Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

alright i love how once you heat it up it takes 10-15 sec to cooldown and during that time you can just keep puffing lightly on it. The glass head makes it feel like a glass sherlock so hell yah to that toooo. There is a cleasning tool that im still figuring out but besides that im so happy with this product cant wait for everyone else to have it!!!!

oh the cleaning tool is also used for mixing the herb around. The o rings im talking about are in this little zip lock bag. There is one medium sized red one and 2 small clear ones.

Watch out those are high vilocity o rings that are being tested for outer space since persei is so far away.

Any explanation as to what we should be getting with the bender, any special instructions we should know before we get it in our hands??

If D9V did their job as i explained it, it should be a simple install hammer and run it.

But now that i think of it, i would do a burn off on the hammer first.

how long can it be on before it gets too hot for herbs? Just wondering where the threshold is, and if there was any combustion, what was the main reason?

Well i did try to combust on the hammers. Because of tolerance +/- 0.2 ohms on the hammers ranging from 1.5-1.9 ohms its a little difficult to tell.

But for the most part i would say as long as air is flowing it will take longer to combust then without air. I do 15 second warm up then start inhaling. Then i regulate with the button if i need more flavor or vapor. Remember you can combust it if you dont inhale and hold the button, or hold the button long enough and inhale slowly. I am rambling but i would say its pretty easy to master as it took me 2-3 bowls to get it down on the first day.

Bender has just landed!

I day to go from Santa Clarita to the beach. Not bad for Postal Slackers.

I wonder what accessory goes in the empty round space in the packaging? I have the Bender w/pouch, O-rings, hammer rod, grinder and cleaning bore brush. The glass work is solid and amazing.

Now the hard part: Which strain is first up?
Choices, choices.

9 strains and only one Bender Baby!

 Enjoy FM! Please come back soon with an update!

Thanks for the run down G, I know this was covered a while back, but felt it wouldn't hurt to refresh the o'l memory for those of us with a few extra cobwebs...

Now remember these are still Version 1 and who ever buys these units will have an option to trade them in for the next version for a small upgrade fee. We are doing it this way to get feedback on the devices itself so that we can make it better, there is only 200 pcs and we have started production on them.

The Iris V1's Will have a 60 day warranty.

Sign me up G! :science:
I hope the pass though system is next, should be easier with VV head?
Why is the warranty only 60 days what about a year or life?

Its in Santa Clarita OF. Its on its way boss.

On a side note Iris update.

Guys testing is confirmed for the Iris VV top. It is now stable and working as expected. We have fixed all issues.

Battery Voltage 7.9v

Using AW IMR 18350's

Testing at 3.5v 1.5 ohm carto. Output voltage under load is 3.5v +/- 0.1v

Testing at 5.0v 1.5 ohm carto. Output voltage under load is 5.0v +/- 0.1v

Testing at 6.0v 1.5 ohm carto. Output voltage under load is 5.9v +/- 0.1v

Testing at 7.0v 2.4 ohm carto. Output voltage under load is 7.0v +/- 0.1v

Tesring at 7.4v 2.4 ohm carto. Output voltage under load is 7.3v +/- 0.1v

As long as battery voltage is above the set voltage on the top you will get a constant voltage.

Also options include ohm testing, Watts output, battery voltage check, 3.5v-7.4v range, you can turn the blue led light on or off, short circuit protection, maximum 1.2 ohm load.

Yup, me too, looking forward to it. I'm not sure it's going to be a 'best match' though. I think that honor will remain with Persei. My thinking is raw power is the call, at least for the first 15 or more seconds. The key part of this is G saying "As long as battery voltage is above the set voltage on the top you will get a constant voltage.". By how much? That number (how much higher the battery needs to be over the output voltage) is often called 'overhead' or 'headroom'. With Persei that number is pretty small, .3 Volts. The numbers above might say it's bigger here? If so, we know already even a few tenths of a volt can make a real difference sometimes.

Where I think it will really shine is underdriving high output Omicron carts. Being able to protect them from being hammered by 'hot off the charger' batteries and delivering a constant 'tuned to needs' level of output will be big pluses. Guys will be able to 'sneak up' on too hot. Back off at the first sign of cooking the oil too hard. And change the output when they change concentrates. Drive PG loaded carts at lower voltages than ones with wax, which in turn would be driven less hard than shatter?

