This response is regarding those who are doubtful of our claims, our release date, and Zepto overall. We understand that the FC community has come across previous vape start-ups that have made far-fetched claims yet failed to live up to them. We were among those people that have been disappointed, and we definitely do not want to be that kind of start-up. So before we came to FC we made sure that the engineering was complete in order for us to be able to make all these claims and know that they can be backed up by the engineering.
Plus, we have a patent pending on the design of Zepto. So if anyone decides they want to make it, we will take legal action faster than you can say Zepto.
Zepto is 100% engineered so there will be no drastic changes to production model. But just like with any other prototype there will be minor bugs, and once we have it in our hands we can make minor tweaks to perfect it. Zepto was designed to be manufacturable, so it's basically ready to be manufactured once we get the funding we need for the first manufacturing run!
What we mean by Zepto was designed to be manufacturable, is that we've taken into consideration that this product is going to be mass produced so we tried to limit the amount of parts so that Zepto can be assembled efficiently on a manufacturable scale. We are aware of the common mistake of other products that have been fully designed and engineered, but the problem is that they weren't designed and engineered for manufacturability, which leads to many hiccups and delays in bringing the product to market; and in some cases it has to be re-engineered for manufacturability.
As for the E-liquid and Dry herb models, we are working on getting them up ASAP!
We know there have been several vapes that ran a “Smoke and mirrors” campaign. For those of you that don’t know what such a campaign is; it's when a start-up throws up a surface model, flashes around a dummy proof of the concept, usually a non-functional wood or metal block, and tries to focus people's attention on technology that hasn’t been developed yet. One example we can think of is Evoke. This is mainly why it took Evoke a while to get out after its campaign; from what I understand, they engineered everything after the crowdfunding campaign despite the release of their experiment video. We think Evoke is a really cool vaporizer nonetheless. We are not using a smoke and mirrors technique and we have everything engineered to ensure we wouldn't be throwing around un-backed claims.
We're trying really hard to be as sincere and realistic as possible and it would be great if everyone gave us the benefit of the doubt and some optimism!

To answer this question specifically we would have to test the prototype. But what i would consider excessive use is going around the usual 10 second lock. So lets say someone holds the button down for 9 seconds lets go and presses the button again for nine seconds and does so numerous times.
Also while we are talking about the 10 second lock, should we maybe put it to lets say 15 seconds? Anybody have any thoughts or preferences ?
That may be true but not everybody, I for one never carry my wallet in my back pocket. But that also comes down to personal preference. Steel itself is a very strong metal and is stronger than aluminum. The curvature of the steel where the taper begins will contribute to the structural durability. So theoretically it should be very durable, but we will only be able to answer in conclusive detail when we rigorously test the prototype.
When it comes to comfort when sitting on it, it wouldn't add any more thickness then say 4 - 5 credit cards, which is unnoticeable. Again we have to get the prototype in our hands to really gauge the limits of zepto’s durability(so at the moment we wouldn’t really encourage you to sit on Zepto although it should be able to handle it). We don't see any reason it would do damage to your wallet or your pocket or anybody's cheeks. The touch sensor prevents any in pocket or in wallet activation because it only activates when coming in contact with skin. So unless you plan on sitting on Zepto butt naked, it won’t damage your cheeks.
You have a very good point!
We have done everything in our power to account for little details to prevent future hiccups when bringing the prototype to life. The engineering is very extensive and has taken into account even the smallest details, given we can’t account for everything, we are not disregarding the possibility of a delay happening. But hopefully all goes well, and we’ll just see when the prototype is complete! See you on the other end and we can’t wait to get the prototype up here.
We are very confident in our engineering team which is led by a former Apple engineer!
Thank you for wishing us luck, it's always appreciated!
That very well may be, we'll look into that but thank you for your confidence!
Thank you and we will see if people have any suggestions and then make a decision from there!
