PUFFiT portable

I got my silicone replacements in two full weeks. Postmark in HK said they shipped right when he said it would. Its just that slow

How was it to install?

As far as calling the company "shady", I may have misspoke. For that, I apologize. I DID have a strange customer service experience where I was being helped then communication stopped. I considered this "shady" on their part. Don't have evidence but it happened, so, figured I'd let people in on that information.

1) This company is shady as all hell. I tried contacting them initially through the conversations here then at their email address. At first they are great, "Yeah we'll help you just ship it back here or we'll send you the new silicone ring if you take full responsibility if you break it". Not really keen on shipping it back to Hong Kong and waiting until god knows when to maybe get it back one day, I opted for the latter option. When I gave them my address and everything... nothing. I've emailed them repeatedly just to see if anything's on the way. Nothing. It's been a full week now since I last heard anything at all from them. Maybe they sent something, but if they did why wouldn't one of their customer service people just tell me that in an email. "We sent the part you'll need, it'll be there in 7-10 days, blahblah blah". Nope... they just cut off communication.

if you want a replacement i would deal with GotVape, not them. Also, they were nothing but completely up-front and honest with me; they probably get tons of emails a day with the problems that have arisen, so answering your "DID YOU SHIP IT YET DID YOU SHIT IT YET?" is probably low on their priorities.

3) This thing is not a great vape. It's ultra stealth and convenient, but it's got this tiny airway with no real flow behind it. Its hard to get really great hits on this thing. I know people say they do. And I'm not here to call people a liar. If anything I believe you because these things are so inconsistent from a manufacturing standpoint you might have gotten the Golden Puffit that actually does what it's supposed to do.

yours may not be a great vape. When i had mine and it was functioning well, it was a great vape. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who is looking for a primary vaporizer to use at home when relaxing. no. for that you want a stationary vaporizer.

For some reason people have forgotten this is a PORTABLE vaporizer, meaning its not supposed to function like a stationary. This isn't a good first vaporizer, because of the learning curve, unless your looking for stealth (if you're living in a dorm or parents etc).

I have had 3 stationary vaporizers before this, and now want a stealthy portable one, and the PUFFIT is perfect.

What do you think of the device reckon its worth it if theres no plastic taste? Does it get the job done?

I'll tell you right here, its completely worth it in my eyes. I got mine, wasn't too happy, then i cleaned it, and started to get some clouds. I spent about 1 day with it functioning pretty well, and based of that day i would recommend it to someone who needs the stealth. It gets the job done very well, and i find myself really missing it during the day. i'm always asking "ugh, where's my puffit!!?".

i sent mine back to get replaced with the new batch, because i could. GotVape and the guys over at DiscreteVape set me up with a replacement. I got free shipping to return it, and free shipping back to me with the replacement. So my new Puffit should be coming today or tomorrow. A user posted above saying there is a newer looking silicone being used that doesn't appear to smell, so we'll see how this goes. I currently do not have one, but it's on the way. I'm pretty sure i didn't get the first batch, because i got the one with the fixed battery indicator, but theyve made another update, and i wanted that one.

Bottom line: I got one that seemed to work (besides a battery issue), and it was great. I don't like the MFLB, so this looked like a great portable vaporizer; it is. Sucks that so many people are having issues with it, but i'd recommend it.

as in dumb as
easy install bigvapes. the instructions are good and the vapor tube had a new metal mouthpc nipple.
the vapor tube is 1/4 OD x 1/8 ID. I am going to get a few feet of it and replace rather than clean.

It isnt a go to vape for me, its a med delivery when nothing else would be accepted

I would rather have the hundred bucks and go see ThermoCoreTim if truth be told

For the dumb person in the crowd what does OD and ID stand for on the tube size?

Gee ok maybe not so dumb...is it outer diameter and inner diameter? Do you need both to get the right size or really just the ID if I am right?

