Some people like me need 400+F to get the effects required. I need the chemicals that vape at those temperatures, and vaping at 380 or below makes me feel unwell and anxious.
their are other vaps in 99 dollar range i think that perform better- ie. potv one. potv v3 pro for examples. i really want this unit to be better than this but i guess i am the only one disappointed with it like i was with the starry 3Having an OVEN that goes over 450f, in a TINY device means it’s going to get HOT!!!
Even my IQ2, which costs almost 3x as much, gets HOT. The silicone sleeve helps a bit.
If you like “conduction” style, then buy a SB Mighty, also close to 3x the cost, but the large size, plastic cooling fins, means it runs much COOLER, though it’s not tiny, nor fits in your pocket.
For $99, and a nice and HOT OVEN, compromises were made to fit in a tiny sized device, if it were made with more insulation, it would be much BIGGER, like a Mighty.
Fortunately, in my use case, I don’t run my Starry4 in back to back sessions. I use the 6 minute timer, go from 375f to 420f…… then I dump the load, and leave the top off to COOL for awhile….
Think how many complaints there would be if the device didn’t get HOT ENOUGH!
Physics folks….

nice, thanks, that was so helpful but i'll make my own decision.Sell yours, and use those….

you know there are others here that think it's a hot rod too.
why that makes others defensive unless they work for their company. everything i said is an honest experience and don't know why i am called out for it.
professor physics, the non-victim here, what you said to my comments have already been related to me by others, you did not enlighten me. in fact, you tried to talk down to me. yeah telling me to sell my vap if i did not like it and then later editing to explain things was not helpful.. it was sarcastic and unkind. i'm a big, old girl and know when being talked down too.Yes, but I explained the physics already, the Starry4 is actually thinner then the more expensive IQ2, where do you think the heat will go in an oven that goes over 450f? Also many newbies don’t understand the basic differences between a CONVECTION versus CONDUCTION devices.
First of all I don’t see how I was being defensive in explaining the reasons why the device gets hot. And I don’t work for the company, I bought this device because it’s CHEAP enough to give it a try, as I like the tiny size. Is it better then my more expensive IQ2, no. But I didn’t expect it to be.
I’m SORRY I bothered to reply to your post, wasting my time, but since you have mentioned your dislike for your purchase I thought I’d address it. So NO, you are not a “victim”, your choices seem obvious to me…..

plse find someone else to help. sorry if i offended you by talking in a neg way about your love for the starry 4. if i had a tm2 i would never use the starry 4.
I had already had those pieces so I didn't need to purchase themdon't know if i will spend 30 dollars more to fix the mouthpiece heat issue and another 10 to 20 dollars more for a unit case insulate wrap cover to fix the shell heat issue. seems excessive money for a newly realest vaporizer. why not buy a more advanced $150 vaporizer instead that doesn't have those heat problems, just saying?
ok professor, have it your way, cause you know you have judged me so well. you're a fine fella. you dear, are so confused and you started the attacking. the victim is out.I explained the reasons before my edit, you sure like to play victim don’t you? (Sarcastic.. unkind..talked down to…)
The TM2 is CONVECTION (yes I own one), once again showing your ignorance of the technology, sorry I know you don’t like being ENLIGHTENED!
I stand by my advice, instead of continuing to post on how this relatively cheap Chinese device does not fit your needs, give it away or sell it! Attacking me for taking my time to be logical with with you is not a good look. But please go on…..
yeah, i would like to mod it and improve it's performance but i want to direct my money elsewhere. but thank you for the good suggestions. when i want another vap, will be a ball vap.I had already had those pieces so I didn't need to purchase them
The Roffu in session mode gets hot AF too.Sell yours, and use those….
Just to add, I never bought the V3 Pro, but there were some complaints that it didn’t get hot enough, I do own the Roffu, it can get pretty warm, but you CANNOT compare HEAT between CONVECTION devices (like those two) with CONDUCTION devices like the Starry4, IQ2, Mighty, etc. Most convection devices are designed primarily to use “in demand mode”, you are only activating the heater for your draw, then it’s off. The OVENS in conduction devices are left on for the duration of the timer session, so the heat builds up.
yeah, excessive conduction heat in small vap units is common. my starry 4 was given to me. my experience with model 3 was why i would not buy it. i was hoping they had solved the heat issue. i think i'll use it for a 1 session and done device and lower session to 4 min at 390f and use cigar puffing draws instead of long slow pulls. The Roffu in session mode gets hot AF too.

i know what might be my issue is coming from with starry 4 heat. i am a old lady with thinner skin than most men. i have no callouses and bleed under skin easily because of thin skin on my hands/lips and have diabetic nephropathy and extreme hand and spine from rheumatoid arthritis. so maybe that's my problem with feeling the heat. i may be different than most of the men here, i don't know. enough said. thanks for you all.XMAX Starry Silicone Sleeve

If I'm gonna do more than 2 chambers in short order, I would likely use a bigger device (Mighty, MiniVap...).
I think with this one I can just take it for what it is, not try to max it out for huge rips. It is easy, comfortable and quite satisfying, if not pushed too hard.
I won't even try to call this a heavy hitter, but hits are satisfying and effect is definite.
My least favorite aspect of Starry4 is the screen. The information is tiny (except for temp) and is a lost cause if your are outdoors, can't be seen it at all.
With most every vape I've owned I have attempted some form of mod, most usually to get it working with glass piece (if the vape didn't come with wpa option) or a cooling stem, or something. I think with this one I can just take it for what it is, not try to max it out for huge rips. It is easy, comfortable and quite satisfying, if not pushed too hard.
While waiting on @XMAXVAPORIZER, I will jump in (I am XVAPE, not XMAX in case you are confused) and say the silicone cover and accessories are supposed to be available for separate sale this month.whenever that comes out?
These are not skins but graphic art on the bodies.seems it comes with 4 graphic skins for the skin and 2 you don’t know what they are.
Ok, they are not skins and I’m an idiot, sorry in the video it pulls out the silicone skin and cap container and that confused me, I’ll stop using the Starry 4, it has got me too stoned. It’s new designs on a Starry 4, that’s actually disappointing, I like wrapped skins better, because I’m not interested in another Starry, have too many already. These are not skins but graphic art on the bodies.
Again, not wraps either as the designs seem printed directly on the body/aluminium.They are are like battery wraps, you get 1 silicone skin and 4 wraps of different designs 2 unknown,
