I will get one next week for testing/review.... I'll let you know my thoughts about it!
Excellent. The wife has a Focus Pro and I have been trying to get her to vape full time, right now she only vapes during the day, she's a bonger at night. Was going to get her a Davinci IQ but I need to keep it simple for her, this one looks like it will fit the bill.

If she's not up for using the Focus at night the Starry may not be the answer. They're both portable conduction vapes. You might be better off looking into a convection based desktop unit. The wife doesn't like the Buddha for nighttime?

Don't get me wrong....I have the Focus vapes and love the other conduction vapes like the Solo and Xmax V2 Pro and ....... I've got my eye on the Starry as well.

Good work trying to get her to vape full time man. Really makes the most sense Doesn't the Focus Pro have a WPA? That would make the bong work for you I think.

So XMax Just came out with this unit called the Starry, looks pretty good. Thoughts

Looks really good. I did notice however that POTVs video didnt go into the MP at all.
I'm dying to get my hands on one.

I just got a Starry Xmax, I also have the focus so I can compare the two after a few sessions.
First impressions the format is very pleasant, it holds well in the hand, there seems to be slightly more convection than with the focus.
The mouthpiece looks more complicated to clean, the session is more homogeneous than on the focus on level taste/vapor ratio.
Battery 18650 changeable, I would have preferred a screw closure as on the focus rather than this system for the battery tank (to be seen in the long run).
The draft is quite fine (mainly due to the mouthpiece) but the air flow, although not adjustable, is really very nice to use.
It may be fewer big clouds than focus but looks more harmonious on a session.

Why not move this topic into "portable vaporizers"?

Well not only that I need something to play with while I wait 2 weeks for my RMA with Davanci.

Isn't that something only the Mods can do. This vape is brand new. Bit the bullet, getting mine on Monday or Tuesday from VaporNation, only hope is that XMax took a Davinci apart and looked at all the complaints and got it figured out.

I remember you stated you were going to get one and review it. I'm so ticked at Davinci at this point, still waiting for my IQ.

Hi folks, I'm a newbie here. Just received my Starry yesterday from potv. Its a pretty cool little machine. Nice flavor and fairly airy vape. Heats up to any temp really fast. Only problem is that the tip is very floppy where it is attached to the lid. I've actually wrapped a rubber band around it multiple times to provide some kind of resistance to it just swinging to and fro and catching on my shirt pocket when I put it away or pull it out. I was curious if this is characteristic of this new model or if mine is defective.
Anyone?

On my unit the mouthpiece (tip?) is tightly attached to the lid.

Since I'm feeling better I vaped some more bowls in the Starry.... can't comment about taste cause the flu but I can say it's a pretty nice little vape which fit really well in the hand and it produces some nice clouds also.

More to come...

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like I need to get a replacement.

Edit: Oops, it looks like my problem is user-fixable. Pop out the insert in the lid that holds the filter and the base of the mouthpiece is exposed. Just needs a little shimming or bending. Boy, do I feel better!:)

2nd Edit: Very easy fix as it turns out.

Hi @bushmaster , I will be interested in your technique of disassembly .. I tried and already almost damaged the part with the tip, there are a lot of scratches, so I gave up the idea of disassembly..

Were you able to remove the ceramic filter assembly from the lid? No tools required. The filter and the oval rubber(teflon?) piece that surrounds the filter come out together. I am able to apply slow solid pressure on one side of the ceramic filter and the assembly will slowly began to lift out of the lid. Then its just a matter of grasping the filter between your fingertips and rocking it back and forth a bit while pulling it away from the lid. I thought the instructions that came with the Starry were quite good but they didn't touch on this at all.

Ok thanks I'll try your technique, and no i wasn't able to move anything, I did not force but I tried well and nothing came freely..
Concerning the ceramic filter, what does yours look like ?
On the instructions I have the impression that it is white, but mine is of the same color as the aspiration nozzle. Some places are not regular as if they had undergone very high heat.
I did not worry at first because I saw on a site trading exactly the same aspect as the one I have (black with irregular aspects)..

Once I figured out the mouthpiece resistance problem, I was in 7th heaven. I couldn't be happier with this little device. After I picked it up at the Post Office, I had to wait forever for my wife to finish shopping--gave me plenty of time to play around with it and read the instructions. Of course, the battery was too low to use it, so I figured I'd just swap the 18650 from my ecig mod. Wrong--the battery compartment won't close on an AW 2200mah buttontop. Waited anxiously until I got home and found that the LG 3000mah flattop(the brown one)fit just fine and I was off and vaping.
