Haha cheers bro - I was just reading some GH Reddit posts from a year ago, stumbled on a few of your posts and I think it should be said that your English has really improved over that time, kudos
Not that it was ever bad, but nonetheless :)

When I first tried a walrus hit, it instantly made me think of using 5 chambers at once and how extreme that would be! One day I'll get there, I have two claisens and at some point I'll make the effort to do 3 hoppers at once. It's possible I've done this and forgotten already...
I've definitely done two hoppers and an EQ!
(Don't miss that silicone!! So good to be PFEing, vaping without silicone is something I've been looking forward to for years)

I really recommend a claisen adapter to anyone with multiple vapes, it's a lot of fun and it's genuinely on another level. Especially with multiple strains and all that fun stuff!

That said, life is better with tolerance for only one unit :p
Because then the double whammys really wham

I'd love to do that but I can barely handle a full bowl from a single hopper. They really hit me hard, which is a good thing ;)

@MoltenTiger I learn good English yes?, learn from best actor of America .. Arnold Swarchsnicker!! :brow:

Be careful taking advices from that man...

Might also be that I am back using a smartphone with a app that fixes my spelling ;)
You're a modest man Hjalmark, smartphones don't do much for sentence structure

I'd love to do that but I can barely handle a full bowl from a single hopper. They really hit me hard, which is a good thing ;)
I've only done it the once and it's always an option, if that says anything :p

Totally overkill, but occasionally that's what I want. Generally, and especially with my current stash, single chambers destroy me though! The double is perfect for when the tolerance creeps up a little, but of course it just shoots it up higher still. Adding the EQ just diluted the cloud tbh, but it gets to those scorching temps which has a different effect.

Seed of life ?
Indeed, double lace disc vapour tube.
The closest thing to perfect I've ever purchased I'm quite sure

I received my repaired Hopper a few days ago. Its working great so far. I do notice as others have mentioned the bump up in temperatures. I used to start on 3.5 or 4 and finish on 5. Now starting on 2.5 or 3 and finishing on 4. Temp 5 doesn't burn or char with my unit but it gets damn close... Which I'm fine with. I have taken their advice in not overfilling or packing the bowl. I have been guilty of filling it to the brim bit never have packed the bowl. Also taking their advice on dusting the bowl after each use and plan to increase the frequency of my cleaning. I used to clean it every 2 to 3 weeks. Never noticed much build up but better safe than sorry... I know that the grasshopper is not at the top of everyone's list for the best unit out there, but for my purposes it is the best twice over... I love you grasshopper lol

I love my hopper also

I do not clean it often but have some rules
1) never leave a vaped load in the hopper
2) knock out all left overs after each use
3) never ever leave it in a bong as the water rushes back and pushes air into the hopper

That is about it then cleaning wise, monthly I drop the mouth piece in iso, weekly I clean threads with brush or and sticky-tack

Also started when vaping dry to just leave it on instead of clicking it off after each hit, or least do that on 3-3,5 and kind of treat it like a blund/joint

I am still looking for a session vape that I can just puff on like a pipe but feel like it's not going to be a convection vape .. though my stickybrick with it huge bowl might do what I want but I want something automatic I don't need to think about

I totally get it fella.

Exactly! I'll be getting a claisen at some point anyway as I want to use one as a carb on my MFLB Orbiter/VapCap (no carb stem). So you never know, one day I might be on here spouting nonsense like usual but that time I'll actually have an excuse

I want to get one of the more angular claisens rather than the smoother Y shaped ones, I'm after one similar to what @Baron23 has but in 14mm:

18mm-bridge-adapter.jpg

I'm hoping it will not make the MFLB Orbiter top heavy.

EDIT: Screw it I'm gonna buy a bunch of em, and other glass bits so I can play this in real life:

@GreenHopper - the 18 mm one came from Vape Fiend in the UK but they don't carry it in 14 mm. I also got a 14 mm one from Planet Vape CA. Bit expensive but its 14 mm and works very well. Main use for me is with Enano and its GonG bowl. For GH, mostly I just use a 14 mm J hook.

Now, I will say that I'm glad that my DHGate Mobius knockoff has a thick wide base cause with an Enano hanging out there the center of gravity is shifted a good bit.

