Vestratto Tornado heating tips

So I don't know if this has been noted before but with all this talk about heating different sections of the Tornado, I realized that I had never made a serious attempt to see if the Tornado fits straight through the Wand - and it does, just barely. I can push the tip through and heat the Vestratto letters area for example or the air inlet holes.

Of course it'll never have the focus of an Inductor tip for "spot heating" but I suppose it still moves the field enough to possibly make a difference. So I tried heating the Vestratto logo as a warm-up for 8 sec before heating the tip normally to just before the click. I didn't notice much of difference. Perhaps if I heat the logo area exclusively until just before the click 🤔.... I'll try a few things.
I do that too. First heat up I make sure I favor the letters

I've got the Wand pretty much locked in at 600 degrees until time out. I wanted the slowest heat possible with the Wand - so it was about finding the right temperature to get it to time out, for the 1he and the AVB roast that I want, without having to count flashes or listen for clicks.

Makes for a pretty amazing one-hitter, I find it quite different to when I'm heating it with a Ronxs torch, which I use on a single flame, heating just above the dots while rotating.
How far in are you inserting your device and from what side?

I put the Tornado in from the top and never get errors. I'm inserting it pretty deep - I can only juuust see the dots on the cap.

Inductor progression. I like the 26W setting. Heating is very quick, a 1 second blast here and there and you can surf the Tornado's heat retention.
With the inductor you can heat directly over the holes. That's my favorite spot now.

I have gone as low as the thinnest part but right now I'm experimenting with only going down to the section with the logo. I keep it between there and the top edge of the thickest part of the oven. I set the Inner flame to the length of the entire oven plus the clicker, and heat with a gap between the tip of the inner flame and the oven of about a half inch. I would say I'm getting quicker, denser extractions that hit a little harder. Possibly better flavor and a more thorough roast at a similar temp, not sure yet.

Edit: that flame size is just a carryover from my stationary tech though, definitely going to be pumping it up in future experiments
How?! When I heated halfway up the bowl with my Firefox only a quarter of the way turned up and it combusted. The flame wasn't even half the length you're describing. I tried a larger flame lower down initially. I have now combusted twice, wasted half a gram, and honestly ruined my mood. How do I even get one nice session out of this damn thing?

If you torch, don't torch into the holes.

Here's a pic with the area I was referring to marked just to be sure it's clear.

I also only heat until the first click. If your herb is really dry you may have to be more careful with how much heat you put in and your draw speed to avoid going too hot. If you pack it too tightly, the heat will not be transferred to the herb properly due to the reduced airflow through it. It may also be from your click discs being fresh and needing to break in.
