I always thought I pre-ordered early (I certainly remember when vxc first was announced) but I just checked my email history and i was serrioussly late.

September '11 :goat:

I got to say though, the waiting game is easier knowing we're all waiting together!

PS:
i've been emailing the teaser trailer to all my smoking friends, its really an awesome little video in a short watchable package

Could someone try cranking that knob and boiling some oil? Either stacked conventional screens, cotton from a Q-tip or my favorite, the deconstructed Volcano liquid pad should do the job. Does the VXC get as hot as I hoped, to completely vaporize oils?

The whole UPS thing is a bummer: USPS does the same job better, faster, safer and for less. But if it can't be helped, it can't be helped.

I'm glad you guys like the video, since joining vapexhale, the production of that teaser video was one of my first projects, she's actually a good friend of mine that goes back to my college days, shes a chick; who def can hold her vapor if ya know what i mean ;). This is only the beginning of some of the creative media outlets the VXL marketing department plants to churn out in the future!

Hey I have one more question to you lot.
Does it make a difference in price to where in the US i ship my cloud.
I mean you have different sales taxes in the different states. is the sales tax of the state I ship to added on top of the 350USD for my cloud or not? so if yes it would then not be best to ship to oregon as they have ho sales tax.
Please help a stupid foreigner to understand your tax system ;-)

Just as an info:
the shipping VapeXhale offers costs me 147USD whereas I can get the unit shipped for 49USD +14USD insurance when using the service of http://www.shipito.com

THANX AGAIN TO YOU WatTyler

What do you think the split it? $300 cloud $150 HT? $250 cloud $200 HT? I think for what you are getting the price is completely fair. The UPS shipping on the other hand...

I'm a glass noob, but I would thing the HT's would go for over $200 based on what I see in the glass threads here...and that is for used glass.

The U.S. has what's called a jurisdictional tax system. Each state has its own rules about sales transactions that originate in the state, i.e., is the tax based upon where the buyer is located or receives the goods, or is it based upon where the vendor operates or ships the goods from.

With online transactions, most states either do not tax at all or the tax is based upon where the buyer receives the goods. So a supplier located in another state may be required to collect sales tax and remit that to the state you live in (or receive the goods in) because your state requires that. In most cases online sales, if they are taxed at all, are based upon either where the order was placed from or where the order is shipped to.

That's where shipito.com's Oregon facility comes into play, because Oregon exempts online sales shipped to it. At the same time however, shipito notes that it's cost of operation is higher in its Oregon facility than in its California facility, so one has to trade off the higher (~10%) shipping cost using Oregon vs the the potentially lower tax cost. Bottom line, since VapeXhale is in California and shipito is in both California and Oregon, you'll pay CA sales tax buying a Cloud that is shipped to Torrance but not if shipped to Portland, but you'll pay slightly higher for the shipment to Portland. You have to figure out the difference based on the transaction; an item that is small and light but has a comparatively high purchase price will probably have a higher tax than shipping cost, and so Oregon is an advantage.

I am also interested in this. I am guessing these are just part of the teams process of not being so straightforward about what their product is used for...but if these botanical blends were actually purposefully developed they would be fun to mess around with. I have tried botanicals in the past but just never really got into it. (I actually went to a wicca store in my neighborhood to pick a few herbs up, a fun and interesting experience) I think a lot of the reasons I didn't get into it was having to dedicate a bowl to it, will be much easier to dedicate an ELB.

Going by a previous sm post, an 'in house' HT would sell for less than one etched with Vertigo or whoever. I think you'll see HT's available for $150, with quality equal to the name glass. I also think in the future kits will include an in house tube and the big name blowers will be making custom tubes, selling for more. If they depend on the 'artists' to supply all the HT's, orders will back up at times.

I think you're right. And I think there is an incentive to get to the in-house tubes as soon as possible. With the brand hand-blown tubes from just a couple sources, there has all along been the vulnerability to interruption in the inventory flow; the Clouds could be waiting assembled but not have HT's available to mate with for shipment. I'm just speculating, but it appears that orders may now be being temporarily re-arranged based on glass availability. If the glass flow is not buffered and/or multi-sourced, VXC will have a challenge shipping off-the-shelf.

