Discontinued ThermoVape Revolution for concentrates

Can someone please be gentle in breaking the ineviatable to me.

After loading up my Revolution with some fresh ISO hash I am getting no signs that the heater is working. I had recently cleaned it (according to instructions) but totally forgot to test pre-loading. So now I have a revolution full of beautiful hash but no heat from the ceramic to enjoy said hash. Is there anything I can try before resorting to tears?

Sure, the chance the cart died while you were cleaning it is basically zero. My money's on the switch being hung up from when you took it off to clean. Do you know how to reset it?

OF

Edit: I guess I might as well hit the high points, just in case.... Take off the cart and unscrew the battery from the switch/adapter assembly. Then pull the switch out (pull from the battery side straight out). There's an o-ring under it that retains it. That ring must be solidly in the bottom of the well before the switch is returned (you can use the switch 'backwards', big end first, to push the ring down squarely). Put the switch back in, pushing it in as far as you can. Put the battery back on. Lastly screw the cart back on, this will push the switch down to it's correct position ensuring good contact. OF

Thanks for that reply OF!

So I did everything you said (as well as some more searching within this thread), but I can't seem to find any magical fix  I tried using the switch from my TV1 in the Rev, but that didn't work. The Rev switch in the TV1 also didn't work. The TV1 works fine with the switch it came with. Confusing huh?

I shall e-mail the fine folks at Thermovape now.

I'd suggest you do so. At the least, sounds like you've got a switch that doesn't work right. This is the common failure AFAIK. Last I heard there had been no dual coil failures in T1 and a non committal 'looking into some possible problems' answer on Revolution. I got the 'few if any' heater problems, but I personally had two questionable switches happen. In all fairness they came from the same batch of parts on the same day most likely (they came with prototype carts to test). They had already found an assembly step that could have allowed a chip of plastic to get broken free and trapped inside the switch. They modified the tool and process to fix it some time back as I understand it.

Anyway, I'd give the man a shout, at least a new switch sounds in order, I'm sure they'll send it off right away. However, that still doesn't explain the no heat issue, does it? You have a switch that works in your T1 but not your Revolution.....something else in Revolution still bad???

OK this is my first cleaning since I got my Rev. Is it normal for the cart to crackly and light amounts of oil continue to come out after a ISO bath and HOT water rinse? Also is there anything wrong with heating the cart by switching it on instead of putting it in the oven to dry? (Additional tips? Checked out the TV video but did not boil my cart in water but instead ran it through really hot water from the sink.)

Okay-
need help again...I am really getting tired of fiddling with this thing. Now I cannot get my HR AVA to fire at all. I tried my Rev on the batts and it still warms up nicely (even though it is clogged and wont put out vapor anymore) I tried it on the Rev adapter, I tried re-inserting the switch (es), cleaning the contacts, changing batts, cleaning battery case. Is it possible that my AVA is burned out? I don't know...

Not trying to sound like a victim or a defeatist here, but this is very frustrating. I have spent GOBS of money on attachments and upgrades for this device and now I am at a total impasse. As far as I can surmise it is not a bad switch because I was able to put another manufacturers HR 510 cart on (with e-juice) and it works.

TV can you please give me some feedback here...starting to regret this purchase now.

I will be able to help you get back vaping as soon as possible.

It's not clean yet, that's what the oil left behind is. You really do need to boil it, hot water rinse is not the same thing, steam (water vapor) needs to happen inside the unit not just get hot and wet on the outside.

I would not try to dry water out with brute force. There's enough energy involved to flash a bit off and crack the ceramic I bet. You want it to evaporate it (not violently boil) off. Final drying is probably OK, but a hiss or pop is not a good sign. There's a reason the maker says use an oven or let it dry slowly rather than take this shortcut no doubt.

can someone recommend some alternative long lasting batteries for the ULTRALITE device.

You mean ones with lower self discharge than the IMRs they specify? Or are you looking for more hits per charge?

