Thanks TTD, think I just seem like a compainer to others.
Pff, fuck it.
Thankfully, I haven't combusted cannabis since before rehab. And once again for the upteenth time quit cigs, which I smoked during rehab.
But I use Snus. Which I prefer. Alright, well. That was a lot of likes. Woof. xD

Hello all.

First, thanks for great forum. Very interesting and sometimes amusing :-)

I'm 60 now, and smoked moderately when I was in high school at at college (Go Bears!). I worked for 5 years at Apple as an internal application developer, smoking much less. I then got an IT job at the Los Alamos National Lab and didn't smoke until I retired last years. A 30 year break!

Well, I'm back and loving it. And it's legal now! Even though it's been legal for a few years in New Mexico, I couldn't partake due to my job.

I got me new cheap bong, some edibles, and low end vaporizer, plus an Iceborn to play with. I look forward to being in the community.

There is no way for me to really know, since I have yet to find out.
I have plenty of past experience with cannabis (it has been several years) but the eoPd is new.
I was just curious as my father had PD too, though not the more tragic early onset variety. I recall reading that it was of some benefit, buy he was NOT inclined to try. :)

There is plenty of evidence for the benefit of smoking tobacco and possibly nicotine ingestion by other means (both of which I intend on trying) but the information about cannabis is spurious at best.

I only quit smoking left-handed because it is not allowed in petrochemical plants, which is no longer an issue for me.

Under a anom username.
But, cannabis has been my thing since about 2007.
Friend got me comfortable into trying it, I thought I was ready, and here I am now.
I think I went crazy at some point with me getting a med card, but I think I have a right to of done this. Covid (did)n't help. POTV, Dispos, long gone the black market finding hookups. Wow, suddenly the world was new and strange.
I do not regret my last 6 real years of actual cannabis use and paraphinilia exploration for where a am now.
THO, I feel like a slave to the dispo industry. Specially now with how med patients are honestly feeling like a used source to get where it is now.
I hate this, and feel devalued as far as that goes. I am activly trying to find a caregiver. Otherwise, the freedom of going from a rec user to a med user has been transitionally awesome. And it feels like that will die. And soon i'll be in a gas station or Jacks Marketplace in the liquore and spirits aisle shopping for the equivuilient of beer, craft beer, wines and spirits. Not a bad thing per say......................but eh, Idk ha.
Anyways, computer nut, comic book past collector, toys and well a lot of thigns.

I never spent much time here on these forums compared to say grassicity due to many reasons. More or less in person people. Online I just felt I had to be more anom so I kept mainly to in person talks, youtube and lurking. ha

Greetings, y'all. I have prowled around here every so often before, but decided it was time to finally create an account. I used to use just edibles, primarily FECO in an empty capsule but also the occasional option like gummies, lollipops, even homemade medicated fruit preserves. I have tried smoking just a couple times and don't really care for it, I only tried because several years ago I was in chemo and the tiny doses of FECO I was using wasn't quite enough to stave off the nausea on some days. At that point I only had access to a very limited supply of the oil and had to make sure it lasted through my treatments.

In 2013-14 I did the gram-per-day protocol and it worked great for me, really brought down my cancer numbers. Unfortunately, I was only able to use it while we were on an extended trip to a legal state and I eventually had to return home where it was not yet legal and my numbers eventually rose again, but I'm still in the fight. Now it is legal here and I have a small indoor grow. A few years ago I started vaping with a Davinci IQ2 which I loved...at first. Hey, I hadn't experienced any other vapes. It's OK, but more of a sipper than a ripper. When I had to send it in for the second time for warranty work (that was a headache, nuf said) I needed something to get by and found a 2021 Dynavap at a local head shop. That was OK, but I wasn't a fan of using the torch and decided that rather than put money into an induction heater that I should just get a desktop unit since I don't have much need for a portable and if I ever do, that base is already covered with the gear I already own.

Earlier this year I started reading about ball vapes, but didn't like the hot exposed metal. We have cats, I'm clumsy and even more so when I'm buzzed, you get the idea. So I looked at a few options, but quickly focused in on the Vapor Brothers VB-1.5. I finally got one about a month ago and I'm thrilled with this little box, it's going to have a place here at my side for years to come.

I've also been wanting to eventually produce my own FECO, but my grow space is tiny and I'm still pretty much a rookie at growing. Right now I have two small plants that I'll cut within a few days, and just started more seeds for the next round. But when I eventually get enough flower to produce enough oil for another full round, I'll be ready. I just ordered a Pot by Noids and it should arrive by early next week. I know that's not really necessary to make FECO, but I'd rather keep it simple and it's the only affordable unit I've seen to practically automate FECO production.

How much do I love it that I'm 6 years older than the forum member @old-fart ? LOL

I too went to UC Berkeley (Go Bears!) after a 2 year introduction to college (and the word's all-time best herb) living in Isla Vista (UCSB).

I worked with (rather than for) Apple as a digital filmmaker (editor) in Hollywood who went out on tour promoting Apple-based systems when the company was in its most dire straights and seemed like it might be headed into bankruptcy. They turned it around, as Steve Jobs returned and you know the rest.

I particularly enjoy fully-mature outdoor grown (actual) sativa (read: not so-called "sativa dominant" strains) of the type that have pretty much gone extinct due to industrial growing needs. I prefer an "energizing" high that gets me moving and feeling "chatty."

While I was introduced to vaping many years back, as one of my best friends got an original style Volcano back in 2008 (and he now has a hybrid) which I've used countless times, it wasn't necessarily "my thing." Not against it. Using a bag is a little odd, but no complaints here (aside from the cost of those behemoths).

