Oh no....I'm finding I need to overheat the cap on the 3rd cycle by 3 seconds to get that great vapor when I'm using my wonderful Jarhead heater. Can one of you math whizzes tell me how many years of cap clicking I'm losing by doing that? Or is there a work-around?

fcm, just enjoy the way it works best for you. If & when the time comes, a new cap is only $20.

The only (relatively) difficult thing about using the VC is getting the torch right. Struggling with that for a newbie can be frustrating. With a @Pipes IH, the heating process is dramatically simplified, which clearly can show to a new user what the VC is capable of more easily. Once that is established and they know what they are trying to accomplish, it is easier (I think) to keep at it without or with dramatically reduced frustration.

Generally I am a little shy talking about other vapes and products in dedicated vape threads because it is a little unfair (IMO) to promote competitors. Shy doesn't mean I won't do it, but it does mean I am aware and conscious of what I am doing and try to be fair and keep it to a minimum. In the case of Pipes IHs I've realized that they exist only as an accessory to the VCs and have no real purpose without them, so rather than being competition, they only enhance VapCaps and potentially add to sales, especially for folks who may struggle with the torch. I think it reasonable that I no longer be shy about this. I think the same is true about talking VC in the IH thread.
And, of course, if @Pipes or @VapCap feel differently, please say so here, or in PM.

Microdosing
Hi, just got directed here from another thread for questions about Vapcap. While browsing, I notice they have one for $50 (M model), but I do have a few concerns, like is the vapor smelly (combustion) and what temperature will it be, after the clicking sound? How much herb can be loaded at a time and how many hits can I get off? Is a regular space case grinder good enough for a vapcap? Do I need the finisher grinder from Magic Flight?

I'm doing research for when I start micro-dosing. My only other Vapor is a Volcano (365 degree) and was informed it isn't good for micro-dosing. It comes with a solid valve chamber.

Thanks

Every vape is smelly when you combust. Doesn't happen when you respect the click.

and what temperature will it be, after the clicking sound?

0.1g max. I use 0.3g with 3 heating cycles and 5-6 hits.

Is a regular space case grinder good enough for a vapcap?
Yes.

Do I need the finisher grinder from Magic Flight?
No.

My tip can accommodate the following amount of flowers stored with a 62% rh bodeva pack. This is according to my scale so it could vary +- depending on other more accurate scales and the amount of moisture in your bud.

Screen in bottom groove - .07 grams

Screen in middle groove - .05 grams

Screen in top groove - .03 grams

These are the absolute max amounts that I can stuff into the chamber. In practice, I never fill the Vapcap to capacity. I like to pop an unground nug in there and let it float freely. My average load is .015 grams, just a tiny nug. I vape several times per day.

Each time I vape flowers I go through three heating cycles. Each cycle gives me about three mouth-pulled tokes. So I get about 9 tokes each time. It takes about a minute to load, heat and finish a load.

The Vapcap also handles hash with ease and if your into concentrates, you can fit the herb chamber with a concentrate pad and load your shatter, rosin etc for an all day sucker.

I don't know. I've had my Vapcaps for almost 2 years and I never grind my bud. I don't own a grinder. It's not necessary with the Vapcap. I just tear a nug from a bud and pop it in there. Easy peasy. No fussing required.

Lots of people do like to grind their bud. The Vapcap accommodates many styles.

Dear master @Squiby, I learn all these skills from you, before I owning a vapcap. Actually I am watched all the best of thread and learning that vapcap are so much capable with degummed hemp, mouth pull technic, micro dosing.... for the smoothest hit, so I decided to get the Vapcap M for a try and this is a new world and will never go back :)

I do it both ways... Mostly using ground material though...

If I'm sitting down relaxing i sometimes use un-ground chunks of bud... If I'm in a hurry i normally use ground herb.

I get more hits, and more flavorful hits, using chunks of bud... But i can extract more quickly using ground herb.

I usually prefer to extract everything in 2 hits really... I occasionally flirt with combustion and try and get it all in one hit. Sometimes it results in an amazing hit... Sometimes it results in me cleaning the vapcap :ko:

What i dont understand is... I still like the taste when combusting straight up in a bong pipe or joint... But combusting in a vape always taste worse... I don't clean a pipe until it clogs up... But if i combust one time in a vape in needs cleaned immediately... Not just the VC... All vapes i have used..

It's funny how you adjust to change. I quit smoking cigs nearly 15 years ago but continued to combust cannabis until just 3 years ago. Now if I accidentally combust the taste is terrible and my lungs complain loudly if I don't catch it in time. Because I use glass mostly at home I usually see it coming. Then I have to jump up and blow it into the bathroom fan.

For some reason I seem to go through more when I do nugs. I haven't quite figured that out yet.

@paehtod I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your Vapcaps. Of the three set ups, which is your favorite?

After 2days continue testing with the Omnivap XL and Nonavong+ss tip, I would say that I really really like the feel when holding Omnivap XL on hand and spinning. It's light weight and long enough, feels so better than holding the M. And the Ti tip is quite different to ss tip. I would prefer single jet torch for the M with ss tip, but I prefer triple jet for the Ti tip. With single jet I can feel that ss tip got heat up slowly and hold the heat longer than Ti tip so it have more puff like 4-5hit/cycle to turn the abv in dark brown color. And if I use triple jet to heat up the ss tip and respect the click, I have 3-5 cycle but the abv only turn yellow. Alternatively I prefer triple jet for the Omnivap, it's heat up very fast and only 2 cycle the abv is dark brown. I would say the ss tip is for session style and the Omnivap is massive 1hitter. I love them both.i will take the m outside work at day time and enjoy the Omnivap at home at night time.

Hey guys, been reading into the Vapcap M and it seems like the perfect fit for me, if not for anyone!

I'm really close to just ordering one, but the problem is I'm having trouble finding fuel for butane lighters. I've looked around shops with no luck, and most websites do sell those but I would need to order extra useless products because the price is too low to send out just a couple of tanks of butane.

I've read that it's possible to heat your Vapcap with a Bic lighter, does this "damage" it in anyway or is it really completely safe to use a Bic lighter? I do know it will take longer to heat up, but atleast I won't have to keep looking for fuel.

Thanks!

Hi. I don't know your location but any specialist tobacco/cigar/pipe shop should have a selection of butane lighters and the butane cannisters to refill them. Maybe also some Head Shops, if they're hip to vaping (not usually the case in my part of Europe).

No, there is no danger or damage to be expected, besides the fact that heating will take considerably longer with the BIC, as you already know. Amazon (and many other online retailers) sells butane too if you do not find a pipe shop in your area.

Another reason you may not like using a BIC lighter is that you'll run out of butane pretty fast and have to keep buying them. If you absolutely cannot get any butane for a little torch lighter, maybe a candle would do? Slow but I've heard it works. Good luck! :)
