I have the original pipe type vapour genie, it was the first one I got and it made a huge difference. I got it because I was smoking to much and got a cough, I had it for a few years non stop and after using this and cutting down on smoking it got a lot better. I got the VG just to try out what vaping was like and it was cheap. You can use tobacco in it fine, if you don't mind the smell of tobacco it doesn't really matter, you will not get much visible vapour from tobacco unless you scorch it death, but you get the flavour pretty strong, but any tobacco smell will go after you use some herb pretty much straight away. Weed people get so tripped out about tobacco, chemically the two plants are very similar apart from one has nicotine and one thc , nicotine is actually really not to bad for you if your not smoking it, probably not to much worse than caffeine.
Anyway as a start vaporizer it is great, I must of saved a few hundred pounds on medication in the first few months of having it, allowing me to save up and get a Iolite, I wanted something I could use outdoors if it was windy which is the only downside of the VG, your reliant on the flame being still. I find you get great economy with the genie, you can use tiny amounts and always be able to get it to vaporize, with a bit of practice, where as the Iolite, I find it really needs to be filled up completely to work well.
I would advise everyone thinking of trying vaping to get one of these, as it's cheap, will pretty much last for ever unless you throw it off a cliff or something, there is nothing to go wrong on it, it produces the nicest tasting vapour out of any vaporizer I have tried, but that is only 3, the VG, Iolite and the Puffit, which got opened today then repacked and is getting sent back to the shop for smelling like a bucket of chlorine .