Until recently I was a regular, but light-to-medium-light, consumer. More of a "microdoser" in my case. "Smoke" wasn't that big a concern.

Then I discovered my wife of over 30 years was having an affair and had filed for divorce. I lost my mind. Really.

For the first time my consumption rate skyrocketed. Moved towards dabs and carts to lessen combustion.

Then I found a strain of flower, Durban Poison, that--while it has a different profile that the classic California Sinsemilla, Maui Wowie, and Thai of the mid-late 70s that I loved so much--provides a similar effect for my brain. Only problem was I was combusting too damn much. Not healthful to take in that much smoke (excuse me as I sing to the choir).

At the moment I'm mainly using a Dynavap Hyperdyn with either butane or my recently arrived Ispire Wand (which I'm digging).

With the Hyperdyn, I prefer keeping the temps down and getting all the great flavor.

Not combusting has not been a struggle for me, as I prefer not taking smoke into my lungs when there is a delicious alternative.

As a relatively new owner-user, I look forward to exploring the hardware options. While I don't wish to contract VAS, I am open to making investments in some quality devices. I would like to try more "convection" style devices, as I think they will match my taste preferences, but I'm open to experience.

Looking forward to getting to know the community. Forgive a long first post.

Bill (another "Bill")

Alright, I've actually been here ohhh... 10 years more or less. I'm 74 and not far from 75 so yah ain't so old @old-fart lol!
Smoked my first joint in 1967! I quit by the mid 70's, it just got too expensive. Ohh I'd indulge now and then though. Then, in 2011, my lady's MS took a turn for the worse and she lost her job as an Xray tech. I was a former tech for HP, then ran my own busine for a few years.
I was disabled after multiple back surgeries, Lost our home in 2013. We moved to a rented home and watching my lady struggle up the ramp with her walker, I knew I had to find something that might help. I spent a month researching medical canabis then discussed it with her. a guerilla grow got me enough material for RSO and some to smoke. Not only did my lady's symptoms improve, she has stayed almost the same fr 10 years!
We still smke a couple of joints a week or a pipe, but 98% of our consumption is vapor. And I'm a certified gadget junkie, I've owned a good many of the vapes on the market.

so my story is similar to Old Fart. I went to college and really started smoking pot almost daily. I really learned the feeling of a strong Sativa and the concentration it brought to me. I was taking engineering classes so it helped a lot.

After college I would smoke occasionally but it really tailed off when i had no other friends locally who had a plug. Fast forward like 30 years or so and my state , MD made Cannabis legal! So within a week i had visited a dispensary and bought 3 8ths. I knew enough to know there were Sativa, Indica and Hybrids, but the names were kinda stupid. LOL . My first high really revisited those feelings from 30 some years earlier. I was maybe a bit obsessed making up for lost time. But too much smoking is not healthy so......

I started reading more and learning . I only got my first vape, a PAX Plus only last April. So i never really understood about vaping and a lot of that perception was based on what is said about tobacco vaping with external particulates and sht.

So i did do a post with a bunch of Vape questions but originally buried it in the wrong place. Here it is https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/next-steps-w-my-vas-journey.55744/

If you could help me with some of my questions i would be most appreciative. Thanks, Joe

Where to start? I guess I will start in 1986 when I was first introduced to cannabis. I was in the 10th grade and smoked my first joint before school in my cousins car, and it changed my life. From there I smoked on a regular basis until I graduated high school and needed to make a choice about the direction of my life. I didn’t have the grades or money for college, so I decided to join the Navy. I spent 8 years active duty, and went into the federal government where I retired in January 2024. I live in PA on the Maryland line, and the week I retired I got my medical card, and started to get back into the cannabis space, which has changed so much in the past 35+ years it is intimidating and a bit overwhelming.

When I first started to smoke, you got what you got and it was usually Mexican dirt weed, but we were happy and had fun. Also you were pretty limited on your accessories and I used empty cans as much as anything else back then to partake. So, when I first saw a dry herb vaporizer I was intrigued and started doing my research not only into these devices, but also the staggering amounts of cannabis strains and the levels of THC in some of this stuff. It is very exciting to see and I absolutely love immersing myself in modern cannabis culture.

One of my favorite things to do is take my dogs to the rail trail and bring along my Lobo and enjoy finally having my freedom back after all these years. I am really looking forward to learning from you all and diving into everything this forum has to offer. Thanks!

Hey!
Recent posters here, @Spy Car , @pop22 , @Flotsam and others I may have missed,
I invite you to head on over to the thread, https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/age-of-the-fc-community-plus-a-lot-of-nostalgia.18835/ and put your info in the poll on first page. And make a post if you want to.

I am in the "more than elite" group 71-80, and we are very sparsely represented (though I think in the forums we are a formidable presence!, i.e. :myday:).
Always looking for recruits!

I'll check back in 5 years, or you "more than" elitists would need to lower your standards. LOL

I salute the elders ✊

Now to check out that thread.

Bill

This is an amazing recording. Any early Floyd live recordings are gems. Thanks for the warm welcome! Yes, this part of PA is great for hiking, at least when my body feels up to it, which nowadays seems less and less.....

Thanks all. Really looking forward to delving into this forum.

Hi all! Just moved to exclusively vaping for the last 6 months after 15+ years of daily combustion.

Very happy with my choices, first Xmax prov3, then a dynavap m+ and more recently a tinymight2. All have their purpose and love rotating between them.

Just discovered this forum after searching for some custom accessories, glad that a big community like this exists. Cheers!
