not more voltage, more amperage. This thing must suck current hard. It does have two heating elements.

The lights seem different on this new one? Battery life shorter or more accurate? Temps not as high? Maybe battery not as powerful but more reliable. Maybe old no pro batteries used to fill production.

The taste great. Pinnacle is back in contention for daily driver.

Interesting. I wonder if some units are hotter/colder than others, and if so, by how much...

I was able to get 5 sessions off the new battery.

I think BB does mean higher voltage.

@Ratm22 Exactly what I found and posted previously. You need more than 5.0Volts to get operation and charge...
-BB

BB, are you able to confirm the Voltage drop and Current draw for both PNP off charge state and on while plugged in?

I believe the PNP bypasses the battery when it is on and plugged in.

I don't think it is charging the battery and powering the unit while plugged.

I could be wrong though, but either way... BB if you could confirm the measurements... that would be kickass!!!!

Thanks @Sativape!

You definitely need more than 5.0V to get the thing to operate! 5.0V measured 0.95Amps peak in just charge mode. The PNP will vary a bit. It might start charge at 0.5A and then increase to higher, then go lower; depends upon how low the battery is.

Once at operation voltage, current peaks of 2.25A were measured with 1Amp quassi-steady-state. The unit pulses the heaters...

This is all lab supply and DVM current meter using my PNP...

As much as I use my Proto1 car charger to a from work, I do think it charges a bit during operation if my battery was low. Hard thing to measure. Could be bounce back during down time...

There is also more than just voltage and current involved. There is also ripple...

INTRODUCTION:

Hello to you all! Bubbhas in da house,
Long time creeper first time speaker,
Ive been a 8 year smoker up untill 2 weeks ago when i got my first "real"desk top unit. (The DBV)
And we all kno what that beast does lol.
So I've now been convinced that vaping is the only way to go, it be dumb not too in my opinion lol my friends still don't get it. But anyway i now have been on the search for my portable. Ive been creapin around for a while now and ive read the pnp eniter thread lol took me a week! But i have to say that this site and you people are amazing and im glad to see somthing like this exists.

WHAT THIS COMMENT WILL PROVIDE:

This is why i personally think the PNP is going to be the best portable unit for me AND im also gonna talk what i think about the MP and PONG issue.
(Ill touch on the battery too.)
(*note ive also read up on the solo, firefly and many others but i still think i will prefer the PNP over either. Heres why.)

WHAT I WANT OUT MY UNIT:

1. Portability/stealth.

-This is one on my list because this best fits my on the go lifestyle.
I wanna be able to pull this out and hit it while im playin pool at my local bar without someone staring at me thinking wtf is that lol. And the PNP looks like it would be great for steathly hits.

2. VAPOR PRODUCTION.

This is a no brainer and is just as important as the stealth. I want to be able to feel my hits i want a decent taste and above all esle i want to be medicated fast with as less fussing around as possible. I think from what i have read and learned about the PNP this should not be an issue and should satisfy me nicely.

4.- BATTERY.
For me, i think the battery on the PNP Will work perfect. Since the majority of the time ill be at home using my desktop unit. Im saying unless i were to be going to a concert or some other kind of all day event. This 50 minute battery would not be an issue at all. I would probably use it for 3 sessions MAX if i take it to work and smoked on my breaks then i still got one session left for the ride home! Shit seems perfect to me. Other than that i would just be running to the grocery store and what not and i will only vape there and back so i cant see
The battery being to much of an issue unless it fails with in a year.
Also i dont want them to have to redesign this whole thing just to make a removable battery! The thing is already built. Let them use that info for the VB3
BUT, what would be tits, as one guy on here said, provide us with the option to purchase a replacement battery with instructions on how to swap out the dead one. Im sure its not too hard and anyone with a little Patience and mechanical skills could probably do it.
Now of coarse this would void the warrenty but it would just be a nice option to have.

