It shouldn't take longer to fill from being a bit sticky
I have to agree.
I fill a dozen large bags a day, (42 inches) and by the ime I am ready to change the bag, that pump must "blow open" 42 inches of solid stickiness, and it does it at the same speed as the clean new bag.
You will notice the bags below are glued together the entire length of bag.
They fill at identical speed to new bag on first fill-up.

I guess I don't understand, the "why" part? Is the it the money involved purchasing a new bag? Or to recover resins? Or?

Are you cleaning the valve between bags?

I see this more in easy valve users, I have the solid valve. Does the valve type have something to do with this?

I have a case of EZ Valve bags... and a case of Solid Valve Bag material for my jumbo bags... It surely is not the money, since I own them.
It is the total lack of mess on the outside, and the complete lack of hampered functioning of the bag that encourages me to not change the bag.
I guess it is I that do not understand the "why" part about one needing to change a bag that still functions as new!
I dont clean the valve.
If the vapor is not left in the bag to sit and slowly try to leak it's way out...
...if consumed immediately, and completely, a valve will remain bouncy, reactive and smooth.

Thanks for your answer. I never understood the reasoning, and now I do.

My volcano gets dirty fairly fast. I only run one bag per bowl and at a low temperture as is my preference. I do use the abv for making oil. But after a few weeks or a month, the solid valve gets sticky, and the bag is sticky inside. That's my signal (obviously not yours) to clean the valve and put on a new bag.

As long as your still changing your underware, I guess we're cool, lol.

Agreed here.
This is why I do not use the Solid Valve except when it is time to demonstrate to folks.
It is not the inner bag stickiness there, but rather the inside of the valve that gets messy.
Were I to use the solid Valve, I would clean the valve itself every dozen sessions, easily!
Same with the Vapir Rise.
It has a similar post down the center on which is mounted that screen. It gets sticky, and I must clean it.
With the EZ valve it's a matter of "out of sight... outta mind".
I used one and did not clean the valve itself because the exposed "funnel" of Stainless Steel is hidden behind the top screen. That's why it is called EZ.
After the first 3 years of use, I had never cleaned it!
Now I clean it yearly.
Here are images and the story of the first time I looked in there in 3 years!

Even the coffee shops in Amsterdam don't change bags that soon.

Disgusting. I always thought they take 10€ for the volcano because they'll give you a new bag every usage. I hope i will never suck on one of them! Imagine just hitting a bag right after :zombie: coughed a few times in it...

I understand why people like free reclaim (mainly because it's for free). But I can't understand why some are risking severe lung infections for it. Perhaps I'm just afraid and to carefull with my health, but this is why I finally stopped combusting...

Lol I don't know for sure if that is true. It was a flippant comment.

Last time I was there they weren't charging for bags.

Edit

Also its probably quite hard to cough into a bag. I would guess the germs would be on the mouthpiece.

I already saw how people were breathing back in the bags to recycle what came out of their lungs... :o

Some guests tended to breath slightly out just a very little bit in the bag before drawing deep, too.

It's even in the manual. Don't share bags and use a new one after 2 weeks at least. (I shared with wifey because I fuck her anyway and I used the same bag for 4 weeks at least, so I wasn't sticking to the manual, neither. But group sex is on your own risk. Needle sharing too). But I might just flip. :D

Edit: think of contaminated material, too. (For those who aren't medical). I buyed contaminated material in Venlo from a coffee shop around 2006. Several times. The volcano blows all the stuff like mold or fillers in the bags (glass dust, sands, pk13/14, plumbum and I don't know what cruel people put on their weeds in illegal, sometimes even legal states)

But if you are a single medical user, why not keep the underwear, ahm, bags, for more than a few months. :D

There is an old saying here in the states, "you pays your money, and you takes your chances". Using mj in the states used to be full of nasties. Our own govt sprayed weed growing in Mexico for US consumption with paraquat. It was common to find dirt and stones in weed when I was young.

But now days with quazi legality for our medical use, these old back alley practices, should return to history. And we should be more aware of what we consume.

I keep a few alcohol wipes in my vape cases just for sharing, unless I already swap spit with that person, lol.

Sadly I'm not in a legal state and a lot of suppliers or even producers are trying to earn money on the health of their customers, it's not the state fighting cannabis with questionable politics. The good old germany is sticking to good old times where weed still might be dangerous, only because it's weed, not because it has been "polluted."