No, sir. I just don't want to be screwed over. If the manufacturer not only addressed but fixed a problem with the taste of the device, I feel I should be offered a fix too. And to a point, I was.

I thought their customer service was a little suspect when I dealt with them. I was getting this great email correspondence, which eventually led to me agreeing to have parts sent to my home. I sent an email with my address attached and that was the last I heard of them. Today, I'm talking to them but again, I sent an email with my address on it and NOTHING AFTER THAT. No "Ok it's finalized we'll send you those parts out. Expect it in 14-20 business days". Nothing. Even though I specifically just asked for the two minutes it would take to write up an email like that. I simply think that's odd.

I've talked about the device in previous posts in a rather positive light. I think if you fix the taste it's an o.k. device depending on what you need. It's the single stealthiest vape I've ever seen, it's just not a particularly efficient one. It doesn't deliver great hits and the battery life to charge time isn't the best. As far as hits go, I think I'm far from the only person saying there are much better portable vapes. So I think it's unfair to say that I am somehow wrong for addressing the fact that this thing does NOT deliver the best hits found in a portable vape. Still, I think there's an audience that would get great use out of this device. Namely, ME! I am not disparaging this device or the company that makes it. I'm saying it doesn't give the great hits some of the videos and promotional material might have you believe. And also, I said that the customer service was weird. Because it was.

They're a start up company, and Google detective work says they have less than ten employees.
They couldnt properly handle a mishap of such proportion......

I can't wait till version 4, I will pass on 2 and 3 as well lol. I am still hoping that this company or some other gets this type of vape right because it will be a huge seller for stealthiness.

If all the negative feedback doesnt kill em, I hope they stay around and get a US center.

But i believe this forum can Damn near make or break the sales of a vape, and thus the company's future.

In short....keep us happy:)

Slightly Medicated

(SliM) Iron Lungs
I got the replacement parts in yesterday. I took my device apart and did a complete replacement of all the silicone parts. I am 100% sure the silicone ring around the bowl was the culprit. Once it was isolated away from the rest of the device you could tell it was the source of the noxious odor.

Doing the replacement was not that complicated. I am technically minded though, and I would not attempt doing a repair if you are not somewhat comfortable with taking apart electronic devices. Once I got the new silicone in place and the device closed up, I gave the device a proper cleaning. I ran a test run. Unfortunately, the new parts still have a slight odor/taste as well. I would say it is 50%-60% better then than the previous version. I think with some regular use it will mostly diminish.

I am still going to be doing a video review. Bottom line though I can't recommend this vaporizer to anyone. Aside from the taste/odor, I don't think it preforms very well at all. If you are a medical patient you are going to find this device extremely unsatisfying. After browning .25 grams of flowers I get maybe 1-3 decent hits. After every session I am left with a slight buzz, not nearly strong enough to be satisfying for most users. I feel like an entire .25 grams in the PUFFiT hits me about as hard as one or two hits off many of my other portables. It really wastes your medicine.

I want the company to be success, so I have a hard time writing something so negative. I hope they can make another version of the PUFFiT. I feel like they need to go back to the drawing board for the next one. They need to improve:

The Internals (Remove the silicone vapor tube)
Battery Life (Improve the battery life)
Performance (Make it hit harder. People like the option to have thicker vapor hits. Not even an option with the current device.)
Ease of Cleaning (Make it easier to clean)
Improve Battery Indicator (Currently useless)

This product has potential, but currently I feel like it falls extremely short.

I am still going to do a video review. I want to continue to test the device out. I am hoping with some a little seasoning (breaking in) the device will start to preform better.

I don't know if mine will be that negative when GV ships my new one, but you make many good points.
I hope DiscreetVape bounces back and becomes a successful portable competitor

Slim can you explain how if the medicine is getting used we don't get the same effect?

I am also hoping the company doesn't fail and goes back to the drawing board. The idea is great but they need to make it work.

