The only thing that concern me about ION is that unit is just for 110-120V, i have converter 110-220V but nobody can tell how this unit will work with it.
i'm using the ion with a power converter and it works fine so far. but you must be aware that the converter needs to handle at least 350 watts. i don't know if it depends on the use of a converter, but i have a pretty long warm up time ~5mins. the zephyrvaporizers website says 2-3mins.
of course a 220V version would be nice :brow:

I go away for a week and IONs seem to be leaking all over the place.

There are a couple things that will make your ION leak and it is almost always the o-ring.
Heisenberg, I am sorry the ring was not in place when you took your unit out of the box. If it is inserted and seated properly there should be no leak.

Leakage from the o-ring may happen after extended use, if the ring gets warm and pliable. (to prevent this open the lid between bags)
Leakage from the o-ring may happen if the ring is dirty and not seated properly
Leakage from the o-ring may happen if too much biomass is placed in the basket. ( I fill the basket finely ground 3/4 of the way full to fill the 10 foot bag)

The other place a leak may occur is where the bag is attatched to the mouthpiece. There is a teardrop shaped grommet to fit the teardrop shape of a closed zip-tie,.. if those two teardrop shapes are not lined up proper, you may get some leakage.

The only other time I have come across leakage of any sort is when I exploded a bag or used the thing where a friends damn cat got after the bag.

220v Ion has been part of the plan from the get go, we are working on it.

When am I going to see the follow up Celebrity Endorsement and his Juju beads?

I am about to post a bunch off pictures from the high times doobie awards.

someone asked about the Zephyr Ion as a party vape,.....

this is less than 1g to fill this bag,.... 1 basket 3/4 full

(I know the sun shining on the bag helps the effect so I don't need to hear about it HAHAHAH)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlhUcr6sja0
I see Bruce in the video at 1:11... his signature hat and glasses gave him away.

FCUK! That bag is huge! I can't even imagine where I would find bags like that.

Double FCUK! That is uber efficient : 1g to fill a 10 foot bag, which gets like 10 heads in on it, is awesome.

PS - the chick at the end in the white shirt with the iphone sure is hot.

OK, spring break is over, the GF is gone, the ION comes back out of hiding, and is back in action... now on to a review of this fine unit.

PS - the rubber ring that sits above the basket keeps coming out of the white circle. Should the lip be pointed down towards the basket (which seems to make a very good seal with the basket) or pointed up (which seems to keep it in place better)? ...UP, right?

yes the lip should be pointed up. Make sure you open the lid between fillings so that oring doesn't get to warm and pliable. Another trick, take oring and screen out. Then put the oring back and then the screen. The screen should keep the oring in proper position.

that is exactly what I have found via trial and error. Opening the lid between fillings eliminates the problem of the O-ring slipping out of place. Not a leak since :)

Thankfully I have not had that issue but due to the helps tips such as opening the top between bags likely has paid off.

This is still my go to vape. I have to say that felt using a bag would be a unnatural feeling to me but I have not had that problem at all.

I am so enamored by the Zephyr I have loaned at out my sacred DBV until someone receives their vaporizer. Actually, I am thrilled that I can do that now, let someone use a vaporizer until they receive theirs and to be able showcase the varied vaporizers first hand. Wish I had this capability earlier as I do not discuss the vaporizer as often as I did before as our group is not very large and now largely depends on new people that would be interested. Still, it is a great service and has actually made me feel good by being able to help those who would otherwise not be able to do this and/or would have great difficulty doing it.

Hehe, a few months ago they gave me a cake and a nice certificate award for helping people, the people in our support group. To all those who contribute here, that is in part your honor too.

So I think I'm on my third month of owning my Zephyr. Still really loving it..

I ran short on bags recently, so I grabbed a turkey cooking bag from the kitchen.. Works great as a temp solution, the sides of the bag start to stick after a couple uses... But the Ion filled that huge bag FULL. Fantastic!

One bag will last you anywhere between 2-3 months, I think, according to Bruce, and he said he uses his every day. Yours may last longer or shorter depending on use.
The residue that causes the inside of your bag to stick is not soluble in water. You can't just rinse it in the sink because the oily residue is only soluble in alcohol, so you would need to use a chemical or ethanol or high quality vodka / grain alcohol, to clean the bag... however, I would advise against trying to re-use a bag after you have used ethanol in it. You can swish some alcohol around in there to reclaim some of that residue for using later, but I wouldn't inhale off that bag again... it might cause your next bag to taste nasty, or you might get those chemicals in your lungs. :ko: Just get some replacements.

ps. But if you try it let us know! :)

From what I heard last from Bruce, which is also repeated on the company website, they should be shipping in the spring. That sounds like a pretty big window, but I can say the company has just recently put a sign-up form on their website to be notified that the whips are available, and anyone who bought one without a whip will get one ...free of charge! No idea what the hold up is, and no point speculating unless Bruce tells us something.

@ Bruce, I'm thinking about making something professional looking, in a video format, maybe if it looks good enough, you can convince someone to put it on your website :D ... Any suggestions from the staff on what they want?

I am just curious how easy it was to retro fit the turkey cooking bag to the valve/mouthpiece? Was it easy to fit it?

Hello Everyone,
Back from HASH Bash,... what a great time. I will post about that under the hash bash post I created before...

stinac :
The bag can be used till it becomes too sticky inside to fill properly. I would not advise washing or reusing the bag. I would, however, advise that after a bag is too sticky to use, you run a high grade consumable alcohol though it to reclaim your oils. They are, IMHO ,the best part. (*best = strongest in this situation)

SlamMan:
The whip is on the way but has been pushed back till probably the start of May. The problem with the delay on the whip is in fact a great problem for us to have... we have sold so many IONs that we have to focus on production of the actual machine and hold off a month or so on the whip. There is a place on our website to sign up to get informed when the whip is released.

Here is the link to the whip sign up

Derf:
A video would be amazing. I think something showcasing the ease of use of the ION would be best and I will certainly put it up on the website.

**A side note along these lines** I would like to get a release signed so we can use the videos that were submitted for that contest. If any of you are willing to let us use your contest entry for future promotions, please get in touch and by way of compensation (besides the ION you have already gotten) we will make certain you do not run out of bags.

Kazzy:
The oven bags/ turkey bags affix to the mouthpiece pretty easily.

Can also use the bag as a oven back and cook some chicken and vegetables... gives them a nice light coating of oil...

well then... tell me how it works out for you. I noticed when i do this, you got to eat a whole meal to feel the effects, since only the outer few mm of food only have the oils in them..... but it works. Tastes good too.
only reason I tried this is I was using oven bags to replace extreme bags... and the idea occurred to me, "If they are oven bags... no reason why they still cannot be used for cooking"

I wonder if a little vodka in the bag to help loosen the good stuff would be a good addition. Vodka Chicken with a boost ?

vodka might knock the oils loose and when the bag heats up turn it back into a nice vapor that will permeate the chicken.... possible maybe?
