Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

Dang mutten, that case makes me want to get a nibbler myself hahahaha

The ONLY gripe i had to find in the V4 is the metal on metal scraping that occurs when twisting off the metal stealth body. Ugh lol

Other than that, i've started to like each atomizer equally for the purpose each one has.
When i want a DAB, i go with the dual quartz, which i loaded with some cookies and cream just now:zzz:

When im out n about, i use the double coil because i can just drop a blob in there and 8/10 times it will land on the two coils. I always carry a toothpick just in case i need to move it over a little.

The single coil has offered good sipping, solo sessions. When i'm at home and don't want a lung busting hit and want to chill on a dab spaced through 5 or so small rips.... perfect.
I also use a toothpick for this. They're really good at not having wax stick to them and you can brush wax down the tip of the toothpick with your finger and form a glob. Have not used a metal dab tool since i've been using those. Make sure you get high quality toothpicks too. Don't want any contaminants or splinters laying around.

Just got one of these. To me the taste is fantastic, nice hits! Found if my pulses are a little shorter, (3 secs) better taste, little longer (5 secs) quicker hits. This is going to be so great for my traveling for work. :ko:

It really is like a little portable dab rig, I have some cheap crap pens I bought before that are likely going in the trash.

So I scored a CannaCase to stash my Omicron and Nibbler in for when I am on the road and don't want to break my shit

The case is called the woodward and cost 17.00 it had a very user friendly insert that can be easy shaped to fit your needs. They have a pretty sweet Nintendo concentrate container that fits perfectly in the mix to hold 2 decent size slabs of whatever is needed.

In my on the go dab kit I have the following:
1: full size Omicron V4 pen
1: Nibbler attachemtnet
1: AC 2 base (For nibbler)
1: 3.7V donut cart
1: 7.4V donut cart
1: dual coil cart
1: Nintendo dab slab container

Pretty sweet to have all that in a solid case for 17.00!!!

Here are some pics

This is the case closed. it is a semi hard shell and has a nice solid feel to it

here is the case opened with all my fixings in place

Everything out of the case for reference
Love the case, I'm going to check out that site when I'm off work.

I wanted to ask about the 7.4v donut. Do you use it with the omicron? Do you just turn it all the way up? I hadn't thought of using 7.4v stuff with it.....

Hey guys. Just some questions on the Alpha Centauri...
1. Purely from an efficiency standpoint, which is better the Hercules or the Alpha Centauri-- I just mean which uses more oil for the same effect?
2. Can the Alpha Centauri be used with 501 threaded digital vaporizers? What wattage to use?
3. Which to pick, single coil, dual coil, or the donuts?

Can't help with that but I am curious too.

Yes. Start way low and work up to the size of hit and quality of taste you prefer. I actually wish the Omicron had a lower setting for tasty sips. It could take longer to heat up and I wouldn't mind waiting a bit if it had a setting low enough that riding the button wouldn't burn the oil. This is one reason I amost prefer my old Omicrons that I sent off for an upgrade.

Taste...any of them if you use them right.(Never, ever hold the button more than 5 seconds without a break in between of an equal time as the button press.). Try this for the best taste and conservation.....load small, a tiny grain of rice size, melt into the coils with 1 second pulses, put cap on, start drawing slowly and hold button for 5 seconds, keep drawing and release button for 5 seconds, keep drawing and hold for 4 secs, keep on drawing, release for 4 secs, push for 3, release for 3 all while continuing to draw. You can get it down to where you can vape til the coils are dry without bad taste if you are careful.

Conservation....see above...lol

Clouds that will put you down.....dual coil, tiny load, high power setting and a Nibbler to smooth it out. Hit as above. Have a chair and a friend ready just in case.....lol

Thanks so much for the answer! The information on pulsing technique is much appreciated and really helpful for me, and I was wondering about this.

Anyhow, I just got a Hercules 510 a week or two ago, and don't have an Alpha Centuri yet, though I'm considering adding one. I have a bunch of digital vaporizers for nicotine (mostly Vapor Flasks), so was happy to get back into the w9tech stuff now that I don't have to buy a specially threaded vape to use them. I guess I was just slightly curious if LAYG would be more efficient with the oil than the Hercules, since intuitively, it seems like there would be less waste with smaller loads, but I guess I'll just have to try and see. It is quite nice to not have to refill constantly, with the Hercules. Still, the AC, can use my regular 510 drip tip mouthpieces (at least I think so, someone just told me this in the other thread), which would be really nice (don't particularly like the Hercules mouthpiece really is my lone complaint, and wish I could just use my standard 510 glass drip tips), and I'm thinking the AC might be easier to carry, and possibly more efficient, and just good to have as an alternative.

