BTW ~ on the customer service system if any of you don't know I'm Phil. I want to apologize to everyone if you guys have trouble getting a hold of me at times, or if possibly I seem distracted on the phone.
I'd just like to say that I only spoke with Phil once (very recently), and he was far from distracted. On the contrary he gave me as much time as I needed and answered all my questions (regarding a warranty issue). His responses and updates via email were spot on also.

My experience with Vape-X's customer service system was tops in every way!

Thanks Phil for all you do!

Anyone doubting how good the Cloud is... My entire glass collection has been acquired since getting my ticker unit back in aug 12.

The glass industry should give a HUGE thanks to VXL for fueling 1000's if not 10's or 100's of thousands of dollars in sales! Shoot I have already amassed well over 5K or more worth of glass myself!! All because of the cloud...and my sickness continues.......... #GAS/VAS

I doubt that anyone has dropped multiple HT's to get a comparison. They're all pretty thick glass. I wouldn't worry about how well they bounce. I'd just be careful with it, especially when it comes to trusting other people with it (and the Cloud).

Not a lot of people have that. It wasn't produced until later on, and the Cloud unit alone (plus mouthpiece) also hasn't been available that long. The majority of Cloud owners bought the package- Cloud and HT. For most of its history, that's the only way it came.

I was mainly wondering if anyone had any measurements for the other HT's. On the VX site it says the Evolvers are 5 mm thick, so I was curious how thick the other ones were in mm's. The Evolvers seem to look the most durable.

Hey Buddy - welcome to the forum and your Avatar is a classic! "rockie r-oa-d"

I wouldn't hold your breath for sub 200 glass from VXC. They have exquisite quality glass attachments and usually get glass from big name blowers. Even their VXC brand glass is top notch! And with that being said, the quality makes the price well worth it.

HEY YOU GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYS! :haw:

Thanks for the welcome, I appreciate it. :)

As far as the glassware goes, I've had probably ~ 20 glass pieces (pipes, bongs, bubblers, side-cars, steam rollers, etc.) over the years, and I have one left, haha.

Last piece I purchased was a 2 1/2 ft Glass Head percolated bong and the actual percolator broke. How the hell does that even happen? Just from normal use, and I didn't even use it that much.

I will officially be apart of the Cloud family in just a couple of hours. Can't wait! :freak:

BTW, did you register your warranty via the website's form? Is that the best way to do it?

When does the warranty actually start? Is it based off of serial numbers or based off of when you purchased it, or when you received it or what?

Also, I'd just like to say I really respect the way VX is handling all this by being very upfront and honest with their customers/potential customers. Makes me trust them more. That's a type of honesty/openness you don't really see much of.

If you bought it direct your warranty is automatic. Its also based on date of purchase, not serial numbers.

BTW - if I unwrapped that Baby Ruth and she was inside it would definitely be death by boner for me!

I'm officially in the Clouds! :ko:

I have to say, this thing is pretty awesome.

One issue, however. My unit has a terrible smell and taste to it.

At first I thought it was the glass mouthpiece that was dirty, because I smelled the mouthpiece and it smelled horrible. So I washed it out real good with 91% iso. Then I go to vape again, same issue.

So then I think it's the ELB making some kind of funky smell and taste, so I soaked the ELB in iso for like 5 minutes and rinsed it really good, and washed the mouthpiece, again, with iso and rock salt. But this smell and taste still persists.

I think it's coming from inside unless it's the ELB itself giving off the smell and taste when it heats up. Whatever it is, it sticks to the inside of the mouthpiece. After you use the mouthpiece once, you can take it off and smell it all over the inside of the mouthpiece.

If I leave my Cloud on and the ELB in, the smell builds up inside, and when I pull the ELB off you smell it even stronger. It's a really bad smell and taste. I can't even describe it, very unique and odd.

Perhaps this will eventually go away? Is there any safe way to clean the inside of the Cloud?

that's fucked up. search this thread for cleaning the bamboo. there a couple of methods, I think.

you shouldn't have to do that out of the box, but given the situation vxl is in, you're better off just cleaning it yourself.

It's like some kind of outgassing/electrical/plastic smell/taste. Pretty grody.

To be sure it's not the ELB, I could just torch it with a lighter, yeah?

I'm going to leave it on max for a bit to see if this smell/taste burns off.

Could I soak a pipe cleaner in iso and then safely run it down the middle of the Cloud?

I have the cloud and the xp and I'll tell you the cloud is definitely worth the money. If you like big hitters then the cloud is where it's at. The nice thing about the cloud IMHO is that you can use it with water or without, you can fill with just flowers or add kief, or you can vape kief all by itself. You can even do dabs out of the cloud!! It is so versatile!! Plus for friends you don't have to explain anything but "suck" and you can fill and fill and fill and it will keep up with you the whole way.

