Much stronger results IMO with way less herb. I honestly think that the 2 together have me 100% covered for vaping on the go. Any time I don't need to be super stealth the solo comes out. If I gotta be incredibly discreet (like IN a movie) I'd use my MFLB.

Since I got the solo I've only used my MFLB once and that was while I was out on my bike and didn't feel like carrying the solo. Hope that helps.

Thanks darkrom.Must say I'm leaning towards the Solo now.Got an SSV but it's hard to be discreet with that baby.I don't really need stealth but need to be a bit more discreet when we've got visitors.Could always just say FECK IT!!! and get 2 new vapes though huh?.

It's not 100% all glass air path: as for the Q the air comes from the bottom of the unit, travels COLD through its guts (electronics, wires etc..) and gets in the bowl and stem, where IT IS HEATED... So yes 100% glass HOT air-path, not 100% glass air-path...Right?
Please correct me if I'm wrong 'cause I haven't disassembled the Solo but I can see 2 wires in the air intake holes below the unit.

Kelblow go with the Solo. You won't be disappointed. MFLB is a cool simple vape as well but if I had to I would choose to spend the extra money towards the Solo. My ABV is alot darker with my Solo than it ever was with my MFLB. I haven't really even touched my LB since getting the Solo...other than to set it aside.

The Solo is going to be easier to use and more competitive, hit wise, with home units, but the MF is obviously smaller and more stealthy, so it really depends on your priorities. Even though they're both portables it's still a kind of apples and oranges comparison.

I've been checking regularly since it was announced but I just noticed the SOLO is available at Amazon!! The price is the same as everywhere else (unless you have a hot insider deal.) One selling is offering a free carrying case.
$270 from Rockwise or Greatvape ('Solo' code), both authorized dealers, or $220.99 from vaporizerforweed.net (15% off sale). The units on Amazon all appear to be from the same seller, with no indication they're an authorized dealer. There's really no point in buying for full price.
