Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

I
I have been feeling frustrated with VXL for a while now but recently I have had more time to do some reflective thinking. Also I am not proclaiming myself to be an expert nor did I earn a degree in business. Now Cue the violin:

Originally placed my order for a Cloud a week before Thanksgiving in 2012, also choose the quickest delivery option. The cloud came into my possession the first week into February of 2013 but the Swagger Glass came two weeks afterwards. This occurred after keeping in touch with the VXL crew almost every week during those 4 months. Finally during January I had to create my own solution by having them treat my order has two separate ones and ship the actual Cloud itself first.

The unraveling of the cloud itself was a short moment of being relieved followed by more anxiety after taking a closer look at the vaporizer. The two metal halves were screwed together off kilter, so there is a space in-between that allows you to look inside. Then after a month of use I noticed the bamboo on bottom started to collect some sticky glue like substance. At this point I did not want to continue having combustion in my lifestyle so toughing it out with a (defective cloud).

For those 5 months that my cloud was being used the normal time of it staying activated averaged around 10 am in the morning until 11 pm at night making sure to reset the cloud when the device timed-out.

As of June 7th 2013 my Cloud has what we should adopt as (the red flash of death). Also the bamboo glass itself I noticed started to rotate itself inside the device when I had my glass attachment on. I can move it around even now since its not working.

What started to trouble me is that the ELB and how quickly the first two just destabilized. The actual metal threading began to come apart right where top lip comes out for the lid to close down on. So the next four that I ordered with two of them have a small hole around the lid area and the one of them has the threading coming apart. I also requested the fastest shipping option these got to me in two weeks.

I am comfortable in admitting I gave away more than 500 dollars to VXL. I think I am more upset about reading how VXL is asking people for more money just to upgrade the parts in order to repair it. If a person buys an apple product and it breaks within that first year the customer never gets asked to spend more to get a properly working product back.

I really question how their business is handled and how they choose their manufactures not only for their cloud unit but their ELB as well. Their foundations just do not seem to be well built ie: customer service because how many of us got emails or calls telling us their might be a defect with this line of clouds. Better yet how many of us got calls after our purchase to make sure we were / are completely satisfied with the product. Also who decided its a smart business move to spend money on novelty Livestrong bands to give as an apologetic gift. If you want to show the customer your sorry how about a discount on the items they actually are forced to buy: ELB’s.

Also seeing them putting more time and effort into getting public relations with twitter and conventions while they have inventory shortages is a head scratcher, because an ipod really needed to get attention at a convention rather than just have the customer do it by word of mouth. The marketing principal of: bad service and a customer tells 10 people definitely applies here.

What does it say about this business too if they are willing to put faulty clouds on the market for people to purchase?

This entire situation from what I have been reading about just does not smell right to me at all. As upset as I should be I guess I am not really that shocked since I had seen all these signs in front of me. So maybe I just truly feel like a victim of being robbed.

Time for a nice long break for myself since its looking like it will be 3 months if I sent it in now. If i was a betting man I would put all my money on me getting an actual proper working model on the anniversary of my purchase: November.

Please forgive these ramblings or rant from a sobering vaporizer snob.
I'm so happy I'm not the only one!!

What are the odds that a company that has intentions of "robbing" you actually built one of (if not the) best vaporizers that the world has ever seen?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Attacks insinuating theft are not taken lightly around these parts, so you may want to tone it down a bit.:2c:

Ayo, I saw you started a forum on grasscity too, it speaks volumes that this is happening not on just one forum.
550$ this should not happen to your 6 month old vape, it costs the same as a volcano

Last time we checked, VapeXhale had been double crossed by their manufacturer, that means they sabotaged units, and then they stole the plans of the next generation Cloud and tried to sell it. There is another manufacturer on this forum with a much higher infant mortality rate than the Cloud, and they have no such excuses.

Thank you for the advice Stu, I guess i am still a tad bitter about having wasted about 500 dollars and now have the option of combusting or going for a prescription medication to treat my herniated disc.

Just ignore them and they will disappear :)

Who said you wasted $500? Are you not going to send in your unit to get fixed? Damn it nevermind I broke my own rule!

FFS, I'm sick of people coming in and bitching about an OPTIONAL FEE that would upgrade them to a NEWER MODEL.

