Big and Bouncy
First time trying a strain called Oreoz
I'm sorry, I'm more than slightly spangled. I snuck off work early, 1645 and spent 15 minutes by the river with the Vapman and full bowl of Candyland. 3 hours later I'm still wearing a daft grin, and there's no obvious end in sight. Have a great weekend everyoneSorry, no photo, but some Candyland arrived today, and it's knocked my socks right off. I've not experienced such a giggly euphoric buzz in a very long time, and I've only had a half bowl of a Vapman. Superlative
That nug looks nice. Does it smell/taste like oreos?First time trying a strain called Oreoz
It kinda does actually. Not right from the bud itself but when you vape it, there are chocolate and vanilla notes. It's nice. That nug looks nice. Does it smell/taste like oreos?
Super new. I do like it overall but still learning about its limitations. You can read more in this thread. That Zam grinder looks super clean. Is it new? Do you like it? I only recently found out about them.
I've been enjoying some Wedding Cake lately! (Florist Farms, Walden NY)Some mid afternoon Wedding Cake out of my first love, the FireFly OG ... still the finest tasting vape i have ... and I'll never get tired of seeing that vapor path trail on that mirror finish after a nice session
Interesting. I have also been consuming (mainly) Durban Poison as of late.
I see claims on the interwebs that Durban Poison is a "landrace" sativa, but who knows?
It looks and smells nothing like the pure sativa strains of the Golden Era of Sativa (mid to late 70s) before everything was hybridized with skunk weed.
CA Sinsemilla, Mauie Wowie, Thai, and other pure sativa strains had a sweetness that was often evocative of pine, grapefruit, cascade hops, and similar aromatics. In contrast Durban Poison smells more like alfalfa hay to my nose. I find it difficult to believe this is not a hybrid.
That said, while the flavor elements are different, and Durban Poison lacks the long Calyxes (bracts) and the profusion of resin soaked "red-hairs" (pistils) that were characteristic of classic old-school pure sativas, it does--more than any other stain I've tried in a long time--give my brain a very similar uplifting/energizing high that is very close in character to the OG sativas.
I'm dubious about its claimed status as a pure sativa, but I know of no strain that suits my tastes better in 2024.

Supposedly from South Africa. Nothing like central American it Mexican but very good. The flavor can vary to some degree. This batch seems like the potent stuff I used to get in Colorado. I paid twice as much for full size buds seven years ago.
It is helping me with neuropathy in my right leg, due to nerve damage. I use cannabis for my spinal nerve damage and CPTSD. Thank goodness for this incredible plant.Love all the shared batches & pics, keep it up y'all . I shared some hash recently, it's in the 'good videos to watch when vaked' thread.
My contribution here is this batch of Sour Diesel in the vape, it still impresses & is very potent , enjoy
A strong sativa, very cerebral, stimulating, uplifting and good euphoria. A big high, typically with some physical dexterity loss even. Still, I can use it to relax on the couch with tv / music or to go do some chores . I used some earlier today along with doing some house / yard work & I'm using some tonight while relaxing
It's been great to see all the sativas shared in a hybrid/indica dominated world
Have a great Sunday night
Looks great and good returns. YumDamnesia Rosin...25.4% squish return on a 10g herb puck,
It's a good question. I looked at several articles and they all point the same direction. No one knows how it got there, one article suggested Arab & Indian traders probably brought cannabis as early as 1500 AD. The Dutch East India Company traded it ~1640. However it got there it's a unique psychoactive landrace from outside the town of Durban today. Some photos on Reddit show long skinny fan leaves so it might have sativa morphology.Yes, supposedly from S. Africa. As I mentioned it does not (to me) resemble old-school sativa strains in regard to smell or appearance, but the effects (for me) are positively similar.
I wonder if there are authoritative sources on this strain's history?

I should mention that I've purchased a lot of mediocre Durban Poison over the years. It's not all great, just lucky this batch turned out above average. I would prefer Oaxcan Gold or some other original sativa, but that doesn't seem to exist anymore. The only modern hybrid with the flavor most like an old Mexican sativa that I am aware of is called crackerjack. Bought one ounce several years ago, tried to get more a few days later but it was gone. I guess I'll have to grow it myself....

I remember getting the best happy weed from Mexico, back in the seventies. That stoped with the paraquat spraying, thanks to Nixon for that stupid action. And now, they are finding that paraquat may cause Parkinson’s disease. Back to the Mexican weed. Everyone started using Columbian Indica strains. They were not like the Mexican dancing strains. It's a good question. I looked at several articles and they all point the same direction.
