Local news station WTHI-TV reports that the shooting occurred during a visit to the school on Thursday morning in which the officer, who has been identified as Tim Dispennett, was running a drill with students on how police handle a purported "bad guy."

Honestly, not catching the "bad guy" and shooting an innocent bystander is a pretty accurate demonstration of how competent cops are in this country. Great educational experience for these kids.

Basically in the 1990s, Utah school districts chose to ban all extracurricular activities rather than let gay students talk to each other. And the reason they had to ban all clubs was due to legislation created by Senator Orrin Hatch that forced schools to allow bible studies.
