Vaporbrothers VB2

I know (almost, since you spent more) exactly how you feel. I love this thing and miss it terribly when it is out for service. The EVO gives great concentration hits, but not like this.

Did your unit not come with a similar warranty or is it different because you're in Hawaii?

I am not quite sure. I believe it comes with at least one year but I didn't purchase anything additional like the 2 year warranty.

I thought I saw on their page that I would have to pay since I am in Hawaii but can't seem to find it. I know they are revamping their website but I am still unclear where I saw it.

They are good at replying so I'll find out for sure soon.

I didn't have to purchase it. Everyone got it with the regular purchase. You probably did, too, although I'm not sure. Maybe things are different with the shipping, IDK. Hope you get your problem solved quickly (and cheaply).

So yesterday as I was jumping down from the bed of my pickup, I slipped and fell on some ice. I was in a ton of pain so I went and saw the doc and he said I cracked several ribs. He prescribed pain pills but THC works SO much better for me. Man was I glad to have the VB2 waiting at home to dab my pain away!

Then...disaster! After a few hours of dabbing, my VB2 finally died. It almost seems like both heaters are dead because it just doesn't heat up enough to vaporize anything at all. The ceramic disc is very dirty but no burn-off is coming off the unit now.

I contact Vapor Brothers 2 days ago through their website warranty form but have heard nothing back yet. How long does it usually take to hear back? I REALLY need my VB2 in working condition now more than ever!

I always e-mail "support@vaporbrothers.com" and the response is always prompt, with a shipping tag always following at the end of business that day. Try that one. Since you're close to CA it shouldn't be much turnaround time. It's usually only a week total for me.

Thank you, I just tried that too. How well do you have to clean the ceramic part of the unit before shipping? I guess I should get it all ready to ship so when the tag comes through I'm ready.

Sorry to hear about your physical and device troubles.

After 2 weeks, my switch started failing in which I got a response to my email within a day. The person had to forward my email to their R&D department and then the next day, I got a response.

Two weeks later, my heater fails and I am at the point where my email was forwarded to the R&D department.

That was 2 days ago and didn't hear anything yet...im assuming today.

So, I guess 2 days is normal...in my case at least.

I clean the unit thoroughly, taking off the rubber part, scrape off the hardened residue with a razor and finish with alcohol, fine steel wool, and paper towels. There's usually some stains left around the ring at the bottom where the heater is and the ceramic disc normally rests that I can't get out but that doesn't seem to be a problem. Hope your pain gets better and your VB2 gets fixed soon. It's always a bummer to be without it.

How long does it usually take for folks here to get a UPS drop tag after contacting VB for support?

I asked for warranty repair on Monday and still don't have one. I waited a couple days after contacting VB through their website and then when my second heater died I contacted them again. At that point I received an email in response to my first contact telling me to send my VB2 in at my own expense.

I mentioned that I thought I would get a UPS tag so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping. I heard back today and VB said to provide them with my shipping address and they would get me a UPS tag. I figured they would have my address from my VB2 registration and they'd just send a tag right out. All the info was there for them to send me a tag on Monday and these back-and-forth emails are wasting a lot of time.

It certainly seems like VB is going to take care of me, but not in the fast and efficient way I thought they would based on @vaporbrothers posts here on FC. It's been almost 4 days since I first contacted them and still no UPS tag. I was hoping for super fast service since I've only been able to enjoy my $700 investment for 2 weeks before it broke.

Using that email address, I think it's always been a same-day/one-day wait for me. I let them know that the thing needs to come in and then the tag shows up at the end of business that day. Then I drop it off at UPS the following morning. Hopefully your experience is only like this the first time. Good luck.

That sounds like the experience I was expecting for sure.

Just wanted to update. I received my label yesterday and will be dropping off my VB today.

They are also sending me a loaner again in the meantime while i wait for my repair. I truly appreciate this since I can keep medicated on that VB level.

I am extremely pleased the way they are working with me. I've looked and scoured the internet like crazy and seriously couldn't find anything that can top it so Im happy they are helping me maintain this beast. During all of this, I went back to my old setup and just don't feel as satisfied.

That voodoo magic in the VB I tell you!

@vaporbrothers : When I send my unit in next week for repair, is it possible to adjust (doubling the time, if possible) the time before auto-shutoff? I think it would extend the life of my unit a bit since once in a while my session including self-cleaning lasts more than the one power cycle.

I had my timer extended to 30 min,
I'm going for 1 hour this time. I wish they would send me a loaner as well when my unit fails. And I have to pay to ship mine in. This is like some people get special attention or something. I must admit that the performance of this thing is unparalleled, but since i purchased this unit they've had it in they're possession more than I have. That loaner thing is the best I've heard because I've been without my unit constantly. The sad part of it is I promised my wife i wouldn't buy anymore vaporizers after this one. Now I'm without this one so often it's like I never bought one. I want to buy a Dnail so bad to back this thing up, or VICE VERSA! It seems Vapor Brothers only solution for these failing heaters is continuous bandaid services

I know the exact same feeling. Had my unit for a span of 2 weeks at a time and now without again.

I wanted the most efficient concentrate device and found it but apparently it comes with special factors. They do say this device is in a stage where they need feedback. I mean, my unit is #007.

With the loaner, im assuming since they have a vb2.5 loaner. Thats the actual serial number on it, vb2.5-loaner. Maybe could be a factor or maybe my vb2.5 heater could take longer to repair? i know the electronics should be the same but only vb truly knows.

i was thinking of a dnail as well before and during this broken stage but cant help to think it would be just like my backup rig that i upgraded from.

Im hoping they can dial it in throughout time so its close to bullet proof.

We can either ditch the vb and its epic level of vaporizing or stick with it and tolerate the issues.

Ive decided to stick with it and have my backup on standby.

Eventually they will dial it in...

Yeah, I'm sticking, just talking shit!
I need a backup now, maybe another vb2, i can't justify the price of the VB2.5 as long as i have 3kids at home all under 15. I need two VB2 units! Right now i have top shelf concentrates just sitting here. I have the EVO, but it's just not the same.

One thing I'm sure of is that you don't need to be paying for shipping, Cannabis Connoisseur. That's bound to add to your irritation.

Unfortunately, it's probably not at all feasible to have loaners for the VB2 since they are prone to fail so much quicker and there are likely so many more out there than the VB2.5.

Here's hoping that Vaporbrothers has a breakthrough before I have to buy a new warranty in a year and a half or so.

For reference I counted how many power cycles my VB2's last life. It was 40 between 11/27 and 12/18. This seems to be more or less standard for mine.

I've been thinking it would be nice to have a backup unit too. But I'd want the VB 2.5 if I bought another and then I'd have nearly $2,000 invested between the two units.

Since the only reason I'd need a backup is for the time it is in the shop, I think it would be great to get a substantial discount on the VB 2.5 if you already own the VB 2.

Vapor Brothers wouldn't have to do as many repairs since the use is spread out over 2 units instead of just one. They's save money on warranty service and the people who plunk down the big cash for both units would be rewarded with a nice discount.

As for me, I was finally sent a UPS tag on Friday at 4pm. It was too late to mail on Friday and with the 4-day UPS ground shipping it wouldn't have arrived at Vapor Brothers until xmas eve. I went ahead and paid for USPS shipping myself and it was only $9 to get it to Vapor Brothers on Monday via 2 day shipping.

I've done everything I can do expedite things and am hoping Vapor Brothers will be kind enough to return it before xmas.

I want to give Linus at @vaporbrothers a big thank you for his help this week.

I know he was busy with Emerald Cup aftermath and that a VB 2.5 usually takes 2-4 weeks to build. But he made the time to talk to me and find a way to ship me a new VB 2.5 today! It should arrive by xmas eve and I'm really looking forward to it after being without my VB2 for a week or so.

I know I've been a little impatient lately, but that's because I'm in a good deal of pain right now and the VB2 really is the only device I've found that medicates me properly. I promise my mood will improve with the arrival of my VB 2.5. :ko:

Hopefully now that I own both a VB 2 and a VB 2.5 I'll never have to be without one of these amazing wax converters again!

I am so glad to hear that Vapor Bros is maintaining the great CS that they have always had....
Unfortunately, I have had to shelve my VB 2.0.
When it works it is by far the best desktop device for concentrates, but I have had the heater failures that everyone is talking about and with my rigorous travel schedule for work it is not feasible for me to have so much down time in between warranty repairs.
I love this device and have much respect for Vapor Bros and I hope that they are able to keep up the great work!

Is there anyone on here Who has another type of Enail to contrast the VB2 to?

I was wondering that too. I use a really nice enail setup (2 actually) with a good temp controller and a Liger V2.0 banger with a SiC or Quartz insert. With this I can dab some super tasty low temp dabs. plus it is super reliable even when I leave in turned on all weekend. BUT considering how much I drop on concentrates if this gave me a much different experience I would consider adding the VB2.5 into the lineup as well. Any Hybrid enail owners have this too? I'm wondering if it is worth owning both and adding this to my lineup on top of this already amazing setup? One enail has a quartz insert and one has a SiC at different temps for different flavor profiles ;)

Wow, that's the setup I'm thinking of grabbing for a backup for when my VB2 needs repair! What type of Enail are you using? I was debating what enail i want, but I'm definitely looking at the Liger 2.0 with those inserts! I wonder how they compare to my VB2 experience!
