Oh wait, is that what that annoying thing was that got in the way every now and then?

I just fast forwarded automatically when that happened, my mousehand seems to have a mind of it's own at times.

Didn't want to derail the grinder thread with further discussion of pollen boxes so figured I create this one.

Been in the market for one myself for both a grinder dump AND for some dry sifting, and was interested in the Hazemaker boxes until following up on the mention of the Exotic Zombie line..... now THAT looks awesome & love the idea of a removable catch tray

Found a seller within Canada for the EZ's and might pull the trigger next week unless others have reasons not to. They sell them here: http://trimmerpro.com/pollen-extractors/pollen-sifter-boxes.html

So I'd like to hear what others have been using, and their likes/dislikes (especially if owning one of these Exotic Zombie's).

Also, if those of you who DO have an EZ... when you chose your 'size', was that the internal or overall outside dimension size ?

TIA for sharing......

There is some good info. in this old thread. In fact, I suppose yours could be combined with it.

I'm going to write my own review of the EZ in a couple days, but the review here is pretty spot on. My only difference of opinion is that the 7x7 might not be big enough to not be a little awkward at times. The 7" width is fine, but I might like a 9" length instead ()... but then, that might just be too big (get it out of the gutter!)..... I'll think about that for a while and get back to you....

My overall outside is 7 x 7.... the actual workspace is about 5.5 x 5.5

OOOP's I did search out if a threads was created already or not but guess my 'search-foo' wasn't up to the task with the terminology I used........ I'll ask a mod to merge this one with the older one.

Thanks, but my wallet burned a hole in my pocket and I went ahead and order the 10x10 EZ box from trimmerpro since they are in Canada. I doubt I'll be disappointed in my buy ;)

Sweet! With a 10 x 10, I think you are definitely set!

I don't know how it works buying through that distributor.... but when I bought mine directly, it took exactly two weeks until it shipped. I did not get any notification that my order was received other than from PayPal, and was notified by PayPal when it shipped. No E-mails from Exotic Zombie, even though at one point I rather impatiently asked for an order update. In their FAQs, it sorta spells out that they don't care much for order updates, in my opinion. I'm just mentioning it because it may take a while, but they ARE working on it, and man.... when you get it, and feel how HEAVY the thing is, you're going to just LOVE it. They also have a Facebook page and a Twitter page, if you want to ever try to communicate with them there.

Also, you might want to let it sit out, open, for a day or two. The thing has a major (and lovely) wood smell when you first unwrap it that decreases but stays semi-noticeable and that surprisingly does not seem to impart on the herb...

Well.... just wanted to report back on my purchase of the EZ which I havn't received yet and most likely won't for another week because Trimmerpro.com IS ONLY A DROP SHIP COMPANY FOR THAT PRODUCT !!!!

Really pisses me off because a) I expected to receive the product within a couple days via UPS from a 'claimed' authorized distributor within Canada and located in Montreal, and b) I paid more for the product when I could have ordered direct from EZ with better options of wood offerings for less money AND received the same approx shipping times.

I'll most likely be very happy with the product itself based on reviews/comments of them, but just wanted to vent on my dealings with Trimmerpro.com for what "I" consider to be a bait & switch experience (not product, but with their implied service).

WEAK! Sorry about your experience, dude... but what do you expect when you live in frickin' Canada?! I mean... seriously!

But really, that totally sucks... hopefully your experience will at least help others. :)

The good news is that it will be worth the time and trouble.

And it certainly was.........

Instead of Red Oak I received a Mahogany one which suits me fine because I like that woodgrain. The 10x10 I got works like a charm !! Very nice light colored kief.

The removable catch glass and removable screen are the cats arse.... very easy to use. I was a little disappointed the glass was clear instead of dark tint, but that can be rectified easy enough.

I will say this though... as much as I am pleased with my purchase, I truly believe I can make one of these for less and have a 'cleaner' finish. I'll have to look into that when I finish my workshop this summer. Even TrimmerPro said they'd gladly purchase from a quality Canadian supplier.... soooooooo, it's begging an attempt.

The darker glass would be a nice touch.

Maybe it will be on my next pollen box - imported from Canada!

Still rockin the EZ box :freak: although I find I prefer manually sifting it instead of shaking the box... personal choice I suppose ;) and I do like it quite a bit.

I do intend to play with manufacturing one myself this year with tighter tolerances for better piece fitment, along with some tweaks to better the design.

To anyone who does not own a pollen box:

After enjoying my Exotic Zombie Pollen Box for a few months now, I have come to equate it with something of a savings account. Now, yes, it can be fun to spend your kif all at once, but it is also smart to squirrel some of it away for a rainy day / dry spell, ESPECIALLY if you live in a non-MMJ state...

