They cancelled my order. Is the only place to get hydratubes from there site?

No, I informed another member about a week ago glassblowersdirect.com makes a HT for $100 and even a fritted HT that looks sweet for $225. There's a pic of it two pages back or two. So, who's going to be the guinea pig?!?

We've informed Glass Blowers Direct that they are in violation of our pending patent. Whether or not people dispute that we can patent our HydraTube design is up to the USPTO to decide but we always ask that you support companies like Evolver, Swagger, and SoulShine Family Glass who have reached out to us over the appropriate channels to make glass pieces that we all enjoy. We aren't trying to prevent any glass blower from putting food on their table but we work on a licensing model and only ask that they go through the appropriate channels to become an approved glass blower for VapeXhale products. With that said, we got some cool designs that we will be revealing over the next few weeks :D

Just thought I'd post an update.
So ... all this being said ... am I happy with the product I've received and the level of customer service I have received?

Well ... the short answer is "Yes" ... VXL has tried (within reason) to make me a happy customer and has tried to make amends where they can, and have done the best they can (I believe based on my observations and how busy they are) to keep me updated on what's going on. Has it been perfect? Hell no! I was without a working Cloud for almost 2 months despite having bought a backup unit to specifically avoid this situation ... this is far from ideal ... that being said ... this is by no means intentional on there part and I don't feel they've deceived me ... just things didn't work out perfectly every step of the way.

I do feel that they were overly optimistic and gave me the overly optimistic message at times when they should have probably been more conservative which made my life difficult as far as planning, but apart from that, the reasons for the delays I believe were real and sometimes things just spiral out of control and no matter what you focus on you leave other things behind so you are left just trying to do the best one can while trying to retain one's sanity (this is just my outside impression of things ...)

This is definitely the area that will hold VXL back, don't know if Phil is the only customer service guy but they really need to up there game cause either hes overwhelmed or just not meant for CS personality wise, the few times Ive talked to him on the phone always feel like I'm imposing on him with issues ive faced. Hopefully they can continue to ramp up and get a true customer service team in place cause they are not handling the CS load very well recently.

Two old school first generation clicking units still running strong here, no issues. People are always more likely to chime in when they have issues and need resolution. Satisfied customers like myself are much less likely to put their input in. I think this is a good representation of why you see issues voiced here on FC.

I still consider myself so lucky to have been one of the first people in the world to use and test the VXC, and to even have some of my input incorporated into the final design. Keep Clouding ya'll.

For everyone that is taking my post as negative (or that's how it appears), please read again; although the handling of my issue(s) wasn't perfect, and the fact that I had 2 Clouds die in such a short period of time is also far from perfect, I did also indicate that VXL, in my estimation, did everything they could within reason to get my issues resolved quickly and in the end they've done their best to make amends and have treated me fairly and equitably and have communicated relatively well throughout the process.

It's worth noting that the point of failure on my prior 2 Clouds has been replaced with a more robust component (the mainboard is a new design by the way as that's one of the key components upgraded from Cloud to Cloud+ from my understanding); so hopefully that means these 2 Clouds won't suffer the same fate. It's also worth noting that it may have something to do with the stability of the voltage so I've started using a voltage regulator (APC Line-R 1200) to eliminate that possible problem point.

I'm still a strong supporter of VXL and will remain so. I hope the next time I require service it will be much more expedient, but sometimes shit happens that's out of our control. (I sent my unit in when they were in the process of switching manufacturing facilities, starting international production, ..., and not everything went smoothly and I unfortunately suffered an extended wait time through no fault of VXL's). With any luck I won't have to ever send these 2 units in for service, but if I do, I'm sure VXL will do their best to get me back up and running as quickly as possible and barring all the obstacles they were facing at the time of my last services, it should go much better :)

You can't make everyone happy. Would everyone be happier if they increased the size of their team (being such a small team) and increased the price of the Cloud to cover the extra costs? ... I actually think this would make some people happy ... but probably not the majority ... it's tough to run and manage a small business with a small team while working other jobs (I can attest to that) and some amount of leeway and empathy should be extended in my opinion ... just my 2 cents.

Just got some really bad news from VXL. It seems they had to axe their current manufacturer and are currently looking for a new one. But in the mean time they are basically building units by hand again and they anticipate being back up and running in 3 months time!!! Damn so I guess I need to wait 3 months just to send in my faultly cloud. Thank god it still kind of works otherwise I would be really pissed!! Not that I could do anything about it, it still sucks. Just a heads up for anyone looking to buy a cloud or get their's repaired.

Yes by Phil in an email yesterday.

well damn, I was talking to brian through email last week and was told "The sooner you get your unit out the faster we can process it." Just emailed him again , I'm praying somehow I'm not gonna be waiting 3 months :uhoh:

The slight wobble is intentional and shouldn't affect the seal at the bottom. I read that you had plugged the bottom and that there was still air leakage so there is definitely a problem with your unit. In regards to your drawing, you are absolutely correct. We use a male 19/22 joint and the female joints in the HydraTubes are 19/26 joints. The first number is the diameter of the male joint (same) the second number depicts the length of the grind (22mm versus 26mm). We did this on purpose to avoid joint lock but again, in your situation, it looks like a poorly made male ground glass joint.

We are currently awaiting more glass and happy to replace your unit when we have the parts in stock. I apologize for any hassles this may have caused you.
SM55, No need to apologize and I appreciate your response... PM sent!

I heard the same thing regarding the issue I posted about a few pages back - clicker unit died and he said they probably won't have the parts to fix it for at least three months. I know it is out of their hands, but I'm certainly disappointed that I will be without my Cloud for the entire summer. :(

Yea see at least I'm lucky there because my cloud still works. It just overheats or whatever sometimes and goes into christmas mode as we like to call it in my house. So then I need to wait till its 100% cooled before I can use it again. Sometimes it zonks out of it but mostly it just blinks away and I have to put it by the fan until into completely cooled.

JCat's post makes me wonder... how long is the Cloud suppose to last?

Does anyone have a Cloud from release that's still going strong?

Generally the goal is for the average longevity (given a reasonable standard deviation) to correlate with warranty period. The Cloud+ comes with a 2-yr warranty and a 1-yr Extended Warranty option, so it's reasonable to expect the planned lifecyle to be at least that long.

My Cloud has been perfect since July. I purchased the Plus upgrade but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Aside from the very important warranty extension, the new features haven't been compelling enough to me given that my quiet ticker still works so well and that . . .

. . . I've feared this might be coming. There have been signs of process mis-alignment between VXL and their production contractor, or worse yet, contractor execution issues or IMO possibly even malfeasance. And the issues appear to extend into the supply chain as well. For a small company like VXL, especially considering it has very little manufacturing experience itself, this presents a major mgmt problem on multiple levels. IME there needs to be qualified engineering expertise engaged in the selection and on-going oversight of contractors. I sure am hoping that will be the case in the coming months.

As has been discussed in this thread ad nauseum, the Showercap has the best flavor least diffusion, the swagger double / devastator have the most diffusion. It's really about which style you like (and more importantly, what you can afford and what is actually available).

If you are not a glass aficionado, any choice will be great. And I assume, if you were an aficionado, you would already have made your choice. LOL. I chose the Evolver HydraTree (version 1) myself and have no regrets.

Thanks, yes was after the straight soul shine or the swagger double but both sold out so trying to decide between the rest.

I have the "old" straight hydracirc HT and absolutely love it. It is my daily driver along with using my Mobius Ion a few times a week, also. You really can't go wrong with any of the HT's...