The fee is only for people who had an Original version of the cloud.
Can people stop comparing VXC (A small start-up company) with Apple (one of the biggest companies on the planet)??
If you bought an iPhone 5, and it broke, would you get an iPhone 5s as a replacement?
NO. You'd get either the same model iPhone 5, or you'd be offered to UPGRADE to a 5s for a FEE.

Yes, the current cloud situation sucks, but VXC isn't robbing anyone. If they were, they'd be selling dodgey units right now...

It speaks volumes that the same person can post a problem on 2 different forums?

It just happened to me this last friday night. So I would be sending it in sometime this week and it'd get there next week. How many other clouds are already in their inventory to be fixed though. With the three months waiting time that's at the very least September. Based of the experience I've had with them September is a joke.

I havent sent mine back from when it broke last month, maybe I should but eh. I am still disappointed my Cloud only lasted 2 weeks. After hearing the 3 months wait thing, I kind of stopped caring and lost hope until I see something that says different. Had to get used to the HA again. I feel scammed but also think it was just horrible timing. Nothing else really to say except damn the manufacture! I would appreciate an update over anything else though.

I think that they have been pretty responsible about it, actually. There's a big difference between an excuse and an explanation, and most of the posts that are excusing VXH from blame are being made by users and not the employees of the company.

That just happened...
I got lucky and got a very early hand built model that has proven reliable but I can only imagine spending $500, receiving a defective product and then being told there is no way to replace or repair it for the foreseeable future. Maybe three months but honestly it could be considerably longer. That's not speculation just going by their track record.

I remember a lot of people buying these and then not being able to get parts and/or warranty service.

thank you for affirming my emotions Live-n-Learn. Just feeling disheveled and In the phase of not caring about it as much. Let us just hope the VXL team can keep up us updated by using their Twitter and Facebook feed efficiently.

CentiZen: I don't see VXL being very responsible in light of them aware of this defect issue. Are we seeing them doing anything to eliminate the line of defective clouds on the market available to purchase from its distributors? I also recall that VXL confirmed that all Clouds available for purchase from distributors are the defective Cloud +. They aren't buying these back to make sure no one else has to experience this same situation or so they don't keep digging their own grave deeper and deeper with amount of clouds that have to be repaired vs new ones sold. Perhaps that is asking too much for a company to apply the Good Samaritan law for their customers.
Because when people get hepatitis from consuming a bag of organic frozen berries, Costco still allowed those available for purchase right?

As a user and feeling used I lay almost all the blame on the manufacturer but I certainly don't see VXL being entirely innocent if not an accessory.

Keep in mind that FC is a microcosm of Cloud issues. There are many functioning units out there that a performing flawlessly. You just don't read about those. "Squeaky wheel gets the grease", as the saying goes.

I'm sure they just dont know which ones are faulty so they cant recall. That and they probably want to use the money from the released units to move forward and find a solution to the problem. I took the time to email them about returning the Cloud and asking for an update, but didnt get an answer on an update. Sucks. I'm at the point where I am considering, NOT decided yet, but it crossed my mind, that I may just sell my Cloud after an eventual repair, because of the trauma of this whole process. I wont go crazy but a lot will be based on how well the Sublimator proves to be. The Cloud was awesome, but I cant deal with this headache, and if it happened again I might go crazy. :freak:

VXL did not confirm that "all Clouds available for purchase from distributors are the defective Cloud +" [Emphasis mine] That would be because many (most?) Cloud+ units aren't defective. I inspected two of them myself and they looked flawless to me. I also asked the distributor and was told that they had sold 100 of the Cloud+ without a single complaint or return. By your reasoning, VXL should buy back all of those perfectly good units. I don't know their finances but I'm pretty sure they couldn't afford to buy back every Cloud+ even if that would help—which frankly, I can't see how it would.

Your analogy with Costco and berries doesn't work. A defective Cloud does not equal a serious health risk. Acting as you suggest would mean the end of VXL to the benefit of no one except the pirate competitors.

I certainly hope they work out their issues. I used one of these a year ago at a party and it was hands down the best vape, in numerous aspects, that I have ever used.

It's by far the best vape I've ever owned. It's unfortunate that there are the issues at hand but what some people are doing here is potentially hurting the future of VXL with slander. Their in a tough enough spot - I would not want to be a mod in this forum, they certainly have their work cut out for them! My suggestion, if you have something potentially harmful to the company send it in a PM to either someone from VXL or a Mod, at least they could tell you what and whether you should post. Some of us use the cloud for medicating serious health issues - don't take that away from us!

Good luck VXL, I know you'll put this shit together.
