Suppose I should check in as I made some pretty strong claims and said I'd be doing more personal testing as well as with some friends. I'm still seeing myself as primarily using the Launch Box for now, but I've noticed a few things.

Mainly, that while I've really enjoyed the use and speed of the Launch Box, the flavor is simply lacking compared to the Volcano. Also, while with some effort I can get the LB's ABV pretty brown, it's not how I prefer to use it. But most importantly... Grinding up the LB's lighter green ABV I collect throughout the day further with some fresh material and then using it in the Volcano at a higher temp? I can't let go of the Volcano now from my 'workflow' after trying that. It's really a good way to end the night and by then I'm not as impatient. If only I could find a good silent bag for this thing. The Reynolds bags get kinda tacky after you run enough bowls through it, even if it isn't discolored and it's not worth cleaning/swapping at that rate.

I'm really wondering how the Purple Days will fit into my set of tools here, but having said this -- this means this forum has left me completely fucked and I'm going to have a collection.

Thanks guys. <3

EDIT: Actually being more on topic -- If anyone does have any actual Volcano bag advice besides Reynolds, I'd love to see it in the thread! I'm using the sold valve, myself. Would love to know what others went with. I just am a hands on type of person and I can get bags changed in minutes.

Yeah we'll all be really fucked if a cop ever found our arsenals... smh :|

Everyone associates the Volcano and other Forced-Air/Balloon Vaporizers as a "Party" or "Group" Vaporizer because the ballon filled with vapor can be shared by a group of people. However, I find myself using the Zephyr Ion and Volcano when I'm alone...all the time. I can fill up a bag and enjoy the vapor at my own leisure...I don't feel rushed whatsoever. They are efficient, tasty, and quality vaporizers that do the job well. Sure...it takes a little bit of time to vaporizer with these units, but it's definitely worth it. Whip-style vaporizers just don't do it for me.

I never take my trenches that far. Personal preference. :)

Yep, personal preferences then I guess :) and I am reassured to read that my cano isn't different from the new ones as far as temps go.

I also posted that for lurking users so they don't think that the cano can go as high in temps as the LB can.

Are the cano's still made in germany exclusively? The reason i ask is i import various electronics from China (the horrors i know :) ) I sent my partner on factory tour a few months back, and he came home with a volcano digit +easy valve set for about $180 US. The unit looks identical to my unit inside and out. The packaging and valve set also look identical to the unit i purchased last year from vapeworld.com.

Their english was not very good (and neither is his chinese) but he left there with the understadning that these were in fact genuine and that they could be OEM'd (modified/branded/etc) at a minimum of 50 units.

Im seriously considering purchasing these for resale.......

But just throwing this out as food for thought as to whether or not most of the canos going around come from the german plant.

Found some online info from the same factory in Schenzen ....
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/396712360/herb_volcano_vaporizer_VP_0001.html

according to this link it is oem on 500 in the print at the bottom and oem 5000 at top..

Bump. I added a link to the manufacturer... Oddly enough they also claim to make the Zephry.

Probably a clone, when you order one it probably turns out to be a Fuji or Phantom vaporizer. Alibaba is notorious for falsifying pictures, just look at the contact person's photos for different items, nearly half of them are pictures of Chinese models.

The Volcano is made in Germany and there are pictures online that prove this, they show the assembly line and testing station.

Whats up folks...I'm a long time Volcano user...not much to say about the unit except its One DANK TANK! I remember being introduced to one in Amsterdam and it was that day I knew vapor was where its at.

Now I have quite a few vapor toys but my loyalty always goes back the Cano.

I dont suspect you read my post.. my close friend and business partner picked one up on a factory tour. It is in every detail identical to my digit i got from vapeworld.com

I have a friend who just returned from a biz trip in china. You can buy knock offs of almost everything...sometimes they are not knockoffs but items from factories that produce the actual brand products there but WAY more knock offs. I'd be curious to see if that really is a volcano. Let us know what you find.

well from my visual inspection it is identical packaging/internal/external but for all i know the one i ordered online could be a knock off LOL thats why i was asking if we know for sure they all come from Germany.

I read your post alright, but when you are new to the board and your first post is claiming that the Volcano is made in China and your "friend" just bought one for $180 after visiting the factory, I get a little skeptical, so put it this way: I don't believe everything I read on the internet. For all we know you are a competitor or someone that stumbled across that Alibaba Volcano listing and wanted to make a grand introduction to this forum with an huge discovery or outrageous claim.

Well I am a long time vaporizer user and have been lurking here for a while cause I thought this was the most knowledgeable place for vape discussion. I personally own a volcanao digit, arizer extreme, SSV, and original Vapor Bros.

I am not trying to start anything, just looking for information regarding this, cause i am as surprised as you are that this factory produces volcanos, and I am wondering if most of the ones we buy online come from there... Seemed like this would be the place to find out. Pictures online do not show any sort of manufacture there just looks like assembly and testing to me.

