You are not alone but that does not mean there are many others. S&B is not sharing any details and the internet is notoriously populated with unhappy customers while the happy ones stay quiet. All vapes break/malfunction, some more than others. I have not seen many reports in the last few months so S&B seem to have gotten this largely under control. I doubt they will try and charge for repairs unless you have mishandled the unit. It is under warranty and they have a good reputation for servicing those devices that go bad. They may try to charge you for shipping, I'd push back if that happens.
So you were correct, S&B honored the warranty and replaced my third unit with no questions asked nor explanation given, lol. Received my replacement days ago. Once again, I've fallen in love with the Venty (when it's good, it's great). I feel like I'm in a relationship with a beautiful, crazy woman lol. I have to repeat how great this unit is when it works...the 04 Error messages have been infuriating though. However, the company has stood by their warranty... 3 RMAs in less than a year though! There's no better vape for my use case so...I'm stuck with this crazy bih

OK, so it caught up with me. E04 RMA submittted. Vacation flight on Nov 16, let's see if I need to pack an alternative. But I think close to two weeks should be sufficient time to get me a new one (I'm 200 miles from the factory :-)

I suggest that we start putting half a dozen data when we post an error04... just to see if there is a pattern...
Nothing too extensive... for example:
1-number of hours of use and type of use including temp
2-date and place of purchase - old unit? (I don't know how to know this, but for example, my first one didn't have streaks on the outside of the bowl, close to the oring)
3-frequency and type of charging...

my first ERR04.. 1st venty
1. almost 100hrs at 190º 6/7 bowls per day...only on venty...i use others
2. LCV 02/01/2024 I think it's one of the first ones after the launch shock
3. fast charging on 80% of the times 1charge/day

is this thing on?
What is the warranty for the Venty, 24 or 36 months? If it fails inside the warranty, it gets replaced. What happens after the warranty? Do they repair it? How did they handle it in the past?

2 years, 3 if registered on S&B website. Would have to have folks with older S&B product experience to share what has happened to them.

I got my RMA back a few weeks ago and feel exactly the same way! Cheers!

Look at this!...My Venty remained on for more than 8 minutes with the temperature at 210c... I'll describe how it happened but this is not my usual way of using it, I generally always use it at 190c and only boost for two final hits.
But this time...5 minutes ago, I filled the bowl and turned it on at my base temp190c and then put it on boost at 210c right after.
airflow at 1... and I was vaping for over 5 min... small hits. It was then that I started to find it strange... the greens were finished and the device wouldn't turn off!... always at 210c
I started counting the time... I emptied it... after 2.30 minutes I decided to put it on superboost and finally after 90 seconds (4 minutes on the timer) it turned off.
There was no error and it seems to be working well...I'm going to use it again now...I'm going to lower the boost to 195c to see if the same thing happens
Has anyone gone through the same thing??

That’s odd. The last update gave us the ability to boost without the 90 second cutoff, and just like in base temp mode, hitting it occasionally resets the timer, both big improvements. But not turning off, if you aren’t taking any occasional hits, seems strange?

Venty's mouthpiece "mouth" is so wide it's almost like a flute, maybe you waved the Venty a bit while doing your stuff and the sensor took it like you made a hit, no shutdown.