Time will tell. Already wondering what version 2 we'll be able to upgrade to is all about......how about you?

Oil, Glass & I'm a bit of an ass
First post so I'll start with Hello!

Wanted to report that I have gone through 2 full battery cycles with The Bender with various strains and I must say that (and this is coming from someone who thinks volcano hits taste so bad its like wasting flower to use one) The Bender retains more flavor than any device I have ever smoked or vaped though. It is a bit of a pain in the butt to use with the regular top so I'll probably get a hammer top. I wouldn't think it would be that hard to implement a multi-click-to-stay-on feature and let us stick to one single top for both.

A couple suggestions: Include some instructions before someone smashes their glass by trying to force the hammer with cap up the hole (kinky)

A scary experience: When the batteries are fully expended in a Bender session they do not simply cut off at x% remaining like with a regular cart; they run until the blue light can't stay illuminated. When placed in the charger, at least in my experience, the charger's light remained green for a solid hour before finally going red to indicate charging. The batteries finally did recharge and seem fine.

I will report tomorrow on getting bent. And that's a good thing because the keys are blurry! I ran 2 sets of AW IMR's down. Very medicated and calm atm. Found some great things about it (like flavor, why not to grind too fine and how tight to load it - a key to adjusting the flavor and vapor density).

I use a cheap but super effective charger that does magic at recovering dead batteries: The Nitecore Intellicharger i4 V2 ($25-27usd) that does 4 channels. (4 different sized batteries at once too) Charge times are 70% of the stock D9 one. Good for multiple battery owners.

My 1st suggestion: A screen that's of finer, consistant mesh. The glass screen isn't consistent in it's hole size.. I breathed in a few bits.. I'm sure there is a classy - glassy solution.

BTW: I now know what Blue Dream and Thin Mints really taste like.... and it's NOT smoke. ;)

Nighty night

Howdy, welcome to the fun. Thanks for the report, something to look forward to for sure.

What you describe is 'par for the course'. These IMR batteries are unprotected. Discharging them too far isn't fatal the first time like the other chemistries that need protection, but it is to be avoided as it does damage them somewhat each time. Much more important in our case is keeping them in pairs. Running the Persei 'into the mud' can discharge one battery before the other if you're not careful, then the one with charge remaining tries to charge the dead one backwards..... Not good.

So keep them in pairs, fully recharge both at the same time (avoid at all costs a partially used one being paired with a fresh one and run hard), and don't push the charge (have a spare set handy so you're not tempted to beat up the ones getting soft) and your batteries will love you back and make you happy.

Okay, combustion fuckers, I took the Bender for a nice test drive. Mind---> BLOWN! :ko:

I'm not a hype man, yet my friends tell me that I have a penchant for hyperbole. No lie, though- it took me half an hour to write the last few sentences. :lmao:

I loaded a little more than .5 g and giggled like a Japanese school girl as I held the button for 15 seconds, anticipating that first hit. :D

+1 to what OM and FM have said- the vapor is pretty damn delicious.

It ain't rocket science to get your technique on point, but I would think twice about giving this to a vape rookie. This is a TOMV! Familiarity with how vapor feels and how hot it "should be" really helps when developing a sense for when to pulse the button. By the second .5 g bowl, I felt pretty good about finding that sweet spot. Actually, I felt reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally good. :smug:

This thing vapes nicely even when the button is OFF! The Hammer top's no joke; once it's properly warmed up, the Hammer+Bender hits like a champ.

I'm far from a glass aficionado, but imo this is some dope work. You have a perfect view of the load so it's easy to gauge how dark it's getting. The tool that comes with the Bender works perfectly for stirring, almost as if they included it for that reason...

Great Scott!

I want mine so bad. I'm guessing monday-tuesday. It's in boston somewhere.

EDIT: Refreshed the page one more time for good luck and its in my town. Maybe I'll have it for this weekend!

Any quick easy guide to going from a persei to a bender? What is the setup like? Simple to do once I see it? Mine IS coming today so I'm really excited. Perfect day to test it out. I'll do a burnoff, but can someone post a pic of what comes with it perhaps? Or even an assembled unit?

I'm already trying to find someone to go see a movie with me later so I can do the "movie test" which for me is seeing how long the effects last into a movie. Enjoyable way to test for me.