For sure I would vape my own reclaim! (I did already) . But I'm sure we all would recognize contaminated material, too. I was just shocked about the coffee shops I know from Netherlands letting customers swap spit everyone with everyone! :D

I'm a little bit nerdy with my vapes anyway (and with dirt if it's not mine, I try always to avoid touching public toilet doors were others would just walk in). I like them clean, not only because of hygiene but because of taste. Tastes are mixing fast in the bags. But what I'm saying, I use the mighty know, it is spitting small piece of old stinky reclaim directly down to my throat if it needs a cleaning and tastes roasted anyway!

Just thought I'd chime in here. I've had a classic with solid valve since 2006. It gets used daily and I clean it out weekly. I've seen alot of desktop styles out there, but I still haven't seen one that I'd prefer over my Classic with the solid valve. A friend told me a story of his easy valve falling onto tile and breaking. I've brought my vape on camping trips by hooking it up to a car battery converter. My classic has even survived a fall onto concrete. It just has a 1" dimple now, but still runs like a champ.

just got the volcano and I am loving it. Question, if you guys are doing a solo session on the volcano how many bags do you usually do in one sitting?

Two sessions and the rest goes into the batch for baking at the end of month

Enjoy it. It did me proud for over ten years already !!!

I'm jumping into concentrates nowadays so I'm looking for an update. Well a partner for my volcano.

Enjoy it my friend

One full load gives me 2-4 bags at 189c depending on the quality of the weed.

I then re grind and re vape the ABV late at night on 200c and get at least one more thick bag.

lazylathe

Almost there...
Since i am a solo user i usually just cover the screen in the Easy Valve, place the oil pad on top and close the chamber.
Volcano is set at 6.25 for the first bag, then at 6,5 for the second bag and finally at 6,75 for the last bag.
I am medicated pretty heavily by then!

Quality product will yield the best results!
Keep the ABV for medibles

Has anyone ever had a volcano break? I have not read the entire thread, but I have read most pages, and it just struck me that I havn't read about a broken volcano. My volcano clasic was purchased in 09 and has worked flawless ever since.

The Cano' was my only vape for years, and still my main driver. I use the solid valve and usually put about 1 cm depth of fine ground material or about 0.3-0.4 grams. With good stuff this yields about 5-6 nice thick bags for me. I usually stir at bag 4, and then regrind the material for bag 6. With that said I'm done after 2 bags, for atleast 2 hours. The remaining 4 bags aren't as potent, so on my second session, I'll finish those in one sitting.

In my usage 1 oven load keeps me nice and high for a good 6 hours.

I've heard of an air tube that can collapse, but there is a fix on Youtube. Other than that, nothing else. Mine has been flawless since I picked it up, early 2012. Definition of tank!

I just cover the bottom screen in my solid valve, fill one bag at 4.5-5, enjoy the great taste, and save the abv for oil. I realize this is somewhat wastefull, so it helps that we grow our own.

Some of the oil gets made into cannacaps. From my understanding thc that did not get vaporized can turn into cdn's. The caps we make from abv oils are great for sleeping, or severe pain. We also use the abv oil for sore muscle rubs. I've heard of folks who simply put the dry abv in gel caps and eat them, but I have no experience in this method.

I think you would get decreased returns on the quality of any extracted oil if you always vape at higher temps. I have not tried making oil from abv that has been well toasted. I finish at high temps in my mighty and just toss the abv.

Depends on the size of the bag and how much material is in the valve. I use turkey size oven bags from the grocery store, and about .25g of material at a temp of 6.5. I just fill the bag once and usually i don't even finish an entire turkey bag to myself before I'm on a good level. I never fill a 2nd bag with the ABV. Even though I could fill the bag up about 2 more times, the vapor is so much thinner and has lost all of its nice flavor, that I just save my ABV for baking brownies.

I also just got a Volcano, Bought it at my local bootsale, House clearance guy who had no idea of what he had or what it was. When I asked how much for the volcano the response caused my missues to grin from ear to ear. The reply he gave was "Any good to you for £2". I thought about saying how about £1.50 and then paid him the full asking price :) I have to get a valve starter set but even still I can't complain about a volcano classic for less then £100 :)
