The old term 'mohaskey' always makes me laugh.
Yeah, similar, I have no personal gripe with "pot." It was very commonnt to me growoing up in a hippy home.Out of old habit.. I call it "pot" a lot (lol). Trying to convert to Cannabis.
Puff
Just you and me with that one, probably a UK thing.Puff - "Are you bringing any puff?"

Yea, dope doesn't have a great connotation here, either.i say 'trees' sometimes too.
where i am from, dope is heroin.
don't smoke dope, kids...
I've never heard that. Does it mean something? The old term 'mohaskey' always makes me laugh.
"Wacky Tobaccy"Green tobacco
Hysterical. I don't get how his "victims" don't notice that they're being played. LmaoThis came too mind.
I voted all 4 of those.Very interesting. I just voted. I could easily, and almost did vote for weed.
But I resisted. I am coming to see it as common slang, and untrue to the plant in a way.
But I have always used it naturally and I do like the term.
I just like to be more specific, less slangy I think.
So my 3 votes- herb, Bud and Cannabis...were quite equal 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.
It did not surprise me to see Weed out ahead.
2019 Sativa Durban poison vapor just got (and getting me now)!
I grew up with it being called "pot", here. I never knew why it was called that, though, or what it even was. I just knew that smoking pot was different than smoking cigarettes.Yeah, similar, I have no personal gripe with "pot." It was very commonnt to me growoing up in a hippy home.
Others would say blow.
But in all things I think I try to be true amd clear and not use nicknames essentially. Unless for fun of course.
Edit- also, "gear."
"Weed" is older?“Pot” is simple, universal, unambiguous, and very vanilla
“Weed” is older, more frank
“Herb” is interchangeable with “weed”, but more respectful
“Reef” also interchangeable, but more playful
“Bud” is *very* particular
“Dope” is snide and demeaning
“Ganja” feels like we’re “acting Jamaican”
“Cannabis” is legal and medical, rigorous
“Marijuana” is tired and inaccurate
“Gas” I never heard of before
“Blow” has meant cocaine for what, 50 years?
(I’m high again - can you tell?)
How did that one slip my mind? "Draw!" Classic, very very common UK slang term "Can you get hold of any draw?....Looking for a draw" etc.I probably should've added "dro", but I think there might have been a limit, and I wanted "other" for obvious reasons.
That is a worthwhile shout IMO. Untypical, and crptic, but it has some class, and importantly to a degree I think- history."Maryjane"
She was a popular girl back in high school, except we didn't have any Maryjane's in our class
This is quite interesting. The google searches for "weed" and "pot" peak and fall at almost opposite times.I do have a hypothesis about that though. "Pot" could rise in the winter, because more people search for cookware during the holldiay season, and when it's too cold to go out. "Weed" could drop in the winter, because fewer people are googling garden weeds.
Totally forgot about ‘smoke’ - that was the general “shield” word back in the day:
From “Roller Maidens from Outer Space”, 1974:
“Hey, Regular, man, you got anything to SMOKE?”
“Good *weed*, man - I remember the kids were smoking this when they disappeared their high school!”
Lol, I compared that demographic, for fun sake, to "lsd near me."I've never seen google trends before...thats pretty funny. I noticed that the biggest "weed" search phrase was "weed near me," which I clicked...
pretty crazy the timeline of people googling "weed near me"
Something else I just thought of, a few people including myself said "dope" has a negative connotation.
I forgot "dope" can also be used to describe something cool... like "Maaaan that shit was dope." So multiple uses I guess, but still if you're talking about some sort of drug I think dope really is for smack and shit like that.