Just wondering still about a couple other things, if you, or anyone knows.
1. How does the re-coiling work on the Alpha Centauri? I have tons of titanium 1 wire for building coils for my Nicotine atomizers, and was curious if I can use the wire I already have for re-buildng.
But I may not be understanding the coiling system correctly-- are the donuts coils, or wicks, or what? I don't quite understand what these are.

2. Does the same 5 second rule apply for the Herc?

I tried a vape pen a couple years ago, didn't really like it and don't have a huge need for one so I've just been watching the market since then. Took another look at w9tech partially due to the exposure on Hash Church / Bubbleman's channel and I just ordered an Omicron v4 and a donut atty from PlanetVape to try out. Wouldn't mine having something discreet to hit when I'm out and about and worst case if I don't like it I can probably find someone to sell or gift it to. I was tempted to get the nibbler but it's not discreet and in cases where I would use it I could probably bring my full portable e-nail setup instead (120v battery pack baby!).

I kinda like that the number of SKUs have dropped since before, makes it a bit easier to figure out what to get. Having a lot of choice is great but I found it harder to differentiate between them, could just be me.

Anyone here using the dual quartz coil from oilvaporizer.com?

I seem to have run into a problem with the dual quartz in temp control that doesnt happen with the dual ceramics in temp control and I cant figure out why.

All of my quarts coils now read in the resistance range of 1.2 ohm -2.7 ohms and wont fire
due to the high reading ( using a cuboid). I get atomizer short message. I have only used each one about 5 times.
It appears my whole 5 pack is now dead after about 2 weeks of owning them.

All the dual 6 of my dual ceramic register around .75 in resistance and work flawlessly after multiple uses and cleanings etc.....

I much prefer the quartz taste and performance over the dual ceramics so I am hoping I am doing something wrong that can be corrected or someone can help me figure this out.

1. For efficiency the Alpha Centauri is superior since you can easily control your load size by only putting a small amount of extract inside. The Hercules makes it very easy to take Herculean rips which'll throw efficiency right out the window. It is possible to use low power settings and short pulses of power to get wispy vapor if you wish, but IMHO might as well just use a 1701 ceramic donut if that's what you're after.

2. Yes, start low and work your way up. 10-13 watts is the maximum with ~5 second pulses of power. Higher power levels merit shorter pulses of power to prevent overheating.

3. With the full Alpha Centauri kit you do not need to choose since all 3 heaters are included. I'd say that the dual coil is by far the fan favorite, and the 1701 is a contender for terp hunters :). Single coils best advantage is for those who want to be as efficient as possible, other wise the dual coil provides twice the wicking and twice the heating wire to double vapor output for a given temperature.

Just wondering still about a couple other things, if you, or anyone knows.

2. Does the same 5 second rule apply for the Herc?

1. We sell replacement heating elements for the Alpha Centauri and do not provide any support for rebuilding these coils. However, we don't put any solder, glue, or cast-in plastic to prevent you from disassembling and rebuilding these coils if you are an experienced coil builder and wish to do so. You may find the Gen 3 Kiss cart, AC dual coil, or AC 1701 to be to your liking as far as housings go... If you use titanium wire, you'll need to use crimps to attach the resistor coil to non-resistance leads. Pay attention to how the cart is built when you put it back together. The 1701 uses a donut wick (passive) on top of a ceramic donut heater. You rebuild the 1701 by exchanging the ceramic heating element:
but some choose to wrap a wire coil.

2. Nope, you won't burn out the Hercules ceramic rod with long pulses of power, but pulsing is still helpful when used on VW mods so they can send power appropriately as the resistance of the rod changes, and it also allows you to regulate the temperature.

My Omicron v4 just arrived, the battery is smaller than I was expecting! I also have some Evic's I can use with it as well. I just tried a bit of shatter on the dual-coil and it was nice and tasty and not really harsh. We'll see how it is over time. I like that I can just melt some into the wicks and be good to go for a few hits. Since that's pretty much how I'll use it most of the time.