...And I can already get more than medicated enough after grinding, dumping and sifting through for any sticks that are just too icky to allow near my precious, precious vapes. Hell, just using it as a workstation helps you catch not only kif but also all those little bits that try to escape. So I can truly save for "emergencies" ...

...What I like to do is scrape the kif off the mirror every few days or so and then keep it in an airtight jar...

...And when I hit that next dry spell, you're damn straight that I'm going to be grateful for every little speck of kif that I've managed to save. I'm going to be so happy that I'll have something to get me through these troubling and uncertain times of ours...

YOU GOTTA THINK ABOUT YOUR FUTURE, MAN! :myday:

Overall, I'm still very pleased. I wish I had spent just a little more though and picked up a 10x10 in a walnut. If you're looking into EZ, I would say that it's worth it to just go all out and get a big size in whatever style you like best, otherwise you're just going to end up wanting a second one!

But yeah... I've come to love my pollen box as much as I love my vapes and my glass. It is a part of the ritual, the family and the overall enjoyment. An extension of myself! :ko:

But smokum is definitely right about them needing dark glass to show off the kif. That would be a huge improvement.

Now... if I could just teach my little savings account to start collecting interest...

PS. Not one single person has seen my pollen box without wanting to hold it. You know what I'm talkin' about.

For those who are too cheap or just want something that sifts keif you could make a simple 12" x 12" square out of 1.5" x 1.5" pieces of wood and attach some stainless steel silkscreen screening to it and make a nice large light keif shaker.

I prefer my simple homemade setup because it works better when running trim through it as it's larger and lighter to facilitate easier shaking. The keif boxes have a home and work great for small personal amounts but when dealing with larger amounts it can get very tiring.

I have a buddies sifter box that was cheap and creates golden keif. Yeah, its not finished that well but its functional, not an ornament. I was looking at ryot boxes but my situation doesn't allow for it to be left lying around so not worth the money for a pretty box.

If you dont have a keif box your losing out! You'll be amazed how quickly it builds up. I dont even sift I just brush the keif from the edges of my SCS 2 piece and Ive got 3 5ml jars full in a little over 2 months. Its being saved for jelly hash! I dont have bubble bags so keif will have to do!

How is a sifter box going to affect someone who's already got a fairly large 4 piece grinder? I wouldn't mind getting one but if its basically just a larger version of the bottom half of my grinder i dont see the appeal...

Makes sifting easier if you have bulk, that way you can grind and leave the remnants to dry in your grinder....

Decided to do a quick video on my Exotic Zombie box. I absolutely love this thing!
How long do you normally keep it in the box to dry it for vaping? Also you mentioned that you wouldn't buy the 7x7 size if you intended to use the box as a primary stash container, would you go bigger, or smaller if you were gonna do that? And if I chose to keep my stash in here like I would a jar, how dry would it get? Fully crispy, or just more dry than a bag or jar? Thanks for your review, they look awesome!

Boxes works great as a work station...

Visually, they're also a lot more appealing, in my opinion. They're also great conversation starters!

If you're big into sifting, these are much easier, as SSVUN said...

But yeah, in many if not all respects, the sifter/pollen box is unnecessary. Like many of the herb accessories we all buy. But they sure are wicked cool!

And the $70 I spent on my EZ PB has made me quite satisfied with myself. And $70 is a small price to pay for self-esteem!

Furthermore, someone at some point said something about it being a savings account for rainy days....

I placed the order for my Exotic Zombie Red Oak 7x7 box!! I'm so excited!! I plan to use my box to dry 1/4 ounces at a time for grinding and storing in Jyarz (ready to be vaped). Then I will collect the keef from the Zombie and my SCS and store that in a Jyar as well!

if I wanted to store my herbs in a kief box (up to 1.3 oz's), what dimension of a box would I get? Would 7x7 suffice? Thanks!

I have a 10 x 10 and dump an oz on the screen to dry to sift. That way it lays out across the screen surface fairly evenly.

Don't think 'I' wld use the box for storage myself as I like 'some' moisture to my vaping and it would be near dust by the time I'd finish an oz personally. But for the purpose of kiefing it works out fine.

i am looking into shaker boxes for small (.25-1oz) dry ice extractions. just curious if anyone can suggest any. i see all kinds available. stuff on ebay. i would just go with a bucket and a single mesh bag, but i like that the box is enclosed until opened.

anyway, just looking for suggestions. considering making one as well. so what do you use and why?
