Ok, if that post would have been posted by 'Richard Kiel' or 'Jaws' I wouldnt be worried for sure ;)
Hehe, it's not that I bite it bro... Just holding it gently, no force whatsoever...
Actually it's the Ti that is showing marks if I drag a tooth over the surface! Teeth are hard mother fuckers but not ductile at all so they chip easily under tension. I hope I am wording it right... ;)

Very nice work @Winegums the Cocobolo has some excellent grain showing there, I turned some Blackwood yesterday which had a really nice nearly black purple running thru it, which all disappeared when I put the finish on it.

I'm with you on the heating @emmdeemo, I rarely feel the need to heat beyond the click.
I'll get this sent over as soon as I get the chance.

WHAT A BEAUTY! Transformer Vapcap FTW!

Tips for full one hit extraction? Load less and pre-warm. Load and give it a little heat - stop before click. After a short bit of time (30 seconds?), heat as normal and maybe a second or two past click.

I was already trying reducing my load but never tought about preheating. Tried it yesterday night and it works really well, thanks for your suggestion. Anyway I agree with you, trying to achieve full one hit extraction calls for unwanted combustion expecially with butane vapes, I have experienced this several time with my Lotus.

I reckon this is as close as I can get to a one hit extraction as bollocks is to swearing.

TINY BOWL! Resting phatpiggies stem/condenser connector on the four flame dynavap lighter lid for spinning on its first groove. Flame on the left very close to the bottom of the cap. Thru the D020, with the carb closed.

Down in one! :)

(Stupid focus, stupid phone, stupid flash, appropriate accidental smoothie text :) )

@Winegums, I've a love hate relationship with Burrwood, I've reassured emmdeemo if it goes well out of shape I'll turn him another from a lovely piece of Blackwood.
These didn't explode, simply split. The complete one has a split in the hot end, I'm surprised it even took a 0.5mm pitch thread.
Purpleheart and Laburnum, with brass accents. Totally inspired by this.

Some very beautiful work there, can't wait to see where you're going next

So tomorrow morning i am flying out to Daytona Beach area for a week. Lots of hotels are still shut down from the hurricane so it should be interesting with much less tourists than usual.

What is even better about the trip? My original beta VapCap (along with my Dr. Dabber) is already waiting for me there. I was sure to send along plenty of materials to keep me inspired for the week. There has been some pretty big improvements in the VapCap since the original beta, but it will still be a great vape to keep me occupied for the week. Cheers all.

So just playing around with this boosting method
Well I like this not pushing it to far but keeping up the temp
With no waiting for any kind of click
I always want to push step go where you know you shouldn't go
But I can't help it I was Bourne like this and proud of it
Ime sure I will combust at some point but I haven't yet
And I must say that makes me feel good like I'm a master
Combustion is BAD but it feels good to tempt It and kick it's ass
Nice feal bad ass
That's what I love about the vapcap it deals real a battery powerd vape can't give you this it is programmed to shut off at a certain point and can't be pushed any further
It is no fun for me to use sutch robotic vapes
I like to feel sence taste my vape and In five years of switching this is the only vape that still feels a bit noughty
I love it
IS IT ALEGAL TO FEEL NOUGHTY
OR DO YOU JUST GET A FINE
I can't remember if you are allowed to think or did they clamp down on that kind of thing :disgust::mental:

@herbalist33 The Purple, Laburnum and brass was made as a test piece for myself, the knife handle is @Winegums work and very nice it is.

I've got some other ideas to try, some are so simple but the finished result is superb. At the moment I can only go to a certain thickness using a traditional wood chisel, but with metalwork carbide inserts I could add a bit of beef to the metal. Ally, copper and brass would be the limit, anything else would need turning in a metal lathe.

I used a water based non toxic adhesive this time which held well. I've got no concerns about any 'glue' and there is non in the vapor path as the condenser is the full length of the stem. Each to their own and all that.

I'd prefer not to use any but once a piece of wood spins it polishes the surfaces and over tightening just leads to splitting.

Everything I'm doing is made to order herballist33 so I'm trying out ideas and building up some kind of product line.

So my VapCap arrived yesterday.... and honest truth 3 uses later it's slipped out of my hand and smashed into a million pieces :( The glass is very weak because the height it fell from was less than 30cm :( BUT... I have ordered an Omni titanium instead :) :) :) :) :) HOPEFULLY it arrives tomorrow, but its Saturday tomorrow and I live in the UK and the Royal Mail are dog poo.