Thanks fella, I could spend $70 (inc the cheapest international shipping) or as I'm definitely a little worried about the stability of the Orbiter. I could spend a whole lot more and get a setup similar to @The Beagle's:

:D

I wonder if @phattpiggie would be willing to make me a stand :brow:

I've seen 'round bottom triple neck flasks':
glass_flask_round_bottom_three_necks_borosilicate_glass_glassco_250ml_19_26_19_26_1476178027.png

Glass Flask, Round Bottom, Three Necks, Borosilicate Glass (GLASSCO) 250ml, 19/26, 19/26

If I could find the right adapters and down stem this would make and awesome bubbler for dual wielding hoppers or single hopper plus carb control.

I got my angular claisen from Amazon, and the curved one was from PlanetVape. I like how the angular one is symmetrical. It's cheap as hell, and should be cheap to ship internationally, I've purchased from Amazon in other countries several times and always had good results. I should buy another angular one, just in case I need more than three vapes at once.

Edit: Here's an asymmetrical one from Amazon. The 14/20 is less than $30.

That lab flask setup is pretty much my favorite setup that I seen in the past years and looked so damn cool when it had the veirdamper(?) or the Dutch vaporizer thing on top

I been also looking around for the right sizes to make my own but never pulled the trigger as I been uncertain about sizes

Also check DHgate for double adapters, plenty options there on the cheap. I got mine locally but they originate from China and are a bit janky but do the job.

You could also get a custom one in fun colours pretty cheap (maybe less than 70 for colour, clear would be much less) if you find a glass blower

Also started when vaping dry to just leave it on instead of clicking it off after each hit, or least do that on 3-3,5 and kind of treat it like a blund/joint

I would recommend against this, it's definitely a nice thing to do, but HL Best Practice tips suggest it might not be good for the device

https://www.grasshoppervape.com/blog/best-practices/

Edit, lol this sounds so authoritative and lame. I should go on to say that I've done this with my last hopper quite often. After a while I realised that the auto-time out didn't work, and I found that letting the whole unit pre-heat on blue for a min, or several, gave some pretty optimum hits. However shortly after this, the unit started taking a long time to heat up and eventually was RMAd. This is the kind of thing that should be avoided over clicking the thing off constantly, cigar like hits might not be so bad if you don't let it overheat, just be careful with the things, unlike some

Good idea,

However I kinda want a slightly bigger more stable bubbler with 18mm for future vapes/rigs anyway and I so love the idea of a round bottom multi steam flask with wooden (or acrylic) base/stand/frame.

Like @Hjalmark I'm not fully decided on the size yet.

Could always go full custom, though it might be costly. But that way you can assure stability, choose size/design, it's a really fun process too

That is very true, I'd have to find someone in the UK who could do it. Might have to take this to another thread though as I feel like I'm derailing this Hopper thread right at the point where people seem to be reporting improvements in the QA and I really want to hear more from people receiving their latest RMA's back.

I'll have a think about the custom job though and either post in the glass thread or start a new one. Good call.

It's not so expensive, I think I payed around 30€ for my flask and the glass is waybetter than the chinese bubblers. The adapters are very cheap and so the mouthpiece, the only (relatively) expensive thing has been the custom carbed drop down but if you go for the three neck flask you don't need it as you will be using the third neck as a carb hole and you can just use a standard dropdown.

Thank you! I think that I posted some picture with an Herborizer XL on it.
My flask is the 500ml two necks, round bottom. The bigger neck is 29mm while the smaller one is 14mm.

Yea y'all been out the loop, can anyone give me a quick run down on the process. Followed since the start but decided the wait and the warrenty issues as an Australian with shipping would not make it worth it. Are they getting more reliable? Are there still big lines?
Always loved the idea of the design

+2 weeks with my 2nd hand (or third) dark grey titanium grassHopper and i'm still in love!

I was anticipating the opposite... I thought there was a lot of hype around but nothing exceptionnal... I was mistaken, this thing rips like hell, potent and fruity hits on demand without stirring and in an awesome designed body!

On the top of that it still working perfectly (I touch some wood), not too hot backend and perfect abv. Just got some slightly blinking blue light while hitting.. nothing anormal I think.

It came with 2xGHB1 and i ordered and received a GHB2.. I'm actually using it... already vaped 2 bowls with concentrates wrapped in a coton bowl.... wow!!! 5 big hits on 5 for each load and i'm done until this evening!

