Congrats on your line of thinking. I have my log on a smart outlet to turn on from my phone which I do about five minutes before going to the garage.
With the 7/16 heater cover, Heat Island log, I believe the dynavap tip may be slightly too wide to fit inside. I hear the solo glass stem fits over the heater cover. Get one if you can you won’t be disappointed.
The difference going solo to log is that you can get more convection based hits with the logs. So better taste and probably more open air flow. And you really don’t need to load .1gr. You could use a wpa that goes inside the heater cover and load .05 bowls.