One thing I noticed with the VapCap was the heating the cap took longer than mentioned. Of my 3/4 attempts before the epic smash, it was taking me around 15-25sec to hear a click and my ABV was pretty burnt. I think this may have been due to my heat source rather than the cap. So for the Omni I am looking for a better lighter than the mini torch I was using. I want a quad lighter but in UK they are expensive and it seems as if they are all in the US and shipping costs are crazy. So here are my options:

Last thing, this thread is 400 pages deep and I'm sure there are some great tips and tricks in here, but could someone provide me with the main ones?

Thanks

@Ramie121 I liked as dislike and I know how you feel. My first OG came fractured though I got a bit of use from it. Enough to get my attention and, fortunately, was a catalyst to me getting my Ti collection

@Chose I love breaking rules :) I hardly ever see them as rules though, more like guidelines. Question everything! :) I started boosting with my xxxl. I find it works even better with the standard length since feedback is much quicker. I combusted once with the longer tube but haven't at all with the standard length. An omni or a pre-set uni are easier to work with due to consistent behaviour and fewer things you need to control. Flavor profile is a great indication. When the cap gets to heat the flavor ramps up, and you can play with where on that ramp to stop to get your limit-pushing roast. There is a little over-shoot in roastiness so stop a little short of the limit you want! Beware of that overshoot! Much easier to control with single flame. MOST IMPORTANTLY, BEWARE OF THAT TORCH!

Loving the DIY discussion here. Great stuff @Winegums @phattpiggie. And all the vaporn!!!:love:

edit @Ramie121 I see you already almost all sorted out again!! :D

What to get next? I would get an Omni and the Ti Woody that sings to you, plus an extra VonG body and some extra orings and ti screens. You asked... Oh, and throw in some degummed hemp fiber so you can make a filter that will produce the smoothest vapor ever and keep your condenser clean for a ridiculously long time.

I have taken your advice and gone with the Omni Titanium but degummed hemp fiber is hard to find in UK, is there an alternative to hemp fiber?

Respect the click.

Out of the lighters you've posted, I'd personaly go for the quad flame every time.

@Ramie121 I would go for a torch with a window in so you can see the gas level, the Turboflame is one which @Ruta uses, he had one like you linked to and now has the same make but the flames are angled.
There is a Maxim on Ebay, triple, for a little less than the Wild Fire.
PM if you want a foot of hemp fibre I can send you some over to play with.

I think I might just pick up the quad of the Dynasite https://www.dynavap.com/dynashop/accessories/quad-torch-lighter

But not sure that they would be able to ship to UK. Failing that they can't be shipped I might just go with @phattpiggie suggestions. It would be good to hear what Rata thinks of the lighters. Because the one I have at the moment is very juicy and doesnt work well outdoors.

Looking at the Maxim lighter I think I will get that. Its 3 jet flame and looks the part. Does anyone have this lighter? and would they recommend?

I will order an Omni XL Damascus the next days.
FYI it will cost 199 $.
Costs for XL condenser are the same.
Engraved caps have an add of 5$ for existing designs at DV, 15$ for new ones.

I'll order a Dynastash XL Burl with 2G/2M too (No, I dont forget to order hemp fiber, CCDs and o-rings as replacement ;-)).
Originally I intended to order an ER version but after thinking over a longer time I mean the plugged in silicone container will destroy the pure lines of shape of this beautiful Dynastash.
And I'll allways find a place in my trouser pockets for such a tiny concentrate container on the go - so what.

EDIT: @Ratchett told me that his stock is full of Vap Cap cases!
Did anyone ordered a customized one?
I think its a pity that there is so much empty unused space at mid section of case and pocket flap.

It would be usefully to add one or two slots to the flap for small brushes, dabber or other short and flat tools and 2 or 3 tip holders to the mid section of case.

Extended version for holding VC XL (if there are some tip holders there would be space for longer custom stems like the ones of @phattpiggie too)

Changed colours (prefer all in black) FAIK following colours are avaliable:
Exterior colors:
- Black
- Brown

Interior colors:
- Brown
- Black
- Red
- Pink
- Orange
- Purple
- Royal Blue

What do you think which (other) changes of construction make sense?

Rachett told me there are no custom ones available the next weeks cause stock is just been filled with the regular ones and he has to drive a long way to his leather maker and nothing else to order :-(

Is the Burl Dynastash XL available now? I asked Matt about it last week and he wasn't anticipating any shipments for that. Sounds like you have an amazing combo in mind, I'm super jealous. My WoodyXL is still homeless and I'm waiting to till Dynavap restocks with some new choices for Dynastashes. Till then I'll just stare longingly at everyone else's goodies:drool:
