@Adobewan, the expression was sincere.. a Bender full of LSD (strain) will soften a man's expression. I think at 2:43 was when I realized I would need to wait a second or two before resuming for a properly heated MONSTER hit.

can't comment as i have never used a solo. however, as it has an all-glass airpath which is more than even the cloud can boast, (never tried that one either) i'd put my money on it. it's definitely a manual driver and i have combusted with mine, but i also use a mcfinn's carbon filter with mine. w/out water filtration i haven't had anything tastier. provided you don't burn. each hammer cart is gonna have it's own resistance, just as each normal cart has variances, so this may not be true for you. the iris is gonna make this sucker perfect for. others may suffer due to some voltage loss in the head. i don't know if i'd pay the full price for the bender, but i got mine at half off and i vape oil more than flower. fwiw. it is tasty as hell, tho

Has anyones persei top freaked out when using adapters, the led on my top stays on randomly for a few seconds and dims slowly!!
Also noticed that the pin inside the top that makes contact with the battery gets really hot when this freakout occurs!!????
Iam using a 601 to 510 adapter with a 1.8 ohm ecig tank, completely stumped, opened up a ticket with delta9!

I have a persei and a omicron v1 and i only smoke about a g of wax a week and i have a 2.4 ohm cart and i feel like it works better on the omicron v1 doing the 6 seconds let go 6 second trick... damn that v1 hits hard as hell haha oh and is the sexiest omicron they made.

Who made the adapter? How new is the Persei?
I remember a while back "KT" had some adapter problems, this is all 'ringing a bell' but I can't put my finger on it. IIRC it was traced to the TV adapter not matching the socket on the Persei well. The fix involved a change to the socket I think.
From your description it sounds like the adapter is shorting out the connector but not doing a good enough job to trip the Persei short circuit protection??
Then again, I could easily be way wide of the mark here. But electrically what you're doing should be fine.....if you can get the mechanical part to work.

I have had a top give out when using an adapter and an extension.
I had to replace the top.
I'm not sure but I suspect that I tightened the adapter too much and the center pin shifted until it made contact with the outside of the adapter.
I predded the button and the top let out a puff of smoke leading me to believe it was short circuited somehow.

I can not get a good connection using an adapter on my persei, so I just stopped trying. Mine will blink if it has a bad connection and if you tighten down the adapter it just blinks. Probably better than burning out for sure, but it has made it so I really can't use other threads on the persei. It's not a huge bother, just thought it was worth mentioning. Looking forward to the Herc, shouldn't be much longer... My main concern with the Herc/flower is combustion since it is supposed to have direct contact with the heat rod. I am sure I will find out soon enough, good thing our supply is back up again for the learning curve.

What's the old joke about 'interchangeable parts aren't'? I'm still recalling something about the connector in the Persei getting wrecked somehow (pin broke loose and stayed shorted out inside??) but I'm pretty sure THC changed the design to prevent that part.
I also recall some folks found the order you screw stuff together mattered. I think the winner was to put the adapter on Persei fully first then screw the cart on???
Good luck, I hope you sort it out, it's a great option to have IMO, expands what you can do with the tool.