Low temp deadhead vaporist
it has been two days with the cloud. some observations. it well with the ht but in my opinion it works just as well if not better with my 18" stemless. my question is: can the ht be left on the cloud in between hits. I am waiting for the cloud-station(need price). that might be why i like the stemless it is more stable. I don't have any experience with different vapes. I have been using a hot air gun for 10 yrs with diff glass setups. the cloud is a big improvement. it is like going from a pinto to a Ferrari. :ko:
thanks for the idea mongorian i am now using the bubble wrap with a book under it. :p
the grind issue: i cut mine up with scissors let it dry out a little and rub it between thumb and forefingers. big clouds at 9 am :D
Is there any way that i can see a picture of the cloud station . i have been looking with not much success.:)
And I am defiantly will be in the market for an in-house tube once they become available as well as a cloud station.

Perfectly Toasted
The HT (Vertigo at least) will not spill its water even when laying almost horizontally. You have to tip it past horizontal, toward the upside down in order for it to pour out. So...

For a great way to rest the HT in between hits: grab a small hand towel and arrange it on your table next to the cloud with one end slightly more raised (bunched), then just lay the HT down on it with the top resting on the slightly raised end. This keeps it from falling, rolling, or anything else unsafe.

I would not ever leave it on top of the cloud. This is just a bad idea and an accident waiting to happen.

Laying the HT down between hits has already saved me from someone's accidental table bump. A bump that would have downed an upright standing HT for sure.

Happy cloudy days all!!!

Just reposted this a few days ago, as a matter of fact-

These are actually made in house by a scientific glass blower I had the pleasure of meeting a few months ago. For those that don't know, glass blowers come in two flavors, art and scientific. The difference is fairly obvious, the art guys make vases, pipes, bongs, sculptures, and scientific guys specialize in making stuff with super tight tolerances like what you would find in a typical laboratory.

A lot of people have sent me emails asking if there were any cheaper alternatives than the Sovereignty, StoneGlassWorks, or Vertigo HydraTubes. VapeXhale has invested funds to extend the capabilities of our scientific blower so that we can produce HydraTubes comparable in quality at a cheaper price.

There have been some additional benefits as well, the glass on glass fittings that the scientific community has access to that hasn't found its way into the art world can be seen by the flush mounted seals. The ones in the pictures are called "dewer seals" and are GonG fittings that were designed to be flush mounted. Because these were designed to be flush mounted, the glass blower doesn't need to reinforce the seal like SGW has done with our beta HydraTubes thus saving time AND money

This will allow us to keep prices down for folks that want a kick ass set up without spending more on high end glass, and this will also give my guys more time to create worked HydraTubes with all the color patterns that people love so much like "fire and ice" "rasta" or whatever the popular color pull of the month is."

And from a different post-

"We are estimating that the inhouse HydraTubes will be about 20-30% cheaper than a "name brand" HydraTube. So if a SGW Showerdome is $200, then a VX ShowerDome will be around the $150 range. Glass is one of those funny materials that you just can't automate. Each HydraTube requires a human to shape it, mold it, and conform it until it resembles what we see in the pictures from the previous page. There is just no way of getting around paying labor charges for superior glass.

What we can guarantee is that regardless if it is one of our name brand or inhouse glass pieces, we will be using the highest quality borosilicate and everything is blown in California. We don't outsource our glass or import any cheap Chinese alternatives."

This vape is so fun to use that I truly can't stop wanting to hit it and I haven't. In fact, I was so medicated this morning that half way into eating breakfast I found myself just staring at wall completely frozen. Thanks you VapeXHale Team! I've truly found the vaporizer that I've been longing for and it was worth the wait.

The Vertigo HT is beefy. I was not expecting the tube to be that heavy/thick but it feels extremely durable and looks beautiful as well. Once question I had though is why are the trees closed to the base and not open? I'm definitely not disappointed with my selection.

I've found that the 12:30 mark seems to be the perfect starting point for me in terms of temperature. And I agree with previous posters who said it's better to wait an additional couple minutes after the light goes to green before taking a hit.

Need to do a lot more testing still which will definitely happen in the next few days. I'm anxious to see what it will do through my double perc Roor.