After many requests I've finally been able to make a video showing my technique with the Omicron and its included Dual Coil. I'm using it first at 10 watts (Yellow) and then at 16 watts (Green) and demonstrating how I pulse at a faster pace at higher power settings.

And if you happen to be interested in picking up an Omicron, all orders $30 and more from www.w9tech.com are shipping with a free vaporizer gift. It might be a Minicron, it could be a slim Vaporizer pen, it might be an Omega... Gifts depend on the order placed, and what we have on hand; this is a limited time offer that will expire once our older vaporizers run out :)

Actually this has happened to me twice. First time was a week or two ago. I was using my dual quartz atomizer and it suddenly stopped working. Switched it out with the dual ceramic which worked, then switched it out again for the daul quartz and then it started working again. Weird

Now it's doing again. It stopped working last night. I tried the same thing i did by switching the atomizers out in hopes that the dual quartz would work, but neither my omicron nor my eleaf 30w are reading it. They do read the single and double ceramic coils tho.... so... damn :T
I loved this quartz one too

I have trouble with them on my evic tc mini sometimes. I have to run them on something that doesn't detect that stuff like my persei/omicron until it warms up a little and it'll work fine after that. My evic has always been kind of flakey with the kiss ac carts, I use my omi v4 over it now.

@NimbusVapor what kind of Mod are you using? VTC Mini and Cuboid both have known issue with very shallow threading and a spacer may be needed to accommodate the center pin of the AC without bottoming out the pin inside the mod. Many people make one out of a tennis can lid, or Pringles can lid. Cut a hole in the center for the center hole to go through, trace a line around the AC base, and trim to fit.

With regards to the center pin adjustment, in case the pin got pushed up too high try pulling the pin down about 1mm with your fingernails (or a tool if needed)

Thanks for the response Sam,

It appears the problem is only with the dual coil quartz. I cant say for sure that I didnt fire these above recommended wattage so I just bought a fresh 5 pack off delta9vapes and I am going to purchase a new mod to eliminate that variable . I did tryin pulling the pin down on eaach of them and the readins were all random once again.
The interesting thing is the dual ceramic and the herc instantly register at the right resistance right away without any messing around.

On another note, I just caught a glimpse of the new tesla stealth mini box mod and went to purchase it because I think it would look and function killer with an ACv2 but noticed there is one catch with the mod. It doesnt have nay adjustable settings and from what I have gathered from watching reviews and research, the watts it fires at is apparently determined by the resistance of the coil. my question is would this work well with the acv2 and its coils. Im assuming if it is reading a resistance of around .82 it wll be firing at 13 watts?
I know it wont work with temp control but it looks like it would make a nice low wattage pulser.

Am I better off staying away from this one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah... that fingernail thing by pulling down the pin a little didn't work :T
Oh well... at least its only 1 busted atomizer i guess... And i had just packed a fat glob in there lol

If you want stealth just grab the 900mah Omicron......they are super small and you get 10, 13, 16 and 19 watt settings.

I tried to find the instruction manual or any information on how this device works beyond whats stated at http://www.teslacigs.com/design/stealth.html and I could not find any instruction manuals or information about how the device works. Since I can't find out how it sends power or how much off what resistance I could not suggest such a device. I would be much more apt to suggest an Omicron vaporizer since it's designed with wattage settings tailored to our coils and guaranteed to work, while I cant guarantee operation of our coils on any other company's mod and field questions on a daily basis regarding substandard performance of Alpha Centauri and Kiss Cartridges used on other regulated devices.

I posted this somewhere earlier for a person who was looking for a convenient, on-the-go case for the Omicron. I thought I would post it here as well in case others were interested...

Here's a pic of it packed:

A picture of it closed and next to my box mod:

A picture of everything that I had packed into that tiny case:

I have two W9 AC attys in there but you could easily replace one with the largest size Omicron battery (securely so it's not banging around with your dab tools, etc.):

X96v0Xd.jpg

The case is pretty much pocket size and it is also smell proof. There is still room for other items - I usually carry spare coils in there as well. I purchased it from Amazon a couple months ago for $18, (looks like black is a little more expensive): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AXU15QA/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
