So I'm currently at a crossroads between an Underdog and an Enano, a predicament that no doubt many log vape users before me have found themselves struggling with. I have spent hours reading through FC and Reddit forums on both products, but I am still not entirely sold on either. If you have experience with both products, then your feedback is exactly what I'm looking for. Feel free to skip over my wall of text with your input!

This existing comparison is super detailed, and the reviewer ultimately sides with the e-nano. However, I just don't know if this information is outdated because the UD has undergone several changes. http://fuckcombustion.com/resources/comparison-between-underdog-log-vape-and-e-nano.9/

Here is the information I have gathered so far:
E-nano from Epic Vapes
Pros
  • higher quality glass stems and GonGs, the feel of the build is more "solid" and it feels like a manufactured product. The glass also fits into the core more fittingly.
  • much faster warm-up time due to AC rather than DC, like 10 minutes tops for full heat soak
  • white walls your water pipe with milky vapor better than the UD (allegedly)
  • more intuitive dimmer switch instead of a VVPS. I'm not sure if these attachments provide temperature control, or adjust the power of the device, or both...I'm a little confused when it comes to VVPS so the dimmer switch just makes more sense to me.
Cons
  • fat cord that gets in the way a lot, especially when mated with a water pipe
  • can't plug into a battery pack or car adapter, so no go for road trips or camping
  • customer service at enano is beyond disappointing right now... I have called them twice and was repeatedly assured that they would be sending pics of their exotic wood selection, that a Valentine's day flash sale is upcoming, that the website is under re-design, etc etc... NONE of this happened and it's been over a month. No follow-ups, no responses to my emails whatsoever. Perhaps they are undergoing some kind of transition, but several people have echoed this sentiment about unresponsive CS. from epic vapes This inspires zero confidence in their abilities to uphold the warranty if something goes wrong. This is my biggest gripe with enano right now and it just colored their otherwise amazing product in a negative light.

Underdog Log Vape
Pros
  • Thinner cord so it's much easier to control and move around.
  • Multiple stem options so I can choose whether I want to prioritize flavor, efficiency, direct draw, water pipe mating, whatever....lots of flexibility
  • Semi-portable since you can use a battery pack or a car adapter to power the UD due to its low voltage needs
  • Legendary customer service, I mean they went above and beyond to answer every single one of my pain in the ass questions before I even spent a dollar on their product. Responses took mere hours and this is while they are in the midst of rebuilding with the fire and everything. Cannot even express how impressed I was with their customer service.
  • Undoubtedly way sexier than the E-nano
Cons
  • Slow warm up time. Nearly 20 minutes for full heat soak. Now I don't know if this only applies to older dogs, because the heater core has been revamped recently and could be faster perhaps. This is my biggest potential gripe with the UD, I just don't know if I have the patience for a 20-minute warm up time.
  • The glass stems fit kind of loose and are apparently polished in the shop, so they don't fit as snugly into the heater core as the E-nano stems.
  • VVPS is more confusing to me personally and less intuitive. I don't know if the VVPS is included now, I believe in the past it was not.
  • Allegedly, the e-nano is better at even extraction and producing milkier, thicker hits from the materials that I have read
I would love some up to date input from existing owners to help clear up the misinformation and conjecture regarding these extremely popular desktop vaporizers. I care most about getting completely ripped cause I have a high tolerance with flower, herb efficiency, ease of daily use considering things like the cord or the warm up times, and excellent performance with both direct draw or water pipes. What would you recommend for me between the two and why? If it makes a difference, this is my first desktop vape. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond, now I'll just sit back and watch E-nano and Underdog owners go at it!

P.S.
Shout out Ed's Woodscents, neither me nor my pocketbook are worthy of your burls but perhaps one day.
Shout out Heat Island, I just can't wait a year for my log but I'll be on the waitlist til then!

Welcome to FC @ApplePipes. I don't have the HI, but I have the other 3. As Mr. G mentioned, there isn't a 'best' log, but I'd keep my UD if I was forced to have only one. Log warmup time is somewhat of a non-issue as most log owners just leave them on. I do prefer the vvps over the rotary dial on eNano as it's easier to read and the smaller cord on the UD is a bit more managable. Either choice is a good one and both will provide years of reliable service. Most likely, if you enjoy the log format, you'll end up owning both.