This was very helpful ty just about there....okay I think I can look past loosing a good indicator for when it was heating {the clicking} - not +....and look past the indicator that it has reached its set temperature {light turns green way too soon} another - not +....and look past a shorter power cord {I read the reasons but still} another - not +...... Not really helping then finally some + news from Stu the outside is 10 degrees cooler ok +.....oh yea and it seems to be ready sooner although {quicker heat up time} or just about the same so + maybe.....
And look past spotty QA issues which would eventually lead to CS issues and now to top all of this off production fallout WOW and then there is that + $ holly crap really.....
I completely appreciate SM's candor and honesty but really this thing could go a couple of different ways. things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmm.

Wait to see what comes out of the wash....and if so back to the EQ or the Vap2.0 but will either of them contend with my XP? ugggg.... sleep on it some more...

It smelled like machinery oil or something. I think it was coming off of the outside of the inner casing, but I'm not sure about that. It was noticeable for a day or so.... or I was too stoned to notice anymore.

I would just crank it all the way up and leave it on for a couple of cycles (3 hours or so). That will probably burn up anything that's possibly off gassing. Hopefully that works for you...

I see why people love this thing so much now.

If this bad smell/taste goes away, this thing will be damn near perfect.

Fantastic job, VX!

The bad smell/taste already seems to be dissipating. I'm leaving it on max for awhile. Going to wash my ELB and mouthpiece again, too.

So my initial impressions, this thing is fabulous. My SSV seems like work compared to the Cloud.

With my SSV I would occasionally combust trying to get the absolute most out of my bud. That doesn't seem like it's going to be an issue with the Cloud. The PHS is incredible and not a gimmick, and is the best thing about the Cloud, IMO. With the SSV, you have to learn how to use it, and develop skill with how you hit it. The Cloud is so easy to use. If you can't properly use the Cloud, then you're either brain-dead or one of Stu's friends (http://tinyurl.com/arxddlb).

With my SSV I was always having to pay attention to how slow or fast, hard or soft I was hitting it, and I was always looking at my whip to make sure I wasn't combusting, which really takes away from the relaxing part of vaping; not to mention all the stirring, stirring, stirring, stirring, stirring. With the Cloud I can turn my brain off and just vape.

And the ABV gets dark, dark brown, evenly all over, without even stirring! Fantastic! I actually don't see why you would ever really need to stir it, unless you don't grind up your herb finely. It seems just taking it out and shaking it would suffice, and has. I'm also not questioning whether or not I got my herb completely vaped or not. Every time I have dumped my ELB it has been dark dark dark brown. Me likey. I'm so glad I don't have to stir anymore. With the SSV I was stirring every hit, and my bud never vaped evenly, consistently, or completely. That's not an issue with the Cloud.

I also love how short and direct the passage is from the chamber to your mouth. Shorter passage way means less time and area for your vapor to lose potency from the goodies attaching their selves to the walls of whatever apparatus you're using to inhale from, in my case the VX glass mouthpiece.

I'm actually pissed I didn't get one sooner. This is what I was originally looking for in a vape - all glass passage (well, except the ELB), versatility, a system that prevented accidental combustion, direct draw, a vaporizer that would evenly vape the bud all over and consistently to a dark, dark brown, and something else that I just now forgot about.

The PHS is the best thing about it though, IMHO.

Looks like my SSV is getting benched.

Okay, I'm too high to write anymore. Each sentence is taking an absurd amount of time to complete.

If this bad taste/smell goes away, then my Cloud will be damn close to perfection.

Only other vaporizer I could see being better then this would be one that worked like a bubble machine. One you could put as little or as much herb as you would like and then it would produce bubbles filled with super thick dense vapor. So you could put like a quarter in there and make an entire room fill up with vapor bubbles. And the bubbles were magical and never popped. Any time you would want a hit, you would just grab a bubble, put it up to your mouth, and inhale. The bubbles also kept the vapor magically fresh no matter how long they floated in the air. And the bubbles would do dances around the room, and bump into each other. Then you could turn off the lights and set up some different colored lasers in your room that were timed to the rhythm of whatever song you were playing. Yeah, that vaporizer would be badass.

Edit: @ Old School

I was in the same boat as you, really wanting a Cloud, but hesitant to pull the trigger because it was a brand new product, company, and they have had some reliability issues with some of their units and their manufacturers, along with their current new trouble/problems.

But these guys are clearly making a vape for the vape connoisseur which, ironically enough, makes it perfect for the average schmo. It seems they actually care about what they do. This gotta be the most versatile vape. You can hold it, put a wand-like mouth piece on it, or a bong, or actually attach it to a completely different vaping tool, upside down, side ways, up right. And the coolest thing is all that is easy to do. There's nothing complex or difficult about it. There is literally no learning curve to this thing.

But if you're anything like me, if you wait, once you eventually do get it, you're going to be pissed you wasted all that time, which, in your head, is going to correlate to you thinking you wasted bud, or at least it does for me. My SSV didn't get my bud nearly this dark brown, and when it did, I really had to work for it, and I was always concerned whether or not I was extracting all the goodness. With the Cloud, I have peace of mind, and that's the best thing about it. That and the PHS.

