Is there is a temp difference between the EVO standard vs the LV Evo or is it pretty much the same?

Will the 14650 3.7v IMR battery from the Omicron work with the Alpha Ultra and the Evo, or will it be weak(or weak-ish)?

I'm not sure you've got it fully understood based on the first question. To vape right the temperature is always the same, about 400 F where the action is. Less and no joy, a little more and fire (combustion) happens. Evolution starts with much higher temperatures in the core heating air. You control how much of that hot air is transferred. This means the temperature at the herb is the same or it's not vaping. The major difference is in timing. SV generates heat in the core faster. Time is the major difference you notice in A/B testing SV against LV.

Not only is the 14650 half a Volt or more less under load (a very significant drop, far bigger than the 'fresh off the charger' to 'drained, needing to recharge' shift) but they're also too long to fit. Bad idea, IMO.

Hey OF, did you get a chance to try out the new power adapter?

No, not yet. I didn't make 'the Cup' and I don't actually work there.....

I did test some of the early efforts and am confident it's a solid design. As it happens I still have their copy of the Pipes unit in a box to take back. Sometime soon I hope to return that and get a PA to play with. I probably won't be shy about what I find....

Thanks for asking.

Hey OF, if TV has no use for my PA, tell Tim I think a good home for it would be at your place. It likes gardens...Might be a collectors item some day..

I think we all know you won't be shy. Still waiting for a picture of your garden. So we can all envision your tranquil time there. Oh, and get those cats in the shot.

Another great looking day out there. Should be a great Canada Day eh.

Cheers,

Thanks, Pipes, although right now it's a good excuse to drive out to see 'em (a careful retired guy can make a day of that....).

I'll see what I can do by way of a photo for you (since I don't want you showing up with binoculars....), but scheduling the cats has never been all that easy. You may have to settle for the 'natural look'.

No electricity in some of my favorite spots, except what you bring. THC and TV is great, as is MFLB, Iolite and a few other favorites including a personal 'very cool', the Vapman! I've even rigged up a batter pack for serious PA powered experiments with the LB. Somehow, extension cords or inverters seems wrong somehow?

Great day here, 70 degrees tops under clearing skies. Weekend looks good as well through to the next one. Life is good. No wind, lots of birds, cats supervising and me missing it..... Who's the dumb one here?

Thanks again, and best wishes.

just used my TV photo contest prize to get the AC adapter. I know Pipe's adapter is working just fine, but I couldn't pass up the chance to get the factory version anyway... maybe I am a sucker... but I have lots of fun toys! :D

Great Scott!
Ordering it with the PTFE bong adapter. Pretty bummed I can't get the glass on glass adapter, but even when I can it'll be 14mm not the 18 I need :(

Does anyone recommend against using an Aluminum mouthpiece on a Dart? I want to get an extra mouthpiece with the less restrictive bore. It'll be on an ultralite. The Dart doesn't option with aluminum, and I don't know if I'll run into, say, a heat issue or something.

EDIT: I did some more digging on the TV site and found a pic of a window Rev with the aluminum mouthpiece, so I'm calling that conclusive. Still open to recommendations if anyone has anything to add on the subject.

ditto.

EDIT: Whoops, moved something about the evolution to that thread.
Heh. I'm pretty medicated. That was the revolution thread.

So I ordered power supply and bong adapter last night, do you think they will make it to MA before the 4th? I would be thrilled if so.

I'm here in WI hoping the same thing. It's pretty iffy- usually takes 2 business days, sometimes three.

Since the Fourth is a Postal Holiday, it's going to be two short weeks for them. As I see it, if TV gets the package to them Monday (fairly sure) it's got to go through the local PO, the processing center, the flight, the distribution center to your local PO to make Tuesday's mail bag (fairly unsure, bordering on a miracle...). Loosing a couple time zones in the process? Mail bags close here about 8 AM. Perhaps a call first thing in the morning to upgrade shipping, but I live 25 miles away and would expect to see it Friday because of the day off, otherwise, based on past shipments Thursday (3rd work day) is when I'd expect it normally.

Awww man. I can't really spend anymore on shipping. As awesome as I'm hoping a power supply is, its still ~2-3x the price I was expecting to have to spend. If it delivers and delivers well then it is worth it. Do you expect it to get hot like the unit does when running on batteries? If so I guess I can't use it too much in one sitting. One of the things that kills me with modular devices since I'm not the patient type. I didn't mind that I spent $250 on the vape and now my friend got the same thing on amazon for $130 months later, but I am jealous that he can simply order all the accessories at once

I can still use it obviously with batteries, but I can't run it through the bubbler. For some reason with a piece of silicone around the mouthpiece it LOOKS airtight, but I'm guessing that is the problem. I can tell for sure once I get the T1 adapter. I just hope they get the 18mm gong adapters made soonish. I'd sell the PTFE one to a friend for cheap so I guess it's not too bad to be getting it now.

Interesting side note I've had 3 friends tell me that I'd be crazy to get the all glass air path mouthpiece for the TV, yet the 4 of us have owned solos which depend 100% on the glass not breaking. The way I view the TV glass airpath is in a horrible scenario it breaks, and I go back to the mouthpiece I am using now and buy a new one when I'm ready, rather than be completely without a vaporizer.

I understand the cost issues, few of us are immune from them. Or should I say 'few of them'? It's all relative, too, of course. I share your confidence in a 'sight unseen' TV product like this, though, and think the chances of disappointment are small indeed.

There will be no self heating in the battery area of course. It will get warm through conduction down the body through the interface of course, but the assembly becomes a heat sink not a heat generator. Everything but the heater should run cooler. Testing the Pipes unit I noticed a significant drop over batteries. What do Jam and the rest of the Pipes users find?

I found the pipes unit only got warm after a long session. It would transfer some of the heat down, but nothing like the batteries do. I do not know how similar the TV insert will be to the Pipe's insert until I get it. I am guessing that the T1 will eventually heat it up after running a while, but not as fast or intense as when the batteries add to the heating process. Those batteries get pretty hot, pretty fast. Only way to really know for sure will be to give it some use, once we get ours. Probably be later than the 4th, most of my TV products seem to get stuck in the CA post system a couple of days before showing updates to my state's P.O. Maybe if they were ordered and shipped last Fri. we could see them by Tues. But that wasn't the case.

Still gets warm to hot after a couple sessions in a roll.
The Pipes unit has a small area made of plastic, and if does get too hot, you can always push on it.
Never really had to though.

It was tough deciding to use the photo prize $ for the new AC PA, when what I really want is the glass adapter, but that being a few weeks out, I decided... aw heck, just get the PA now... Can't do much about the wait time. Either way, it all balances out somewhere I am sure. My collection is still growing, and I should have a life time supply of parts building up. As long as there is some power somewhere for me to plug in or charge up batteries with... I might at some point down the line, pick up a spare heat core too, just to have for when mine does eventually bite the dust. So far, since getting the T1, my Evo's have seen much less use. The LV Evo has been completely ignored, being treated as back up now, since I can't use it w/ the power adapter. I do pop the 6v Evo into the glass once in a while still, run it on AC power. I'm afraid that since the PVHES stems came out, my Solo has been getting most of my attention. I think the glass adapter for the T1 will change that equation once I get one. I guess the glass top doesn't scare me, as far as breakage goes, I have a bunch of glass laying around and rarely if at all has any of it been broken. I won't go bouncing it on concrete or anything to test out durability any time soon either...
