Right size does anyone know? Looks too good too be true? 5 for US $9, wonder if colours other than white.
Absolutely amazing if all above board.

Edit, just navigated the website better, on iPhone.... Heaps of awesome colours and configs on there!

You can click back a few pages where these were discussed -- some were correctly sized and some weren't. Not sure of the rhyme or reason to know which is which, though.

Mmmm! Makes it slightly less exciting! Still cheap enough to order 20 and hope for the best of a few that fit I guess, moving soon so will have to wait for a new address to order I think. I noticed it makes mention of import, standard and German sizing.
Anyone been in contact with them about the sizing?

Again FC:
Convection vapes don't like stems IMO.
If you guys are getting always hot spots, I'll recommend the Spinning Stem technique plus taking some time to TAKE MOST OF THE STEMS FROM YOUR BUD. TAKE AN EXTRA MINUTE BEFORE GRINDING TO OPEN BUDS AND TAKE AS MANY STEMS AS POSSIBLE OUT OF YOUR BUD.
If you have a 4 stage grinder, GRIND UPSIDE DOWN TILL GETTING A FLUFFY CONSISTENCE ON YOUR GRIND. NO TOO MUCH. YOU DON'T WANT TOO FINE GRIND.
IF your bud is good, when you drop it on a container IT LOOKS LIKE ALIVE.
Trichs make that funny thing that crumbles on top of each other and grind bud looks like moving by itself.
At this point barely little fine stems will look like almost fine grinded bud.
Makes sense??
When I load I draw through the stem and gets fairly packed. Then I barely tamp with pinky.
Convection likes that little tamp to create a bud screen that allows the minimum necessary airflow restriction to vape evenly.
Even with that, airflow will find a weak spot to run faster when dry bud gets vaped in the stem, that's where hotspots happen.
THAT'S WHERE THE SPINNING STEM TECHNIQUE COMES HANDY IMO.
Stay vaped my friends.

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
Absolutely mica, any of you engineers wanna comment on the exact purpose / properties of mica?

Not engineer but I am intrigued too by a rectangular disk ;)

Mica is used as an heat insulator, it is used in VM too to protect wood from charring.
With time and humidity/water it can flake off a little but seems to be quite safe and not reactive to extreme heat (if I remember it was/is used by nasa too for heat shield in space shuttles?) Just dont make powder out of it and inhale :)

Calm Consistency
Don't think it's really been answered despite the answers?
Originally the mica was glass instead, but absorbed too much heat and took away from the heat reaching the herb. Acted as a heat sink. The mica reflects the heat better (from my understanding) and is safe and effective. Be happy it's there, it was one of the biggest turning points to better low heat retention with more consistent results.

As the manual says it is patented so RBT can't have an issue with it being posted.

As somebody who has seen it I can say wholeheartedly I don't believe he's patented it or will be able to patent it.

I fairly certain its an insulator against shorts.

If you think he can't patent it, do you think it will be copied by others? On the bright side, it would be nice for the consumers because I imagine the price would go down and an awesome vape design would be more commonplace.

Why do you say that? This is a direct contrast to what we've always heard so I'm curious as to what made you feel that way.

Sorry to see that people are having issues.. Is there a reason you chose to get a refund before you tried your unit? CS aside.. I mean my experience was personally great but I can see that others have not had the same experience with CS. Still this vape is quite amazing and the only reason I would ask for a refund would be because it didn't work up to par. I'm sure RBT will be happy to give you your money and send another unit to planet vape or someone else.. Ryan has made it clear that he doesn't mind refunding Zion pre orders so why would he mind a milaana one? For him it just frees up a vape for someone else. He knows how awesome his heater tech is and he could care less about giving out refunds. On the Zion thread he didn't mind them cancelling Zion orders and he would happily refund I'm pretty sure. He probably doesn't mind because it makes it possible for him to sell them to others. You should get a refund soon.