I agree with the rest. While an Underdog is always in my future (I have one going strong for 5+ years now), there is no best. It's just your personal preference at this point.

We've came a long way from the Eterra and the PD. It's good times to be a log fan now.

Whichever one you decide to go with, you'll be happy.

Thank you for the warm welcome @bizwaxzion, y'all are so friendly on this forum and I really do look forward to being an actively contributing member in the near future. Can I ask specifically why the UD is your preference over the others? I know the consensus is that you really can't go wrong with any of the logs considering the effectiveness of the design. However, I just want to know if the information I've gathered about both is correct, or if I'm off the mark regarding some comparative things like the warm-up time or the enano being better at big rips. Also, does VVPS allow for temp control or does it adjust the power of the device or are those 2 things conceptually the same? Why is the VVPS easier than simply turning a dial? Thank you for taking the time, your input matters a lot since you clearly have a penchant for collecting log vapes!

There is no best log. The products you mentioned are all excellent. It's just a matter of which one you want. You won't go wrong with any of your choices.
That is definitely the sentiment that I've been reading over and over, you just can't go wrong either way. I guess what I was looking for is users to confirm or reject the issues I raised above. There is some consensus on these things, and the rest seems like personal opinion from one owner to the next. I was hoping to build a more objective thread for new log vape owners to garner some more up to date, relevant information on these devices when they ask Google. Have you had any personal issues with the E-nano CS or with your warranty, do your E-nanos consistently give you mind-bending rips and have full heat soak in 10 minutes, and can you speak to the quality of their stems compared to other stems? Thank you for taking the time!

The UD was my first - I guess there's a special place in your heart for your first? I think there's a chart somewhere on FC that shows a UD heating up to operating temp in around 12 minutes (reading via thermocouple) - but I prefer them nicely heat soaked so I leave them on all day and the time to warm up is inconsequential. The UD vvps does exactly the same thing the rotary dial does for the eNano - reduces input voltage. So they both control temp by virtue of limiting power. The eNano has it's usable range lower in the powerband . I can use the UD via the wall wart directly (12v) and not combust, but the eNano over 8 on the dial on you can set the load on fire. The vvps shows actual input voltage while the eNano dial is just numeric representation. I use the same vvps with my WS log if I feel like changing things up. My experience with all three companies customer service has been stellar. IMO big rips are more a function of the herb quality and grind consistency when it comes to logs - you can find videos of all of them white-walling glass.

I don't have the enano, I have an underdog tho. I don't know much about the models and versions anymore (as its been ages since I was in your same predicament and researching my ass off ) But I've had mine for at least a year now, so I assume it would be one of the 'older' models compared to what you would get if you bought one right now. I can safely say that mine is fully ready in 10minutes. definitely doesn't take 20mins before you can use it.

That's all I can really say, as I can't compare the 2 since I don't have both, but if the enano is ready to use in 10mins, then that's no win over the UG as that is also ready in 10mins

honestly you won't go wrong with an underdog, but I bet you also couldn't go wrong with an enano. so you got 2 choices and neither one is incorrect;)

I do enjoy running thru water, with my small bubbler using the (I think) 14mm NoG stem. But you also have to hold the UG upsidedown, which is fine as long as you keep the bubbler on the table otherwise it gets a bit fidgety especially with the cord and all (a bubbler with a wide base is really good for that). But its still really easy to do (its basically using the UG instead of a lighter)

I also have the thin stainless steel stem, that only fits like 0.02g of herb, I like that one for quick and small hits (it also delivers it at a hotter temp, due to the stem being metal). And the standard glass stem for bigger hits, it fits like 0.2g, so it will def last you at least 3 good draws

hope that helps. It really is a very nice vape. I've got 5 vapes (volcano, vapexhale, crafty, airizer solo2, and underdog) and the UG is probably my favorite

You really only have one option...buy them all and start a quiver. They are all good, they all work extremely well, and all will get you where you want to be. Don’t overlook the other loggers (Alan with the HI and Ed from Ed’s TNT). And...if you have some skills, learn how to make your own logs like I do...

Everyone needs a log...
