Can someone explain to me in better detail about how that glass attachment piece helps to smoke smaller amounts?

Thanks

which small glass attachment are you referring to? the mini whip attachment or the Gong adapter for bongs?

While I'm in this thread, figured I'd say Hey

I just picked up my Extreme Q for 229 all said and done locally, I'm finally starting to get a feel for the controls and I'm quite impressed.

I may decide to get a gong adapter later on to compliment my gear glass, but that things already tricked out with a perc and ash catcher

I am a Medical Marijuana Patient in Washington State. Recieved my Extreme last Friday. I am so satisfied with this product. It looks like a high quality unit. Everything is so well designed. Although the remote control looks like a gimmick, it is something that I would not want to be without, it is so easy to operate this vaporizer with it. I love this little machine. I took it over to a friend's house and proceeded to get three people high for hours on just three cyclone bowl fillups. Checked the air coming out of the whip hose with a photo themometer. With the unit set at 260 C the reading was a cool 60F. The only improvement the Extreme Q needs is a decent valve system for the baloons to put the Extreme at the same user friendly level as the Volcano. Thanks to everyone here that helped me to make up my mind as to which vaporizer to buy. The Extreme Q is definately the best buy going, a very usable bag and whip system. I added something to the device that looks hardcore, but could be very useful for someone with limited use of their arms or other mobility issues. It allows hands free usage:

This actually works great, with or without the air assist. Gives super dual "nosehits". Inhale deeply and the cyclone bowl works. The only modification I had to do is to cover some "vent" holes with some tape. Hope this may be a help to someone. :peace:

thats an incredible addition man, i'm thinking of ordering some extra tubing and making a mask similar to one i used on a machine for asthma years ago before inhalers (puffers).

well done

I was impressed by how well it actually worked once I put tape over the air vents and ran the Extreme Qs hose all the way to the nose piece. I have more of the flex tubing; it looks cool, but too large a diameter, so I need to get longer piece of medical grade and run it to the nosepiece again. Believe some of the THC goes direct to the brain when inhale through the nasal cavities. The three speed fan with remote makes it easy to inhale this way.... :peace:

I think i was getting smoke because I wasn't breathing in fast enough at too high a temp?

Still feel like the herb isn't getting as brown as it should, usually a green/brown, but when i try to breath in seems like i'm not getting as much anymore... is that a sign to turn up the temp to get more out of it, or what?

what tempertures are you starting and finishing at?

give it a stir or a repack and see if that helps, or just added it to the ABV collection and start fresh

Do tell. I know Steve only is concerned with the highest quality components in this machine so i'm curious as to what you don't like?

Maybe disrespect is not accurate. Unwelcome is more like it, since most posters in these threads are owners or fans of the particular model under discussion. As I've told you previously, a vape specific thread is not the place to argue about materials, where sufficient facts are lacking (as far as most are concerned) to bring the discussion to a close, or even discuss it, without it deteriorating into an endless mess.

And i do have some criticism on this unit :uhoh:
As well as most other commercially sold brands?

His complaints with most models go way beyond "quality components". Like I said, don't get him started.

Just ordered my Extreme Q.
Can anyone recommend any "must have" accessories?
I like the look of the adapter The Electrician posted about but I'm in the UK - anyone know where I could get one?
Thanks in advance.

Please post your pics, spiky (as I imagine many others would be interested in seeing the insides of the Q).

Please also try to identify opinions and guesses about the materials in the unit by beginning your sentences with something like "I believe..." or "It looks like..." (as I imagine that others also do not like reading statenebts that are presented as facts without any credible links to back them up).

I also agree that any discussions about the safety of any particular material (beyond an initial statement of opinion, shared observation, or fact about the unit with links to the source) belong in their own thread in the lounge.

I have actually had the opportunity to see the insides of the Q and the original extreme, and they appear to be similar (although the new unit appears to be more durable, protect the glass surrounding the heating element better, and prevent heat migration better--not to mention the quieter fan, etc.).

If anyone wishes to discuss different fan types and which would be the most appropriate for a vaporizer, please start a thread in the lounge. ;)

However, please do post your thoughts about the unit and pics of the unit here.

PS: If anyone ever reads something that they feel may be untrue, it can be helpful to search for the rest of that individuals posts in order to see how reliable they are in general (also, feel free to report the post to the mods for them to look into the matter and address it).