Edit:I know that what I heard from RBT was about pre orders. Don't want to give wrong information, I'm just relaying info I read in the Zion thread.

I think the refund issue is more about how long the process takes. Some have had to wait longer than the listed wait time.

Yeah I mean I know people have been waiting for warranty requests.. Which is not nice to see; really hope RBT gets everyone situated with a milaana. I just know that a lot of people have cancelled orders through RBT and they should have no problem processing a refund for you, I mean it was stated so in the Zion thread for pre orders at least so I imagine it would be the same, refunds take a while.. Like even when all partys do things fast it can take over a week.

Soon enough we will all be buying RBT products from retailers; this is better for all, giving customers better peace of mind and also giving Ryan more time to make great tech for his vapes.

Edit: not my place to give anyone any info about how long things should or will take; I just know that a lot of people have gotten refunds.

Hola FC:
Yes, that rectangle is mica.
As we discussed before the "infamous patented technology " of RBT is nothing else than the "old reliable hair dryer technology "
Nothing else than that, dedicated to a vape.
Good luck trying to name/redo a patent to fit the exact bla bla bla that needs a patent to clear a record/new patent??? I wish them the best.

On technique, I'm barely getting hot spots now.
The trick, IMO no matter how you "feather the button " or "adjust your draw speed" , IMO it's all in (I'm not screaming, sorry, so people can read and take some advice on technique)
SPINNING THE STEM AS FAST AS POSSIBLE OR AS NEEDED NON STOP TILL THE HEATER IS COLD AND NO MORE VAPOR IS DRAW. THIS IS A 2 HAND TECHNIQUE. IT WORKS ALWAYS FOR ME.
I'M SURE SOMEONE DID IT ALREADY.
GonG JOINTS GET SOFTER WITH TIME AND SPIN BETTER IMO.
TRY THIS AT HOME AND POST RESULTS PLEASE.
Stay vaped my friends.
Are you saying spin while drawing or between hits?

So the mailman woke me out of my computer screen induced lethargy around 2pm this afternoon. Yes it's a package from PlanetVape with my very own Milaana. First impressions? Pictures do not properly reflect the utterly utilitarian, nay, agrarian nature of this design. Looks truly like something from the middle school Science Fair (all the helicopter dads did the projects...). OK so you gather my first impression is of underwhelment. To cut to the chase on finishing I've already finishsanded and beeswaxed her until she's smooth as a baby's arse. I'm much happier now. Yes I am a superficial kind of guy.
Silly strong performance. Even if you pack a stem hard there is surprisingly easy airflow. I don't usually grind so I just packed some little nuggets in the basket screen. I pushed them together pretty hard which is something I figured out with my Fireflys (naah, it's not recommended for them either). So I had a slight restriction of draw because of the hard pack but still silly easy. And yeah it kept getting away from me. I'm confident enough in my vapeability to admit when I'm out of my depth. It tastes so good that I don't believe my throat and tongue warnings and well, I haven't combusted yet but that's ugly ABV. Haven't done water yet. I'll get this...
So mine has a nice flush power button and the screen for the air intake. Still coming with a lifetime warranty and mine has the latest 3000 battery. A few burn marks on the bottom give it character. You guys are right. Best to grind or at least hand tear. Way more power than I need to vape. Still learning. Might have to investigate those glycerine sprays.

Not to derail but space shuttle tiles are a form of silica ceramics.

Carry on.

Ok so I'm a little confused. I'm checking out the milaana and the Zion but can't figure out how to purchase these items? Unless in bulk

You can only purchase through retailers at this point in time. PlanetVape is one that is located in Canada and I believe that there is another in the US but don't remember which one it is.

It has been mentioned in this thread if you want to do a search - or perhaps someone will provide the alternate online retailer in a future posting.

Edit: Post above beat me to it ......at least for the store that I was thinking of.

Yeah, I haven't found the store in the US. But Planetvape.ca has the Milaana in stock.
