Nice write up Steve!

I only use a portable about once or twice a week if that, and I love cleaning my toys, so this bad boy should be a perfect fit.

Queer in a high haze
Really not into packing it tight as with my vg I'd use around .1-.17g, anything more seems to much for one session imho.

not sure what you guys are putting in your pax's, but i've been using some high quality mary-jane and have never had a mouth-piece sticking issue, haven't had any sticky button issue, honestly haven't had any issues at all. are you guys with sticky mouth-pieces regularly using your device upside down (using it with a waterpipe?) or are you using waxes/oils? i have put small amounts of wax in with the bud and never had any sticking issues before, so idk what to suggest lol. best of luck.

i've only cleaned my device once a little over a week ago, been going strong since.

Any chance of getting your 10% off code from your order confirmation email from Vaporstore (at the bottom) if you are not using it? Would like to order one as well. Please PM me.
Thanks.

hey John sorry I took so long to answer, I was checking for the coupon code but I don't see one...neither the conformation, purchase invoice or shipping conformation...will check the purchase order on there site to see if it's there.

Well my purple one came today so I charged it up and tried it out. I was playing with all of the pulling techniques talked about here and before I knew it I had taken about ten pulls. Now seriously over medicated. I'm going to have to watch that from now on. Some early thoughts follow as well as a direct comparison to my Puffit.

It's very nice looking and seems to be well built, heats up fast, and hits hard. There was some off-gassing which surprised me a lot, but the taste was pure. It does taste slightly better than the Puffit, but not significantly. It is nicer looking than the Puffit as well but I don't give that any real value. I'd say a tie in the looks and taste department. The Pax looks better, but the Puffit is way more stealthy especially if you put a prescription drug label on it like I did to mine.

The draw on the Puffit is way nicer than the Pax with no special technique required other than a slow steady draw. Ease of medication, ease of loading, and ease of use is about the same. Puffit wins in ease of charging with the USB port giving multiple charging options including ability to charge in other countries with different currents.

Neither is very useful with water tools although I haven't tried making any adapters yet. Puffit is far easier to clean and needs cleaning less often, and us also in less peril from lack if cleaning as the Pax is more easily damaged in the heat switch and mouthpiece area when not cleaned often.

The most critical difference is that the Puffit is more than one hundred dollars less expensive. For many this will be a significant difference.

Bottom line is neither will disappoint you or fail to get you where you need to be with stealth and ease. If you're a bit of a maintenance slouch I recommend the Puffit as it is more forgiving. If you're super sensitive to taste then stay with the Pax as some have said the taste of the Puffit is off-putting. If money is critical the iPuffit is also for you.
Me? I love them both and would buy either again. Neither us a clear winner or loser. It remains to be seen which will become my daily driver. Your mileage may vary.

:uhh: an interesting puffit comparison indeed. On the other hand, browsing that thread points to a rather unbiased dislike for that particular device, but what do I know, you have them both, I have neither. As well, it's unfortunate you would also be unlucky enough to be the first to claim "off gassing" on your pax ploom. Btw I was reading a lot more descriptive words for the taste on that other unit you mentioned than "off-putting". Most everyone here has been reporting great flavor in their hits. Thanks for your thoughts, will keep in mind.

Yea, nice compariso. I originally was looking at the Puffit, but the Pax was just way nicer. BTW, I have bringing it to work everyday and it works like a charm!

nothing Jonah Hex sorry man, looks like they are not giving them out at this time..
Thanks for looking.
I guess they must have stopped giving out the discount code. Haven't ordered anything from them in about 7 or 8 months, but they have given me a 10% off code with the order confirmation every time I have placed an order before.

Kushcabbage. I was being fair to the taste complainers because mine had no plastic taste at all and no off gassing. Maybe I'm lucky and got a good one, or maybe I have no taste buds. Either way I have found nothing to bitch about with my Puffit and I have used it a lot. Perhaps with more use I'll find things I like better with the Pax. I just wanted to present my thoughts on both personally. As I mention in the post YMMV.