3. Safe to use.
Of coarse this a major concern.. Most people are switching from smoke to vape because of its big health benifits! (Including me)
And any melting plastic, offgasses, strange tastes ect. Would all definatly be a big and well had concern. Im not gonna lie i almost walked away from the PNP because of all the reported MP issuses. BUT. I kept reading and kept digging for more answers. And this is my opinion on the problem.

MY OPINION ON MP AND PONG ISSUE'S:

After having read all about the isssue from the community and having read the comments left by TRVB and engineering.

First off i would just like to thank vapor blunt for adressing the issues on here and trying to work it out with us. It shows that they are a company that knows that there customers opinions do matter.

Second i would like to state that i think that the new GONG There working on will make this device perfect.

And thrid and most important. out of all the comments ive read no one really seems to go into detail on what they really think is causing the plastic around the screen to melt. Its really easy to see though after you've read threw all 154 pages Lol.
Now please correct me if im wrong on this but it doest seem that anyone using cotten to cap the bullet at the top or the people that used a dome style screen on top there bullet are having any issues with all these melting and chipping pieces. And heres why i think that is.
People are saying that the bullet in some cases depending on how u hold your PNP Will fly up and rest agianst that lip around the screen making it get too hot and chip/melt since the bullet is making direct contact with the plastic from underneath.
I could definatly see the chances of this happening especially with it upside down in anytype of water pipe because though having it upside down and running while not using it my not push that bullet tight agianst the screen in the MP or PONG. As soon as you start sucking threw that WT and creating all that suction power im willing to bet that bullet smacks right up agianst that screen rim
And your added suctionis along with gravity is keeping it there while it keeps getting hotter after every draw.

This is why i think that the people useing cotten or the domed up screens arnt having this issue. I think what there doing here is by topping off the top of there bullet with cotten, or doming a screen up so that it protrudes a bit above the rim of the bullet. The cotten or screen act as a spacer since they are slighty raised sightly above the bullet lip and wont let the bullet rim touch the rim around your MP or PONG.
Witch is why i think the people using these methods weren't having any problems at all.
And then from here u can kinda fill in the blanks, you could have one person with a slow draw that prefers to hold hit unit almost perfectly upright.
Then another user might super hit the thing and tend to hold it on the horizontal side. This latter method may have enough suction and tilt to agian suck that bullet up to the point of contact with the screens plastic rim and causing some of the uneven chipped/melted areas i was seeing on some of your guys pics.

FINALLY:
im not saying im 100% right on this at all im only making the best guess i can based on what ive read.
I think that VB has been doin a great job for such a small business and im sure as there products grow so will there services that they provide us.

I think this vape meets all my needs and im going to be buying my PNP next friday and when it comes im going to test all my theories. Worst case senerio if i start having MP or PONG problems im just going to use this glass assessory piece from an E-NANO

http://www.epicvape.com/accessories..._aromatherapy_botanicals_herbal/adjust-a-bowl

and make my own like @emmdeemo did that shit looks easy to do and effective.
But i really do think the problem lies in that bullet rim resting on that screen rim.
We shall see soon!

I wish you all a good weekend i think im going to love my PNP and i will report back when im medicated!

Greetings Bubbha, as someone said to me earlier in this thread; welcome to FC!

I was indeed the one who suggested we ought to have instructions to remove the battery in the PNP and the option to order a replacement. You are right, 50 mins battery life is probably fine for most moderate tokers. Heavier users like myself can also use umpteen different battery solutions to provide charging on the go.

The PNP is not able to give big hits like many desktop vapes, however, I can see how even when I get my Nano, the PNP will be my go to for on the go vaping. This is a limitation of battery powered vapes it seems, and nothing to be held against the PNP.

