MiniVAP Vaporizer

I'm too experiencing problems with my black MV, I purchased back in late October from Vapornation. It started with the inconsistent lights which was not a big deal, then the battery time after fully charged drained too quick, and now I think inconsistent heating.
What do you guys recommend?
Should I wait for Vapornation to get the new batch of improved Mini vap's, or open a ticket now?

Open a ticket ASAP, you want to let them know sooner rather than later.

With my first faulty unit I could do 3 heat cycles on Red and get ZERO vapor. Even just drawing on the empty heater section, I could barely feel any heat. It was just like breathing in slightly warm air.

My replacement burns my lips if I try the dry inhale on the heater section.

I started just messing with my mv and seeing battery function. First thing I noticed is that my silver mv looks different than other ppls silver (my trim is black, not white), even ones I see in videos and reviews. I will take a picture, but I'm not tech savvie.

First, my battery looked blue than 20 seconds later turned green ( I fully charged it). The first heat setting that activated Was pink, then I pressed + then green, then red. All became solid after flashing for awhile. When I scroll down, my green turns solid, but my pink and blue continuously flashes and never stops flashing (no matter how long it sits) When I ordered this on thanksgiving, Hermes had black available but said they were upgrading their silvers. I wanted silver So it took a few weeks to deliver.

I ordered off the website. Just first look.

Sorry for double post, please merge. Thank you.

My unit is noticeably warm, like hand warmer warm, after leaving on for ten minutes running through each color for 1.5 minutes each.

Amazing news @Ratchett !!!!!
You rock
Tonight's MV session was on another level.felt brave and went with a 3/4 filled basket.
There is something that sets this vaporizer apart from any I have ever used. The effects are very unique. Right now I am in a warm, relaxed soothing state.

How many Of you mainly use the portable battery? I find it much easier to handle and vape with.
Can't fight this feeling of sleep anymore(thanks minivap ;))
Before I pass out I must get this new wpa attachment from @Ratchett

The silver unit I was sent at the beginning of December has the black trim you describe. It was also sent with a black charging pad instead of the silver I'd seen pictured.

lazylightning,

killick

But I like it!
@Ratchett is it possible to make a combo adapter to fit both 14 and 18mm glass? I have something like that coming for another vape I have. It's not here yet, but in theory it's handy!

Yea, I got the black charging stand too for my silver minivap. Hopefully, I dont have all these problems. The good thing is that you detected it early and getting it fixed.

Lol, you're not the first to request this! It can be done, and I may make a new design for the MiniVAP in the near future. But right now I don't have the time to play around with beta testing a proper fitting 'universal' size (my printer is too busy printing orders!)

Thanks @Kommyknocker for your patronage!

I'm kinda pissed as a long review on Ratchetts thread and a long PM both erased just before sending so I'm not in the mood for the review but here's the teaser pics.
I will be reviewing/comparing the new Ratchett Song and the Delrin/ stainless steel mV adapters.

I am officially naming the the Delrin version the .....Dong......
mVSongDelrinfront.jpg

mVsongDelrintop-1.jpg

Similar pieces but very different materials. The Delrin Dong isn't really a production piece either.

I would rate each as 6 out of 7 on the cannabis leaf rating scale :)
Ratchett's Song fits nicely and no leaks whatsoever. It is most versatile as you can draw straight
from the Song, add a regular whip for straight draws, add a MFLB water whip and use the nice glass
14 mm adapter end as a mouthpiece and it even has a nice wood piece to hold, or use MFLB water whip and insert into bubbler, or use just the Song and invert into bubbler. Extremely versatile which adds to the already supremely versatile mV bag of tricks.
If you have medical/ weak hand issues, the Song acts as a gripper to more easily loosen/ tighten the mV cover.
Inverted into bubbler, it never pulls out glass adapter when removed.
With stock cover and flexicone, attaching a whip to nipple is not solid as it easily falls off but with Song any whip attaches rock solid. Pic below is stock cover but whip attachment is not solid.

IonwMFLBwhip.jpg

Minor weaknesses: drawing straight from Song is not a great mouth feel. It is very flexible which allows one to insert whip BUT inverted on bubbler, you need to hold constantly or remove mV between hits--no big deal.

The 14 mm is very flexible. The 18 mm is much firmer so when inverted on an 18 mm center joint bubbler like my Mobius--you can sort of leave it stand by itself.
..................................................................

On to the Dong.....
My dad was a machinist so I love the stainless steel machined interior and Delrin exterior.
Nice tight connection and no leaks.
Superior feel for straight draw use. A really nice mouth feel. I had loved the angled stock mouthpiece but Dong stays much cooler and I am getting used to/liking the straight shot/ no angle. Was it lazylathe who also liked straight shot/ no angle mouthpiece---I hear you now.

No easy whip attachment so much fewer options on how to use.
It can easily stand by itself inverted in bubbler BUT doing so, it will often pull out the glass adapter when removed.
I also had one episode where mV / Dong was left inverted in bubbler and I was hitting it hard on red. When removed, pulled out the glass adapter AND was really stuck to it so it took 5-10 minutes to get them apart. I'm thinking it really got hot and expanded/ wedged solidly into the adapter. After that I would pull it out between hits on highest temp.