There could be lots of contributing factors. The temperature the device gets to can affect the actives compounds released.

There is still allot of actives left in the flowers when I am done with my session in the PUFFiT(on the highest temperature setting). I can put the herb in other devices and get allot more actives/hits out of it. I honestly don't think the medicine is even really being fully utilized/vaporized in this unit. I think it browning the flowers, but not releasing enough of the actives.

The only way I can get visible vapor from this device is to constantly power cycle it. When I inhale I draw extremely slowly. With the amount I am using though, I should feel significantly more medicated then I do after each session.

The customer service dept contacted me yesterday. For whatever reason communication ceased, it seems to be back up and working again. I should get my parts within the next week or two so when I do, I'll make the repair and post my feelings on how it went and everything.

I wish I had more to report, but I just wanted to be honest with the FC community. I told you guys when I thought they were ignoring me so I figured I should let you know that once they became aware of the problem, they contacted me and tried to fix it.

Since slim knows a lot I would trust him. I wrote to you on the INH thread just get it and sell your new puffit when it comes in. Since it is new you can get the full retail price. If they ever get it right then you can buy a new one then. If you prefer get the pax. They both seem to make happy customers. I just don't want to deal with sticking mouth pieces and buttons. I am extremely happy with my INH. I am so happy I haven't combusted since I got it weeks ago which has never happened since that is the fastest way to get the meds in when having spasms. The INH seems to get them in just as fast even at low temp.

You only have to come up with about a hundred bucks not even if you sell the puffit for full price. You can still get the discount I believe from Taylor and you don't need the extra capsules as long as you don't abuse them. Cut out that cup of coffee and sodas for a week or two or whatever other junk you buy out of the house and you will be good to go.

that IF he can find a buyer for his Puffit. after reading the reviews here many people will not want to buy one for sure. if i didn't buy mine already before all the reviews i wouldn't have purchased it. i use mine and it works... but i am certainly not thrilled with it and i am not sure i could sell it if i wanted to.

Well I've been using the puffit for a couple days now and I'm enjoying it. It still seems like a lot of money and hasn't reached the "it was worth it" point yet but I like it more each time I use it. There also seems to be a learning curve that I wasn't expecting. I've found that I would put my tongue right infront of the silver ring and inhale that way but the vapor wasn't being absorbed into my lungs.(very light vapor - glitch/feature?) So I could taste it but not become very medicated. This morning though I used it as if it was an inhaler and had much better results. As I have said before this is my first vape but I am enjoying it.

Pros:
  • Stealthy
  • Light/Portable
Cons:
  • Battery
  • LED in the sunlight
Pros/Cons
  • No clouds(stealth/not effective)
EDIT:
Having a fucking blast with the puffit. Gets better each time.

Hahaha this is how i was too!

As you keep using it, you realize it's a pretty damn awesome unit when it works as marketed. And are you still not getting clouds? i was able to get clouds once i got past the learning curve.

To everyone, there is a learning curve, and like this poster said, you always find yourself liking the puffit more and more as you use it.

If the new unit performs a bit better than my last one, i'm confident it will be more than worth it.

I recently posted a customer review on GotVape because i got an email from them asking me to. it was not a glowing review but i was not mean or malicious either. The review is not posted yet as they are having an issue with their database, so they say, but someone from GV reached out to me and identified himself as the individual that helped bring the Puffit to market and was the one doing the demo in the GV Puffit video. he asked me why i did not like it. i identified all my issues but stressed the main reason was the "hitting from a hot snorkel" taste was the main reason for my disappointment. he wants me to be happy with the unit so he offered ro RMA my current unit under the 1yr Warranty and send me a new one from a newly received batch he told me. I think i am going to take him up on the offer cause it sounds like a win-win situation. i may get back a good tasting, better working unit. i have other vapes so i could be without this one for a while if needed, but how long could it be?? i'm not sending it back to Hong Kong so it can't be that long.