The PonG issue is serious. It seems that some PNPs may possibly run hot, this has been suggested by SticksnStones and seconded by myself. This could be the PonG issue. Let me tell you though that using my GonG is the only way I would ever consider using my PNP. I have had 3 melted/chipped PonGs, including a PES one which I shared a photo of earlier in this thread. I have presented ample evidence in the photo, I have detailed clearly where on the PonG gets damaged, which heats it gets damaged on and how it gets damaged. This is the problem with the PNP, basically the only problem (apart from as yet being unable to order a replacement battery). How big of a problem this is depends on who you ask, but for me, I would have returned my PNP if not for people here helping me to get a custom GonG so easily! Also, you are right about how the PonG's melt, the bullet conducting heat to the bottom screen in the PonG. After having had a while to look into it, the reason this happened on mine seems to be that the screens on the bottom of my bullets are uneven on some. Some as a result sit higher in the PNP chamber than others! This is a design flaw. I have never used my PNP in any way different to the instructions that came with the unit. I had melting PonG within a week or so.

Do yourself a favour, get a custom GonG made. There is no word on when TVB will have theirs out, and $30 odd is far better than the surprise gobfull of plastic I managed to get. Info is in this thread, if you need help finding it, give us a shout! With this, you will be sorted :)

Ratm22,
Ok these are two videos I made right after getting the PNP. I wasn't going to post then because they suck. But I must have got a cold one?

In used it on 4 because I was told 5 was just for concentrates. I wasn't pulling all that fast either? It filled up for a second then the vapor stops? That was a full bullet and it was packed a little.

Then I did a second vid because I thought I was pulling to hard. Nope same results.

@herbivore21 thanks man! I appreciate it sry i couldn't remember your name or i woulda gave you credit for that. And im glad you agree with the bullet issue. Do you know what i mean about using cotten and or a screen domed up out of the top of the bullet? Have you tryed this and had any issues?
Your defiantly right about the slight design flaw i can see how the bottom screens could vary by the bullet. Are those screens hard to mess with tho?
Like are u able to kind of mold them into a more
level sitting position? I feel like after doing all the research on the pnp i feel alot more confident about being able to make this PONG work right. at least untill i can get my hands on the GONG witch i definatly will do ASAP! :):):rockon:

Yeah pay more for something that is not warrantied and overpriced. I would like to find something around the house that would be just as good or better. I have so much electronic waste laying around I should be able to construct something. Vapor Blunt do you want to send me some schematics:brow:

I guess I should have not thrown out my old charger, but I wonder if the different units are paired with the same charger.
If it pulses that would be controlled by the unit and not the power source? Maybe I just need a large capacitor to handle its temperature ramp up.

The PNP chargers come in generic white box from China source and are unopened. A BFC is not going to help you unless your supply has too much ripple. The PNP power will modulate (0.5amp and then 2.5amp in 1 second heart beats) as it PWM controls the temperature...

Has anyone broke down and taken apart a PNP piece by piece? Im very curious to see how similar it is to the baker. Yesterday I fully broke down the baker and took pics for everyone in the thread and I havent been able to find any shots of the PNP to see how they compare.

@Ratm22 - @Sativape gave me an idea (reality check) I want to share. Take your 6v supply and add a series diode to drop voltage to approx 5.3V. Then let us know if that works...

The diameter of the bullet flange is less than the diameter of the MP and Pong metal screen, therefore I don't think the bullet is making direct contact with the MP and Pong.

I do use cotton sometimes but always use 2 domed screens at the top of the bullet, and I do this to ensure that the bullet does not come in contact with the MP and Pong screen.

EDIT, my bad... welcome to the PNP thread!

Very thorough and detailed message.

It was good reading.

Hi, and a warm welcome. You will find most folks are very helpful on FC. A wealth of info that you cannot find anywhere else.

I thought the same thing about the cotton. I don't use high temps, I haven't gone past heat level four and I use cotton always. I think it helps to insulate the plastic from the higher temps, it also keeps the unit cleaner, so you dont have that layer of boiling hot oil on plastic.

Several people stated that they would never use cotton, and didn't feel comfortable using it. We all have our own preference and use what works for us. Well cotton works for me.

It gets pretty heated in this thread at times. Congratulations on quitting combustion. So jump on and enjoy the ride.