Both are nice pieces.

When did you receive your silver unit?
Just over a month ago. Luckily, I live right by Vapor Nation HQ, so I'm hopeful that exchanging the unit will be relatively easy.
Welcome to the club!
Wish I could say I'm glad to be a member lol. But at least it's reassuring to know I'm not alone...
They typically take 100 uses to start to fail, so it's a problem that couldn't be detected during normal QC.
That seems accurate based on my timeline.
fwiw, now all three of my favorite vapes have had issues with manufacturers. All that says to me is if you want the best vaporizer at this time, some growing pains may be experienced no matter which way you go...which makes choosing the right company to give your money to even more important.
Spot on. I also had to exchange my Cloud EVO because of a manufacturing defect. Like you (or somebody) said, it's ultimately about whether the company stands behind their product. And Hermes (like VapeXhale) seems to do just that.

You wanna talk about it?

Not much of a fan tbh.

Maybe I have a faulty model, but I don't get much out of it unless the battery is fully charged or close to a full charge, and I have to use at the 2nd or 3rd heat settings to see any visible vapor, and at that point the vapor starts getting a little too hot for my liking.

I have been trying out different sets of baskets and screens to no avail to my liking.

I am probably going to send it back and stick with my Mighty, if I can't figure it out soon.

This sounds like a normal unit to me. The lowest temp is really low...for flavor chasing only. The second and third settings ought to start producing visible vapor. The top two setting should satisfy for cloud chasing, but I find them too hot with the included mouthpieces and flexicones. Looking at your lineup, I would suggest trying the MV with your longest Solo stem. Pack a normal flexicone (not the +), attach it to the cap and put it on the core. Then hold the Solo stem to the MV cap where the vapor comes out of the cap and see if this is comfortable for you. You will have to hold it together with your hands for this test. I am interested in knowing if you think this is cooler than the provided parts. I am using mine this way (but with more refined parts) and the larger glass air path makes it great. Do you have a bubbler or some kind of bong?

I have been trying out different sets of baskets and screens to no avail to my liking.

I don't think this is going to make things different, at least with the temp issue you are having. Knowing how to pack it is a good thing, but won't address the heat problem.

In my mind you know you've a working unit or not. It gets you blasted or its faulty. Very visible vapor is really dependant on good material.. Unless it's in direct sunlight or strong light.

Depending on the bud you've got, some don't produce a lot of vapor until higher heats.

X3 on stickstones advice. A small bubbler makes a huge difference on high heats.
A good test is a normal basket but on green and best on red/high---draw long long long slow
pulls and then quick unscrew cover and feel basket----too hot to touch = ok unit.
Warm only = bad unit.

You were going to try different baskets and screens---so what exact mouthpiece have you tried? 2" hard one is hottest. The flexicone plus ( one piece 6" whip with attached cone) is probably coolest stock piece.
Do you have any extra tubing or a bubbler to try?

Honestly you could have a bad unit. I'm assuming you have access to top shelf herbs ?
10mins ago I started the MV at the second lowest setting (pink) and hit it through my jhan pixel sidecar as soon as the light stopped flashing. Exhaled a large delicious cloud of vapor into a ray of sunshine. Took another hit of equal or greater size and now I'm about to see what happens on green.
I would do a serious testing before you make your final decision on this vaporizer
It is arguably my favorite vape of all time. I understand some vapes aren't for other people ,excluding the price tag I find it hard to imagine someone not mildly enjoying this vape.
My :2c::peace:

Remember brother....we both got Silver MiniVap units from the same seller around the same time. Mine is back already waiting on a replacement. I would bet my paycheck that yours is bad too. Lots of reports here on FC about that bad batch that came from VN. Don't give up yet!

Appreciate all the help guys.

It's a bummer..

I really do want to enjoy this thing, but I just can't seem to figure it out.. I'm going to charge it up tonight and do what stickstones suggested.

Unfortunately, I can not use the minivap. It is way too hot. When I place the long silicon mouthpiece onto the top, if I take a hit while holding the silicon lightly in place, I can't hold the silicon. It almost burns my hand on green. Is the experience for others? If you hold the long silicon mouthpiece near the nipple, can you keep your hand on the tubing near the base or is it too hot for others as well. This is on the green setting.

When I use pink, it is too hot too. Same experience. I got really medicated after a few draws for the minivap. Pink has no visible vapor even in light, but I can feel the heat from minivap. At green, very light visible vapor, very "warm to hot " vapor.

I have a concern. Will I be able to ship this back to Spain because it has the smell of my flowers? I wanted to see if others are experiencing this before I submit a ticket.

I will try my water adapter piece I got for my bubbler with the minivap with my vapor brothers bubbler and see if it is good. I used the mighty right after and really appreciate its cooling unit. I tried the minivap with the plastic mouthpiece but I can not even take a 5 second draw because my lips can't take the heat.