Unless you are asking about some special need, I think we can trust TV to have done an excellent job of selecting the best battery for the job (like they have in their other units), I certainly don't know of a superior chemistry or model that seems better suited.

Anyone have a smooth flow moisture conditioner? Do you like it? Does it add capacity to the rev like thermovape states?
"The Smooth-Flow inline Moisture Conditioner is based off the same concept as our Pure-Flow Filter without the filtering effect. It provides you with the benefit of a larger ceramic reservoir, increasing the time between refills. This works especially well on the ThermoVape T1 as it does not slow down your intake."

Yes, I have one and it does work. I'm not all that sensitive to dry air I guess, but if you are, this is a 'must try'. Otherwise, it's fun too. I think the 'larger ceramic reservoir' part is talking about the mass of ceramic to hold water. Revolution draws less volume of air so doesn't need as much water, T1 has a lot of hot air to cool and make moist, the filter drys out quickly there.

IMO the filter on T1 is not a good plan, this unit is. And the other way about.

OF is 100% correct. The set up I would recommend is:

Pure-Flow for the Revolution. As OF stated, smaller air column so less water (trapped in the ceramic) is needed to cool the vapor, as well as adding moisture to the vapor stream. The filter serves to restrict flow. The Revolution loves this little bit of constriction as it allows the conduction aspects of the unit to really shine.

Smooth-Flow for the ThermoVape T1. The T1 moves allot of hot air (like a politician) and the Smooth-Flow has greater storage capacity. No flow restriction here, just moisture conditioning and vapor cooling.

Hope that helps.

I've been using my HR AVA like a work horse for oils/hashes and it's working great, I dare say better than my Rev( needs a really deep cleaning). Was wondering how similar the internals are with the DART (aside from the top piece obviously) and AVA atomizers. I notice that my vapor is really hot and my thinking is a clean DART could be used with medium ground herb.

I'd love to order a spare DART top if possible to play around with.;)

Will the Pure Flow fit the Evolution?

Edit: NM, saw in the Evolution thread that it will.

Absolutely. All of our accessories that engage at the mouthpiece receiver will work, the Glass adapters, Pure-Flow, Smooth-Flow and different mouthpiece options are all fully compatible.

Both the Pure-Flow Filter and Smooth-Flow Moisture Conditioner make great Evolution accessories.

The internal working are very similar, tuned and optimized for their intended purpose.

A celan dart wil vape a medium grind botanical, ca be a little prone to combustion. If vaping medium grind botanical is what you are looking for... one word... Evolution.

I will gladly provide with a spare Dart top. I'll get them on the site soon, if you are in a hrry shoot us an email and we will get you taken care of.

not as an special need batteries, just some extra batteries to have around so you don't have to wait for the 2 to be charged all the time.

So i can have 2 charged, then put the other 2 to charge while having 2 on the go.

OK, thanks for the additional information, this one's easy. You need "IMR" type batteries of the size 10440. Just Google "IMR10440" and you're good to go. You understand it uses one at a time and get two to start, which is plenty for most guys? Otherwise the key is the 'IMR' part. The 'e-cig places' carry them (go figure....), about five bucks each (very competitive), look out for shipping costs.

Has anyone tried a DART on a Provari? I'm not interested in cranking the voltage up but think the consistent power and long battery life would really do the DART justice. (I'm using CGR18650CH, 2250mAh and 10A max drain -- awesome batts if you can use them. I get around 3x the life of a 1600mAh AW IMR18650.)

I gather the LV is 1.5 ohms and the 6V DART is 4.0 ohms, is that correct?

I'm really excited about this product and will be ordering one as soon as I've got my stuff together. I have no qualms about supporting a company that makes innovative, high-quality products with top-notch USA manufacturing. I became aware of the company when the creator of the GG (a high-end and similarly innovative e-cig) pointed out the Alpha RES as an example of true innovation in the industry. I am totally stoked to find out they make other innovative and even more awesome products.
