I've been circumcised, and honestly I am kind of bitter about it.

It's a ridiculous procedure, not rooted in anything but entrenched religious tradition but my parents, who are not even a real religious set of people got it done for me anyways while I was an infant. No real reason. We aren't Christian, and even if we were I don't think anyone should be choosing when a part of my dong gets lopped off but myself. It's ridiculous that we do this to children, pretending that it cures disease and stops us from being unclean when really it causes more problems than it solves.

I do sometimes wonder what I'm missing. Probably a lot of nerve tissue in that foreskin. Mosaic law or whatever probably lopped it off for that very reason (besides hygiene) - desensitize the little bastard somewhat to help raise thoughts above monkey time.

What you are missing, is the opportunity to provide your lover with a little extra toy to play with. You are also missing all the wonderful sensitivity that goes with that, :brow:

This is the voice in my head, all these years, that inspired this thread, thank you for that :)

I'll keep the clean cut look. Really wouldn't change it if I could, although I have heard of people going to extreme measures ... tying weights to their foreskin to stretch it out, etc.

Then there are some uncircumcised men that get cut as adults. Shit, it's one thing for a clueless little baby who doesn't know any better to deal with the pain, but as an adult! What a head trip that would be (similar to poor lwien's experience).

I'm cut

I'm pretty glad I was and definitely glad it happened while I was too young to care if it had to happen. Around here uncut is seen as "weird" by many women because it isn't very common. And I'm weird enough all ready .

Like a lot of people here I was cut "just because" my family isn't very religious at all. I just think here in the states a lot of people knew that the jewish population did it along with many other practices to keep their people healthy and clean, so many people adopted it assuming they were doing the best thing for their child.

I have wondered about the extra sensativity, but since it's always been this way I don't feel like I'm missing anything, so it was probably worth the questioning it saved me in sports locker rooms.

I guess for locker room snickers, it pays to be in the majority for sure. Us Americans tend to only care about..... well, us Americans.

However most the world is uncut, and in most countries the kid getting snickers in the locker room is the cut kid.

I know that when I've showcased my manhood in "non-cut" countries, it tends to get an odd reaction of "awww.... it's sooo cute!" :| It's amazing how many women in this world have never seen a circumcised penis. I'm on a mission to change that, btw. :brow:

He calls it lil stuie when its cold and big louie when all warmed up.

Edit: I was asked to describe what it felt like to rub a foreskin. It tingles delightfully, and is extremely sensitive. Hope that helps.

I feel like I need a shower now. So abused.

I'm cut. Same as most here, just because, not religious reasons.

Not sure how I would feel about making the decision for my child. It came up briefly in discussion with my wife years ago (she was against it). But we decided not to have kids, so it became a moot point.

Just realized that between being cut & snipped, I've had a lot of work done below the belt

Cut.

Ease of hygiene VS extra nerve endings
Can't say I know which is better.

I think the hygiene issue is a null point. Goucho cowboys would urinate while pinching their foreskin and shake it about to keep themselves cleaner on long trails. I've done it while camping, it's not a bidet by any means but it's better than going without and it works. Cleaning every day takes all of a second of retracting foreskin and cleaning.

As for sex, I've slept with women that prefer circumcised and uncircumcised. Some enjoyed the friction a circumcised penis gave them, while other enjoyed the gliding sensation an uncircumcised penis offered. When extremely aroused, my foreskin sets itself in the full back position and stays there, giving that friction i imagine it would be like for a circumcised penis.

Sensitivity, I imagine, is heightened for those not circumcised because it is projected at all times from rubbing against the inside of those Levi jeans. As for feeling in the foreskin itself, you're not missing much.

It's my personal belief that it's the decision of the person to cut off any body part they want when they want to, but I'm not going to subject any of my beliefs on a child I'll have one day who is not even cognisant enough to understand what's going on. I prefer my uncircumcised penis, my fiance seems pretty happy about it, and out of my handful of sexual partners I've never had a complaint.

But, a parting note: no foreskin is built the same. Some peoples foreskin are so tight it's uncomfortable or poses problems as far as sex, urinating, hygiene. Others have floppy ol' rubber bands hanging from 'em. If mine were on either side of the spectrum, I'd hapily snip it off, but seeing as mine is quite operational and exceptionally useful (especially going commando!) I think I'll let it stick around.

Enough dick talk for me. Enjoy your thread.

I'm thinking all these non religious folks are having it done simply to keep their son's package looking the same as theirs. I asked my dad and after his inital surprise that was his answer. If I had boys(I have all girls) I would have gone that route. It is really a barbaric practice with no benefit that I can see(cleanliness is BS...if you want it clean wash it!!), but I most likely would have had it done anyway. Kind of strange really...

uncut. it isn't really a choice here, I don't know anyone who got circumcised, and that's because I don't know any jews.

this whole conversation seems a bit strange/foreign to me for other reasons too though, the shower-room talk. I've never showered together with other men.

btw, why would it be more hygenic to be cut? I see that reason for circumcision used a lot by non-jewish americans online, but I never understood what difference that little piece of skin makes for hygiene.