Up to you but consider most of those are people who just got their Pax, mine seems to work even smoother after heavy use:

I'm pretty sure these sticking mouthpieces are some kind of defect, mine has gone through more than half an ounce and I've only done a single cleaning of the heater and inside of stem, I just wiped the top of that spring outside the stem because it was only barely yellow. I wonder if the spring is binding or twisting or something and that's what's holding it closed, I just don't see liquid resin build-up holding the spring back...

Been using mine since Friday night with no cleaning yet. It's hitting great, but I think it's time. In fact, I'm gonna go grab it now...

My Pax just came! Got to play around with it a bit, and upon giving it a shake to check the battery, the oven lid flew off and I spent a couple minutes searching for it lol. When I'm off of my break and actually have precious herb in the chamber I pray I'll remember to just shake it gently ...

I still think it's a great product and an engineering marvel to say the least from what I've seen and read. cleanliness is next to Godliness as they always say, and you should take pride on what you spend your money on, with that being said, it can only get better as far AS PLOOM PRODUCTS, and they have made a huge dent in the vaporizing field in such a short time, that is a feat within itself, I will clean mine and enjoy top shelf bud in it, Sour D all the way.

I agree, it is a great product and a engineering marvel and I can hardley wait for the fucture products from ploom. And I do take pride on what I spend my money on, as all my vapes and glass are sparkling. All I am saying is for me to own this vape and work properly I would have to clean it every day sometimes twice if the reviews are correct at this time. So for me I guess I will wait. But thanks for the input, I appreiciate it.

You're hanging on the input of one or two first time users, I clean mine once a week or less with zero issues... almost an ounce through it...

I think some people are getting things mixed up here. NOT EVERYONE is having the sticking issues. Ive been using mine for a week now, everyday, MULTIPLE times a day, not one problem yet. Personally, i think once a week is fine for cleaning and im a heavy user 1/4-1/2 O per week. I use ONLY herb, no oil or any of that. Like i mentioned before all these problems are likely arising from the user not letting their Pax's cool before charging them. DO NOT TURNOVER THE PAX (mouthpiece facing down) WHILE IT IS HOT! All these people cleaning after 2-3 ovens are freaking OCD'ing like crazy, you mofos. I got this device because i did not want to baby sit it and so far so good. Another lil "trick" ill share with FC is for people who only like to vape with .2g ish. When i load a new oven i usually get to about half of the oven with it packed down, then grab some of the ABV you just took out and fill the rest half the oven, pack it nicely. Instead of leaving half the oven empty and vaping it. This lil method has yielded me great results. Anyways, HAPPY VAPING! Anybody on the fence is a moron and is missing the FUCK OUT! Peace & Love KUSH! :)

i have been using my pax constantly as my primary go-to device for the last 2 weeks (since i got it), i don't see how anyone can say it would need frequent cleaning, although ploom does suggest if you are using moist "tobacco" that it may require more frequent cleaning, the herbs i've been using are completely dried/cured properly.

also, @Ontariovapes, why did you even use the device if it off-gassed? you should return it and get one that doesn't offgas; after all you did purchase a device with a 10 year warranty.

well said brian I actually described someones problem on here regarding the vapor path and sticky mouthpiece to their support and got this back.. note I replaced a word or two.

"As long as you keep the mouthpiece and vapor path nice and clean, you should not experience any trouble. We recommend high quality "pipe tobacco(kush)" for use the with Pax. Gooier "tobacco(kush)" tends to get the device dirty quite quickly, but if you are willing to clean it thoroughly it should not be a problem.

Let us know if you have any other questions or comments.

Happy Paxing!"

A couple guys dont know how to use the device properly and are CRYING LIKE BABIES. Return your shit, SIMPLE! 10yr warranty, i got a problem with this device i know who to call. One little thing i wanted to add to my post above was the reason i SOMETIMES use .2g instead of like .4 is because with .4 you will have to stir to get the top herb spent. .2g packed down then the rest of the oven packed with abv you will not have to stir. Time to FLY! YEEEEEEEE! :)

Again I would like to point to the wisdom gleaned from experience with the MFLB: Why do I get resin build-up under the screen? How can I clean it out?

In short, dry your stuff out. Also note that using weed that isn't dried out will eventually make your Pax stink.