Main thing is you want a backup vape, which it looks like you have.

Okay, so now I have my main driver (Cloud) and my backup desktop unit (SSV), now I just need a portable one, which I think is going to be the Ascent if it out performs the Solo.

I 100% agree with this sentiment.

And good golly miss molly, I freakin' love the  Cloud.

This might be considered sacrilege to say here, just because of how highly it is recommended, but I feel like I wasted $, time, and ganja on the SSV. I should have just went with my gut and got the Cloud originally, and for a backup perhaps a Solo instead of the SSV. But at least I know I have a backup unit that may virtually never fail. But, fuck, as good as this Cloud is, I could have justified getting another Cloud as a backup. Oh well, c'est la vie.

The best thing my 7th grade social studies teacher ever taught me was to go with your gut-instinct :spidey: or your first decision. Of course he was using it in the context of when you're taking multiple choice tests, but it applies to everyday life. You gotta look at the bright side of life, though, and at least I got to try a whip vape and see what all the hub-bub was about.

But the hype around the Cloud is very much warranted. Coming from a critical, nitpicky, no-patience, easily frustrated, micro-detail whore... it's the real deal, folks.

Hats off to VX! Now go find a good manufacturer, and make sure to write up a really good, professionally done, legally-binding contract with whoever you guys go with. Dontcha just love getting advice from the peanut gallery? :p (I'm only referring to myself, BTW)

Also, this:

Now I think it's time for some

Can't wait to wake n vake with my Cloud! (hopefully the stank will have burned off by then, lol)

My replacement unit was shipped out Friday! I received it Monday!! Worth noting, considering they continued to offer A+++ service to a customer while a pig was shitting thru their fan.
Thanks Bryan and Phil!

Due to the nature of VapeXHale's news, I hesitate to shout out my wonderful experience knowing some of you won't be able to experience it, temporarily, but the wait will hopefully be short and the guy's good work should not go unheralded.

So, after a long journey, I've arrived on Stratos and it was well worth the time and the fare! I'm still getting to know this gem, the different temp settings, on the Hydrotube, on the Mobius, on the DG Frit, and with the dry mouthpiece, and so far just blown away by it's simplicity. Love the all glass path, love the steel ELBs, and the colossal lungfuls of vibrant flavor, it's clear why people retire their old faithfuls when this enters their stable!
I run it at about 2:00 to get massive cloud production, a warm up five or ten minutes past the green light definitely makes a difference, love the dry mouthpiece but the piece is such a heavy hitter I go back to water often. This is the piece I'd pull out and crank to max to convert combusters, not that it would combust, though. Just produce thick blasts of vapor and consistent ABV.

Any tips on the best way to load the ELBs. I'm spoiled by the Solo, UD, and Hot Pod in that, to load, you merely draw material up into the stem with an inhale. With the ELBs, I'm laying out ground material long and thin on a glossy card, laying the ELB down on it's side with it's mouth facing the end of the line of material, bending the card into a semi-circle to roughly cradle the ELB and line of material, then tilting/pushing the load into the chamber with the face of my fingernail.
My preference is to touch my material as little as possible so wondered what cool loading techniques the brilliant minds on FC have come up with.
Thanks for sharing in advance.

Before I set course for the sister city, Bespin, I hope we as a community may play some part in VapeXHale's recovery, whether spreading the good word or directing consumers away from the crooks who did this if/when they try to market their bastard child.

Please keep us posted guys.

I shouldn't be up still, but I'm still Cloudin'. :ko:

I'm in love.

I've had it for less than a day and I'm ready to get up on the roof-tops and shout it out.

Honestly, it's exactly what I was looking for/wanting.

As far as packing up the ELB's, I grind up a good little portion in my Hamilton Beach and I dump it out on a glass plate, and then I push it into a tall mound with a laminated card, then I use the top cap of the ELB to push finely ground herb into the larger portion.

I'm still beating myself up that I didn't get the Cloud sooner.

I'm looking at a big ass bag of ABV from my SSV and it's a way lighter brown. The ABV that comes out of my Cloud is damn-near black. It's so much more efficient. I'm tempted to stick some of this old ABV in the Cloud and see how much vapor is left in it. The fact that the Cloud gets the ABV almost black without combusting is absolutely amazing, and without any effort. I would have to work my ass off, in comparison, with the SSV to get it dark brown, and it was still 4 shades lighter than this stuff.

I very much <3 the Cloud.

Any tips on the best way to load the ELBs.

I use an Arizer Elbow Adapter that came with my Extreme Q. An ELB fits in it perfectly. Add a foot or two of tubing and use it like a vacuum cleaner to suck up your herb. If you don't have one they sell for around $9 at various sites that sell the Q. Here's what it looks like w/out tubing or the ELB inserted. I know someone has posted a better photo but this should help.

I always put my ground up bud in a small bowl or plastic container, and just scoop the herb receptacle of whatever vape I'm using through it.