Thanks for the warm welcome. :)

How can anyone come here and discuss anything or ask questions if they are called a liar immediately LOL

Knock offs generally include details right down to copied packaging, etc... hell even tags on high end goods. Would be tough to tell just looking. Even some of the fake fancy handbags the experts have to look at hard to find the differences. Damn curious about this Volcano now.

That still doesnt explain the unit my partner purchased or the ones coming off the line he saw at the
Dongguan Skyda Mould Co. factory. I have been dealing with that factory for about 3 yrs for e-cig's, gps units, and andriod tablets. I have not been ripped off so i am not so sure...

Very strange story you are telling there, 3 years you say ?

Shenzhen Skyda Technology Co., Ltd., established in early 2009 in Shenzhen City of China.

Post some pictures from the Volcano comming from there because it really is not possible !
Also a picture of the box with barcode.

Do you really think that a company can sell an identical looking S&B unit ?? I think your partner
talks bullshit ;)

Where do you sell your ecigs ? do you have an website ??

spikyvape,
It's bait and switch, I buy locksmith tools on there sometimes (I'm a locksmith) and they have a picture of one item but when you email them asking about it they reply with something like I have below. Also if you look alot of different manufacturers use the same picture. My guess is they will reply and say they have some sort of fuji or fuji phantom and send you a picture of it.

I got this response a couple days ago after inquiring about an item on alibaba.

"Dear *******,
Thank you for your interests in our key programmrs.
First I want to make one thing clear. The zed bull we sell now doesn't have obd2 cable. The whole package is a zed bull main unit, a usb cable, a power adaptor, a CD and a red key.

Attached is a picture of zed bull we sell.
Should you have any other questions, pls feel free to contact with me.
Best regards
Kelly"

I myself can tell the difference in build quality of a BMW compared to a Cadillac.....

So can I. I've owned 8 of them starting with a 2002tii in the mid '70's, some different 5 series, and then an M5 and ended up with a 540i about 5 years ago. It was the only brand of car I owned and drove since 1974, so I totally understand your analogy. Are their better performing cars? Yup. Are their more luxurious cars? Yup. But are there cars that combine those two traits as successfully as BMW has done over the years. In my opinion, no. There's just something about the way they feel, the way the handle, the way they sound, and the way they comfortably wrap you in understated luxury that I could find nowhere else in one car. (btw, every BMW I ever owned was a stick. Just couldn't wrap my head around an automatic in a car such as this.)

So yeah, I totally get why people love their 'Cano's. But as with cars, I would never be as presumptuous to think that everyone should or would feel the same as I.

comment about cars: I have a 2002 M5 =) volcano is still getting daily use. yes, is a little loud, does the job every time though and have had 0 issues =)

86 535I 5 Speed here with 210K here, heh. My volcano sees somewhat infrequent use. I prefer a very high vapor-to-air ratio and find that something like the vapobowl or vapocane (or the ssv/dbv from what I hear) delivers a much higher ratio than the volcano. It still has its uses on lazy nights or when large groups come over.

tips for filling bags and getting better air/vapor ratios- this probably applies to all bags and may be on here elsewhere too (also concerning ratio- I do understand whip based and direct draw like MFLB can be more dense, thats why I have a "vape wanted list!!" haha)...here is how I run my unit: Set temp to desired temp. once unit reaches set temp, turn on fan, (you should already have bag ready and Valve filled), let fan run for about 10 seconds, place valve over unit, let run till vapor comes out, place bag on valve. this results in best air/ vapor method IMO and probably most consistent temp and air flow. Also, I have found easy valve to be be awsome. Light and easy to use. I cut off used bags and have been using Tokeez Bags. they are about 2x size of original bags and are perfect size in my opinion. They are also quiter. Seam at bottom can split easy, so I put a rubber band around bottom. Solid valve is too heavy, I have it and have never used it. easy valve is the way to go IMO, if you are handy and can take it apart without gouging yourself, easy valve clips onto unit so filling bags is easier. solid valve just sits on top and can come off easier...also, if you want unit to cool off faster, you can run fan without unit turned on..also to the guy one one of the posts with the volcano and the big bag....That bag looks empty. When I run mine from 385-420, and use filling method above, my bags are filled with vapor (1st bag- I dont use this for effiency ;) and the first bag of the day does mme well for a few hours.. i go though about 4 tokeez bags a day. I use about the same amount of herb as combusing, but I am wasteful with it. I dont mind running through it fast, so I can use the ABV =) Also to others- can you vape fresh, wet herb, and leaf easily with your unit? just curious after reading this---> Here is a link regarding more volcano tips:

sorry to keep editing, haha, if you go to the link, a few comments down at the bottom of article, they also mention the purple days too =)