I've paid 15.65 to post three hoppers from Tas, it got there within a week I think, plus I paid an extra 15 for insurance, but really not sure that was worth it from AusPost, I only covered my friends unit basically anyway. All up it took 3 weeks.
Having a hopper fail within 12 months is extremely likely, and HL have basically said there's still identified weak elements in the design that will take some time to iron out. For the most part I still think it's worth the hassles of RMA to have a hopper as an option, but it really depends on if you have the patience to deal with random failures. It can't be relied on as it is.

Good to see more experienced vaporists see the way!

How are you finding the new battery compared to the old?
I've got some older GHB2s, and some new ones, and I'm seeing the differences of stuttering blue lights and less chambers per charge between them. Are you getting stuttering lights on a new battery?

It definitely is a powerful little pen!

With all of the questions on V1 batteries versus v2... I generally use an XTAR charger (VC4>. I've noticed that the GhB1 batteries charge to about 1/2 of the mAh of the GhB2 if I charge them from the GH going to blinking red lights (battery drained). That would correspond - it feels like I get roughly half as many hits from a V1 battery vs the V2 battery.

New Goals, New Products

pic_3.829ff4e3c97d.jpg

We hope everyone has had a great Spring, and as we enter Summer, we hope you'll be enjoying music festivals, shows, events, and of course your Grasshopper. Hopper Labs has a busy summer planned as we look to make big steps toward three major goals.

1. Drop the Grasshopper failure rate to .1% or lower
2. Release the new products which have been in development
3. Get out to events and meet all of you there!

Hopper Labs has drastically improved the reliability of the Grasshopper over the last year. We've seen a significant reduction in the percentage of devices that need service. It is important to realize that even with a 1% failure rate, we will see hundreds of customers with problems. This is why Hopper Labs is making a .1% or lower failure rate our number one priority. We are implementing internal changes and part revisions until we achieve this goal. As with our goal of building the Grasshopper and subsequently delivering to our backlog of customers, we will achieve success in elimination of any issues.

620xNxpic4.6c8d39c57573.jpg.pagespeed.ic.Itr8RjuqBW.jpg

A few new products are getting close to release. The Leather Sleeve is back in production after a manufacturer change and some design tweaks. The sleeve now covers your entire device. Providing more protection from scratches, dings, and dents. Hopper Labs is also planning the release of both the Stainless Steel Case and a super fast external battery charger. These items will follow the release of the Leather Sleeve later in summer.

The Hopper Labs crew will be out at shows and events this summer, and we hope to see you there. Keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to see where we'll be. Show us where you are taking your Grasshopper with the hashtag "#grasshoppervape". Submit a photo of your Hopper, and we'll be giving away prizes each week all summer long!

Lies. Even at 1%, if they sold 100k units that would equal 100 defects. Well, we know based on serial numbers they are nowhere close to that number. Where are they getting these numbers? Are they just completely making them up? And if they are seeing hundreds (or even 100!) of defects based on the amount of units that they have produced, the defect rate is much higher than 1%. I'm fairly positive that they have seen more than 100 returned.

I mean, come on. I'm just one person and I had to return mine 6 times in 6 months. I've also talked to multiple people who had to return theirs multiple times.

From my experience and talking to others it really comes down to how often you use the device. If you use it a dozen times a day it's going to fail in about three weeks. If you use it 3 times a week you are going to have it working for a much longer period of time. Regardless, it should work much more reliably for the heavy user.

Just got my SS back from the 3rd RMA and still not working right. Still have to do the same back-end dance to get it to perform as expected.

So 4th time since purchase HL has shipped me a unit that isn't working right. Purchased in Feb. and yet to have it ever work properly. Spent half the cost of the device now on RMA shipping and am yet to have even 1 day of it working at 100%

My Ti made it over a month after the last RMA working flawlessly and now requires a little back-end fiddling but nowhere near what my SS requires.

I would say that ridiculous is a vast understatement at this point; even incompetent seems too nice ...

Sigh ... guess I'll send it back again so they can continue to fuck me over ... I wonder if they are all laughing at us poor suckers back at HL? Here's a good new motto for them ... "Hopper Labs, where the customer always comes last! Only a 1% failure rate! (Within the first hour of use)"
