Any tips on the best way to reclaim the honey from the stem? I've seem a video a few pages back on torching the stem for a couple hits which looked kinda cool.
Any other ways?
Starting to get a fair build up and it just sits there teasing me.

Do you want pure reclaim?? If pure reclaim is your goal, I will get a mini jet torch lighter and do the heating stem thing. You can do it straight to your water tool and vaporize..... but be very very careful, from vaporizing to charring the reclaim is just a second. Happened to me twice with my regular torch. OF posted really good mini jet torches link....
or you can just use less heating power and slowly let it melt into a container. If you check my videos you can see clearly my stem reclaim and dab after. IMO one of the best ways to do your reclaim.
Vaping reclaim IMO takes forever in my Solo.
Or, you can get a wide mouth, tall enough mason jar, to hold a straight stock stem , and cover it with ISO, let it soak till gunk is gone. or brush to get faster results. Remember to brush inside the mason jar or top of a Pyrex dish, any lost drop of ISO carries reclaim with it
Dripping in the Pyrex dish is ok because you'll use it to evaporate your ISO and reclaim stays there.

I used Teflon tape to make up the difference.
Today I will go to the SMOKE SHOP and find a CHILLIN that fits more snug.
The orifices are various sizes.
I do love the flavor and effect achieved!

With the Chillum on the end its just awesome. The solo stem had direct heat that was recking my lips bad (women dont like dry lips touching them). The rounder end of the chillum is nice to put to your lips.

I ended up using a piece of EQ tubing that I bought a roll of (fda hi temp stuff) and the chillim fits super tight.

Now I want to chop my straight stem shorter so the added chilium helps me get close to stock lengths again. Also I have a tusk shaped chilium (curved) that im going to try next.

Thanks Zang. Sounds good. Actually I have a couple touches but think I'll wait for this one which I have on order. Just a cheapy but looks good..? By the time I get it the honey will be really ripe for the task.
Yes I do the ISO thing with my AVB and a french coffee strainer. No wastage here.

My thought exactly except I cant leave at the moment. Im also thinking pvhes shorty with a nice blown chillum would be nice functionally and a wow factor from the plain stem look

you could try to find a glass blower to make you a custom stem be either welding the 2 pieces together or just start from scratch. then you would still have an all glass vapor path

chillums have a very nice tiny neck in them. also the openings are smaller then stock solo stems. the reason im trying what ataxian is taking about is because we are flavor chasers. getting a custom piece blown would be awesome and also costly most likely. I would like to go and scout chilliums my self with maybe a caliper tool to get the perfect sized ones. My path is all glass except a small piece of High temp FDA tube I used as a seal.

New newbie user here looking to buy a Solo as my first vaporizer. The only concern I have is about the glass stem becoming loose over time. If this happened to me, could I just buy a new glass stem and it wouldn't be loose anymore? Or is it a problem on the Solo itself and I'd have to buy a whole new Solo if it gets bad?

How does the glass stem fitting work when you put a stem into the Solo for the first time? Does the chamber expand to fit the glass or does the glass like compress somehow? I don't know...

Anyone know of a good way to cut down the glass stem? wanted to build by own DIY GonG

When cutting glass, i use a Dremel tool and a diamond tipped round bit. It takes a little work but slow and steady wins the race.

It is not the stem that loosens over time but rather a ring inside the unit itself that gradually enlarges due to heat and friction.

But this can be fixed by installing an O-Ring like the one below. Samirfuzzywuzzy will even send you some for free if you give him your contact info. You can also buy these from planetvape or amazon. Installation instructions can be found on planetvape or in this very thread.

Hope that clears up the confusion.

Between the after market support, large knowledgeable user-base and great performance, it is hard not to love the Solo.

You mean put some heatshrink around the drip tip and stem? Because I would love to put a drip tip on my Solo. It just wouldn't seem right if I didn't shrink it down but then it probably wouldn't come off

And what about people having the stealth stem by PV?? Anyone before tried to snuggle it in a chillumm?? Those chillumms I'm guessing they go from wide to narrow airpath??? Correct?? I think I'm going to search online or LHS

Poon that was the whole point of the chillum to make them get the same airflow as the omi tip.

Fuzzy what stem is that cause it doesn't look like a solo stem? It looks tapered inside just like the chillum or is that just the lighting?

I think he is going to try but it may be cost prohibitive but we will see. In the mean while that is a nice thing to try. It mates just as easily as my glass straws.

Honestly you would be better off getting a professional product I dont think glass is a very DIY friendly material. So either a glass blower or just order from planet vape.

Sure. The classic way is to score it and snap it off. File a scratch where you want it to break, a 3 sided file is ideal, you want it to notch the surface, but not much more. File it until you can catch your fingernail on it? Maybe 1/16 inch long? More's OK, but not needed.

Now, the fun part. With the notch outward grip it in your fists, thumb nail to thumbnail opposite your scratch and 'tear' the tube in half like you were breaking a pencil. Hinge the move right on the tips of your thumbnails. The stress will build and run around the tube and it will cleave cleanly. In fact, leaving a nasty edge....which is traditionally 'fire polished' by heating it to near molten on the lip for a few seconds. That's how the stem is made now I bet. The scratch is probably done with a diamond there, but all you need is a weak point in the part you put in tension (pulling it apart) when you flex it.
