Vapman

Just an observation: I've had my vapman since early July. I have tried on several occasions to count how many hits a bowl gives me. I have so far failed each time. I just realize at some point that I totally forgot to count and have no clue how many hits I've done or where I was when I lost count :science: .

Just happened again. I'm not mad, quite the opposite (heh heh) but I would like to know!

this is what ive started to use when i want to count my vape puffs
(fairly cheap on ebay ~£7/$10 'Collectible Chinese Tibetan Brass carved Abacus-Calculator'..i think its actually Japanese ..but then it is ebay)

s-l500.jpg

its quite small
long side is slightly less than length of my hand
short side is the same as vapman width

at that size - i only use the longer rows
one row of beads for one puff
im finding it fairly easy to rest the heel of my hand on table with fingers loosely on top and
just flick a row across with forefinger before each puff

so i can now count up to at least 15

and the brass has a warm glow in half-light

When looking at the photos, I realized there is something missing.:hmm: The grooves!

Then, by accident, I found this female joint in a box somewhere on a shell. I bought it 16 years ago from Magic Glass, Germany. It fits the small adapter, I made a day before, like a glove, unbelievable!

After that I thought, why not try it out, I could use the water filter of the desktop model.
Here we go.

It really works fine, of course it is not my answer to water tools for vapman.

To get some experience, I want to try the adapters here on FC.

Anyone interested, write us an email (mail@element-medical.ch) or pm.

The price will be the same as a standard mid-section plus shipping (USD 11.--)

Hi to all, new to the VM but i've tried to read a lot in this thread.
Still unsure about a think for resin.
Does someone use resin in it with the vapman sieves ?
Thanks

Welcome kej19!

I use resin and co2 dab oil with the sieves occasionally, when herb isn't strong enough to manage my chronic pain or get me off to sleep.

Not sure what you need to know, but in my experience, it's best to be sparing with concentrates, otherwise, the VM can get pretty messy. It's best to use two sieves and stock up on Mr. Clean magic erasers to clean out the pan and sometimes the filter screen, in case it gets a bit of residue baked on (especially on the underside, which does need a good cleaning occasionally when using concentrates...the little screwdriver helps here). I wipe the filter screen on paper towel if any residue builds up between puffs to minimize the cleaning chores.

I cut my magic erasers up into 1-2 inch sized triangles and wedges for cleaning. They work really well that way.

As for the concentrates, I find that about three smallish evenly-spaced drops around the top sieve is enough. Using more than that will soak into the middle section over time and muck it up, eventually requiring replacement.

Anyway, if you need to know anything else, ask away. If I don't have the answer, someone else probably will.

Great post. "Spot on" as they say on the details. Very much my experience as well. Load small, put too much in and you'll make a mess and waste the goods.

But the above part, cutting it to fit the job, is flat out brilliant!

Thanks, MP. Welcome to the fun, kej19. Good folks about.

I think you could make it a bit shorter so that the glass sits at the very end of the grooved part. This way you would have a shorter air path to reduce condensation and I also think it would look better.
Anyway great job Renè, it's awesome for me to see it become reality!

I stopped using nails and only use the Vapman for any sort of concentrates, always through water.
If it melts enough i heat it using the Vapman Station and drop it on the sieve. As other said don't use too much or it's going to make a mess. If its crumbly i break it up and put on the concentrates sieve with a regular round metal screen on top. You can also skip the second screen and add a layer of weed to make it sit firm against the midsection.

Thanks to all for your answers and for the Welcome :)

I'll use Moroccan style resin, and i've seen a pic of a user using it.
It seems perfect, but needs cleaning clearly.
I'll try to put it between 2 sieves so it doesn't "move" to much, and keep the bowl clean.

The screens themselves are SS and very well made. They are easy to clean if you 'flame' them. Hold them by the rim with tweezers or the like and heat them with your torch UNTIL THEY GLOW. Then brush/blow the ash off, load up and go again.

Be sure to wipe the pan (ALA 'bowl') and upper screen off while they're hot and keeping it running is not all that hard. It depends on the goods, of course, but you should get many many happy sessions that way between major cleanings.

And be careful of the Gold plate, it's soft (of course) and scratches easily and is very thin. Don't consider scraping, even with something soft. Use the Magic Eraser instead.

I made this one according to the measurement table, the cone goes from 11mm to 14.5mm (14mm adapter). This means it could be used for quite a large range of diameters, lets say from 12mm to 14.5mm.
Of course it is possible to make the cone individually to the exact size of any particular counter part.

I don't think vapman would win a beauty contest with this adapter but it works perfect and the amount of vapor coming through was quite a surprise for me. Without the air inlet holes on the mid-section, the vapor is very dense and it shows how well the system with the three air tubes works.

The quintessence of this post is: I am willing to adapt the adapters to everyones taste and need!:)

Actually, I think that the Vapman is one the most beautiful vapes out there. Most of them are mechanical and void of any artistic creativeness. They all perform there task of vaporizing but lack soul. Don't get me wrong, I have an Aromed, one of the most undesirable looking vapes to most. It is one of my favorites, but sometimes I can simply admire the vapman for its craftsmanship

Thanks ! I'm just at page 81 and i've saw this message :

So I just found a solution to the quite large amount of hash getting through the filter in the middle piece. It get's stuck in there, effects taste and also you might suck old vaped hash into your mouth... yuck!

Just put another concentrates screen upside down on top of the one you have the hash in. A litte hash cage. Helps keep the unit clean, and does not restrict air flow.

It´s so easy!

I ordered 2 screens, perfect ! I'm ready little VM :)

Cheers, thanks for your answers.
Have no butane to fill my lighter
I'll wait on Saturday to try it.

I didn't get the stainless steel ring for heat protection in my order, it came from a reseller.
Is it really needed ?

Thanks. Will see if needed in some time.
Anyone having the vapman lighter can tell me how to fill correctly ?
I did put some gas but it leaks at the end of the filling.
And also what's the +/- on the bottom ? Changing the power ?

Thanks again

Before refilling the lighter press on the valve to remove any residual gas and/or air from the tank. Turn the adjusting wheel to its lowest setting, turn the lighter upside down and refill it untill the butane stops flowing. Push again on the valve to let any other air out and give it another fill until it's full. Leave it to warm up for a couple of minutes then adjust the flame size with the +/- thing on the bottom.

Hello dear fellow Vapman enthusiasts,

I will soon get a protection ring for the middle section of my Vapman.

Has anyone any experience about installing it on a unit bought in 2012?

Thank you ;)

Best regards,