One question about the Q too? I have heard that the Q stands for quiet (in regards to the new, low-noise, fan), but have also heard that it stands for quality (in regards to all of the components that were upgraded). Does anyone know what the Q actually stands for?

Just received some of the Tygon 3350 tubing from USplastics for my Extreme. I've triple checked that this stuff is safe (any confirmation?) because when I pulled it out of the box its SO much more flexible than the stock tubing, a definite plus in my book.
Also, the color threw me a little since I was expecting clear, its see thru but definitely darker than the previous.
Lastly, straight out of the box its pretty dirty, seems that this will pick up a lot more dust particles than the other (someone mentioned this in the Extreme tubing topic so I feel better).
Any recommendations before I rig this up? Should I clean it (with H20 of course) first? Hope this is an appropriate place to post...
Tygon is great stuff, and the 3350 you have is typically used in medical and pharmaceutical laboratories. It's extremely safe. While it's maximum operating temperature is rated at 400F (204C), you should be just fine because the elbow piece and tubing don't actually reach those temperatures.

Thanks spaceman I appreciate it! I'm amazed at how smooth--non-porous--the inside of this tubing is; obviously this is what makes the Tygon 3350 so safe for medicinal usage since what's being passed through doesn't have an opportunity to grab onto anything.
The weird part is how the condensed vapor gathers on the inside, because of how smooth the tube is the wand-hash/oil forms little droplets, I've got like a dozen drops of amber/red oil near the elbow!

Hello everyone, my first post here on FC =). I received my Extreme-Q a few days ago and I must say I am very happy with my purchase! One slight problem tho, I had it for a few days before trying out the bag system. I tried 3 or 4 times with little vapor ever making it to the bag. After checking over the hose for leaks I noticed a flaw in at the joint on the elbow piece. Do you thing Steve at customer service could help me get this replaced since its obviously a manufacture defect?\

Here is a pic.

UPDATE: Received a package from Canada today, Inside was not 1, but 2 new elbow pieces and two additional sets of screens. I must say, I am very pleased.

Thanks again Arizer for sticking behind your products!

What is the tube sizing for the extreme-q? I went to Home Depot and got 1/4" ID x 3/8" OD tubing (as suggested here and on grasscity). Got home and it's too small :(. So what's the actual size??
The tubing size is 5/16" ID x 7/16" OD.

I got this information from Debbie at Arizer yesterday.

Hey everyone,

I'm wondering about how to vape hash in the extreme q. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

I'm guessing this was talked about in the Extreme Thread but regardless...

Crank up your temp to a little higher than usual and break up the hash...the smaller the particles the better. You can vape that itself or try to mix it with herb. You can try the elbow pack method as well..works good.

I used to get that on the inside of the glass minibong that I used my VaporStar in. The surface is so smooth that the vapor can't effectively adhere to the glass (tubing in your case) very well and so doesn't form an even coating. It sticks to itself better than it does the glass or tube inner wall. Same principle that products like RainX and high quality automotive waxes use to promote water beading.

I think I'm getting the hang of packing the elbow, but it seems like i'm getting a fair amount of smoke at 190 or higher, should you pack it lightly but so it sticks? or any other input like that...

if it feels like smoke it is, right? just only the light white on exhale is the vapor
It's not smoke. You don't have it turned up nearly high enough to be burning anything. 190C is just above the temperature that vaporization begins at. You can safely run it up to 220C-230C without burning. There are beneficial chemicals that don't vaporize until 224C, though they may not be psychoactive, as THC is most famous for. 235C/240C is when the weed starts to get dark. I wouldn't go above 245C and even then you have to keep an eye on it.

To respond to an earlier post, I usually do 170 to 195 because I heard carcinogens start around 200 celsius, but is that only if the actual herbs (not the heating element) hit 200?

If I pack the elbow it seems like I get smoke coming out of my mouth after I inhale. Is there a way to tell the difference in an exhale between vapor and smoke? I've noticed if it seems more like smoke that it tends to escape my mouth slightly even if I'm holding it in, whereas the same isn't always true with the light white vapor. Or am I packing too hard into the elbow piece?

I'm definitely getting high, but not consistently yet, and still not getting the herbs as dark as I guess they're supposed to get

Do you go outside everyday?, then you are breathing in a lot more carcinogens than you'll ever get vaporizing at a higher temperature. Unless you have done any modifications to your unit, you will not get smoke until you hit temps in excess of 240C. Release all of what your herb has to offer and raise your temps higher IMHO.
