Ataxian I agree the stainless is far more durable, that's why I'm happy to have both soon. Ill bring the ss around others but ceramic is just for me. And it's not that the ss tastes bad, and with the wt it's rather delicious, but for me and everyone that I've had try it, the first rip off (before serious vapor production) the ceramic at level 2 with a real top shelf is the best tasting experience I've had with mj. And I've tried quite a bit in 5 years ive been growing in the medical scene in Seattle. Ill pay $120 to have that back in a heartbeat

Gee, I thought you had it longer. I would love to hear from some long time users of the ceramic bowl and the glass holding up. The rubbing can't be good and I am thinking to maybe use ed's stem in the 102 instead. I haven't broken my glass yet but it worries me every time I put it in. Taking it out doesn't seem to scrap as bad but I don't really know. If and when I clean my stem I will be able to see if there are actually scratches. The only issue using ed's stem is I burn myself as I always touch the bowl even with the glass.

Just an idea but maybe you could try putting a tiny bit of water/spit on the outside of the glass bowl right before you put the stem in. This would help with the rubbing and very small amount of water wont hurt anything.

OF I will do that challenge later today and see what I come up with...I might double fist it with the same strain of course in each. I don't even see chips cause the bowl is so dark on the 102 that you need to shine a light and even then I doubt without really inspecting I could tell if it is chipped or not. I guess I don't inspect my vapes like others do.

Cool. Please do. If possible also please swap stems a few times to be sure it's not in the bowl?

Fun idea. How does the 'cold hold up'? I'm thinking it's going to thaw long before I'm done. But, maybe a jacket of some sort with crushed ice and rock salt? Like the old 'U tube in the ice bath' trick from Chem lab? Like an old fashioned ice bag with the stem going through it......

For the truly serious maybe fluid cool it? Pump antifreeze through tubing around the stem and back into the can in the freezer....small tubes through the door gap past the gasket. Of course you'd have to vape in the kitchen....or move the refrigerator....but the clouds could be thicker.....

I too am a fan of freezing my J-hook. It usually only lasts the first 3-4 minutes of a session but its very pleasant while it lasts. I usually pop it in the freezer at night and use it for my morning sesh. I also recently purchased a DBV Saturn Glycerin Coil from the classifieds and that will hold its cold for about 20 minutes

Nothing beats a "rig" for dabs from what I understand. However, with the Solo, you can easily vape all types of super-concentrates. If there is concern about run off leaking into the device, gravity can be used to offset that risk.

For example, with a GonG you can use the Solo upside down, so any run-off would not leak into the device, rather it will leak down the GonG and into the water tool. This is how I roll. But I don't do straight concentrate, I buffer with leaf.

I don't want the complication of a rig. I would vape flowers more often if I had this I think but what I really want is one for bho. Is there a brand/model you think might be better while still being relatively portable?

Most people who just want a dab device that is simple use one of the dozens of brands of pens and the hundreds of bootleg fake brand pens. I've never had the desire to try one of the pens.

Da Vinci has "oil cans" specifically designed for concentrate use. They work as described, but the device is a mini-whip style draw portable. So no pure glass path etc...

The DV Ascent also has oil cans, but I cancelled my pre-order for that device.

Mine was pre-glow. But it's kinda red translucent and I have the f-BOMB mini stand to match it

@Pipes maybe for v3.1 HDMI 1.4? I keed, but next gen vapes could have some serious integration tech that would allow it to work with IR etc... Imagine upgrading the firmware on your vape with a wireless connection to a companion app on a mobile device?

Persei/Hercules SR71 cartridge combination hands down for flavor and power. No wicks, no wire haters, and completely user serviceable. Plus it's very portable and damn near indestructible.

+1 on how cool to pipes stands are! I was so stoked I bought 2 ha, which turned out perfect since now I'm getting 2 solos. They are awesome with the matching stem and f-bomb stands

If you own a solo then you need a pipes aio charger and stand set up for home use
Also need to add his customer service is great, helped me right away with my issue

Finally got the my Ryot axe pack case and all the rest of the vape goodies I ordered!And like I said a few pages back here are some pictures of the case. Damn It was a good week for me in the mail, I received- 2 Jyarz (these are great), a thermovape smooth-flow (pleastly suprised with it) , some doob tubes, 3 in 1 pipe cleaning tool, a pipes aio pa, and 2 straight pvhes which I love, and the 10 inch Ryot case. Big thanks to the forum as I found most of these items on here in the past couple weeks since I've joined.

The case fits my needs perfectly, super easy to access everything quickly, and fits everything safely I need for a day. On the inside one side is super padded with velcro straps to secure the solo and stems in (in travel cases loaded and capped), and a small padded hole for small glass. On the other side is a velcro strap for a grinder, small detachable zipper pouch, and small elastic bands to lock whaterer you want in place. Personally I also dig the outside a lot. Hard case with carbon fiber looking print, and on the back is a nice rolling or bowl preparing platform. In the 10 inch case it fit-
1 arizer solo
2 pvhes in travel tubes
1 thermovape smooth-flow in carrying tube
1 3 in 1 cleaning tool
1 4 piece sharpstone grinder
2 Jyarz
1 doob tube- These are perfect for dumping abv into on the go, they are perfect size for the solo stems
2 lighters
1 bag unfortunatly filled with a bit of tabacco
1 small pipe

everything pretty well has a spot except the Jyarz, but when closed they fit very snugly due to all the padding give.

stays cold enough for exactly one comfortable cycle at level 4. The higher the level the faster it looses its cool. Its usually colder than Ice for the first few minutes then goes to cold for a few minutes then cool. But like I said Its cold enough for one cycle start to finish. I usually use it for my early morning low temp session's since It pronounces the flavors through the bend and also as @ataxian states "it gives you more of a med mouth piece"

One thing I have been noticing is that I have been leaning towards bigger (volume wise) water pipes. my 18 inch beaker fill a decent chamber to carb while the smaller bubblers i have seem like wispy sipping's. I orignaly set aside my larger pieces for other vapes with less restriction but the solo fills better (although slower) that some of my desktop vapes.

This morning sucks a fat one. I hope I can get more free funds before the sale ends. Sigh.

Pelican 1200 series hard case. Costs as much or less than the Vapecase made for the Solo. Got mine for $39 on Amazon with free two day shipping

Ironically enough room for my Solo, Water Tool, stems, charger, etc... air tight, waterproof, and crush proof. All in a very small and non descript package

Trick is that the stuff needs to be IN the case for it to work.
