They are the best vrip slides available, and they work great with the Extreme if you have extra silicone laying around. (I took mine off my wand as soon as I got it, that's why I had extra silicone) My wand has been broke about 3 months, with the Extreme BM combo I haven't missed it much.
My conclusion on the wand failure issue is the stand itself or the mug you may use to put it in. It puts way too much stress on the cord causing the inevitable failure of the wand. My tip is to make a aluminum boat, or better yet carve a wooden one that you can set it on without putting stress on the cord. This is not for heater failure related issues, this is for people who's wands won't even turn on (no red light flickering)
