I check the filter every so often and it always looks the same, which is to say exactly like the backup filters that came with the unit oh so long ago that are still in the baggie in the box. Short of someone operating the unit literally on dirt or in a very very dirty/heavy particulate environment, the filter should last a pretty extended period.
It’s a night and day difference after a filter change. The vapour was extremely harsh after two months. After a filter change, the vapour is much less dry, it feels like the vapour is perfect.
My old filter looks the same, until you hold it up to a flashlight, it becomes clear at that point that the air filter was spent.
Was interested in the Obsidian, but instead I’ll be changing my filters regularly. I feel like fresh filters are much more gentle on my throat. Your mileage may vary.
