Reoccurring Dreams

Do any of you have reoccurring dreams? I have one that seems to resurrect in times of great stress.

I'm back at the University. It's finals time, and I'm searching for a class where the exam will take place. I've only been to class a few times over the term: it's going to be a disaster. I walk down silent halls; many closed doors - some rooms are open and filled with students silently scribbling like mad in their test books. A professor or monitor stands in front watching the students. As I pass by, a deep feeling of dread and failure descends upon me.

Finally I find the classroom. The professor doesn't recognize me, but hands me a test, nevertheless. I look at it and it is filled with indecipherable equations and questions filled with absolute nonsense words. My fellow students are totally engaged into taking the exam. Then I wake up, still feeling dread and shame until I remind myself I haven't been to college for over 30 years.

When I'm deep into a big work project, I tend to dream of doing what I've been doing all day w/o being able to get anywhere. Like running down a hallway and never getting to the end. I have also had a recurring theme to some dreams for years that is post apocalyptic. Never know what happened, just survival mode and trying to gather supplies and avoid people to get out of dodge.

I rarely dream(or at least rarely remember having a dream when I wake up), but as a kid I had a nightmare that I had multiple times.

the nightmare was that there were 2 of me, and I experienced both: one of me was being chased by a lion, while the other watched from the bushes. then the lion caught u witrh the me he was chasing, takes me down and starts eating/biting, while the other me is still watching from the bushes.

other than that, I can't remember ever having a reoccurring dream

Same here.

When I was a kid,
on three Halloween Nights in a row,
I had the same 3 dream sequences in a row.

Wish I was embellishing that story o__o

They weren't particularly frightening but definitely still nightmare-ish.

Let me preface by saying I'm a professional musician whose specialty often involves church music.

The dream is always the same. I'm standing across the street from a beautiful neo-gothic stone church. Suddenly, the doors open and I am drawn closer to the entrance by some force. I can see some of the beautiful interior, but not all of it. Great bells are ringing, clouds of incense are rising, and I hear a mighty organ playing. After that, the doors close and my body is drawn back from the entrance. I had this dream for almost 15 years at least once a month.

Cut to 10 years ago. I had left my previous position and was looking for a new one. A friend and fellow musician told me about a possible opening. My first visit was in the fall of 2003. When I first saw the church, I was a little stunned. It looked awfully familiar. The doors were already open, but I could see the beautiful interior, they had a set of huge bells that were ringing, incense was in the air and an immense organ was playing. The choir and music were absolutely glorious. I had found a musical home. After that day, the dream, which had recurred for 15 years, never happened again.

For my entire life, I have one recurring theme through my dreams..

they all involve a house. it's not always the same house, though the elements of secret passages/rooms and/or a separate living quarters within a larger house. Sometimes it's secret sub basement rooms, or a hidden door that leads to a separate living space. Occasionally, it's just opulence.

Generally, any dream that involves a house, involves plumbing. Usually large, amazing hot tubs, multi-level waterfall pools (this is in the bathroom), and non-functioning toilets.

I've done enough esoteric studies to get the gist of my subconscious, but sometimes the architectural details are pretty darned cool.

I'm flying, and the air is thick like pea soup. I realize I'm not flying in the air, but gliding through water. The whole universe is just water, and I'm swimming. Then I have coffee with Dennis Hopper.

yes very often i have same theme in one form or another i have powers mostly its just flying but just able to get a few feet off the ground oddest thing i guess is that i not sure if i am in my own dreams.

Oddest one i had was when i was a kid was a dream with just one scene a picture of my family
with someone missing from the picture but it was to blurry to make out who was missing had that dream for 6 months every night it little clearer as the months went but was too young to know what it meant or what to do about it , In the end at about the 5th month i could see who was missing from the picture was my sister she ran away some time ago .
On the 6 month we got a call from a hospital few states away that she was hit by a train
while in the backseat of a car, driver got out without problem. to this day i pretty sure she was killed by the guy she was seeing at the time but nothing i can do about it.

i remember every dream i have very clearly some are so good your don't to wake, others glad you woke up alive and the world really isn't on fire.

i believe dreams either are trying to tell you something or help you work something out rem sleep is very important without dreams you will go insane.

For one month when you first wake up record what happen in your dreams use something you can speak into, do not try to write down on paper or the dream could slip away.

there is a device you wear to bed that flashes lights at your eyes when you hit rem sleep(dreams) so you know your dreaming in short time you be able to control your dreams kinda cool.
