Wonder what's the temperature when it is at 8...

Does any one have like a rough estimate of what the temperature is like across the dial?

I've often wondered the same thing. It'll be interesting to see if anyone knows. Linus, perhaps?

Would a temperature gun work to tell you the temperature of the heating element? I'm curious...

Perhaps. But when you take a drag, the temperature will be less than the heating element so maybe won't get the accurate readings.

VaporWarehouse had a diagram featured on their Facebook page. It doesn't show the range for 8:00. Looks like 9:00 is the lowest. I thought I read somewhere that the calibration on all the Vaporbros vapes may vary slightly making someone's 10:00 another person's 11:00.

IMO, that image is NOT correct. Everyone's vaporizer will be a little different. Especially older models compared to brand new ones. Vapor Bros has been around since 1999, I believe. I first used one in 2003, & it looked the same as it does now. The heating element was different back then though. Also, this is a general 'box vape' diagram, of which I do not really put Vapor Brothers in that category. Either way, this is very incorrect/vague, for the most part. I know one thing though, 12oclock on my newest VB is well above 350F, I can tell you that!:nope::2c::peace:

I contacted VaporWarehouse about that diagram. They claim is was taken from the Vaporbrothers instruction manual that ships with all current Vaporbrothers models.

I just ordered a Coffee Hands free along with Glass EZ Change Whip.

I nabbed the cosmetic imperfect one, going for 149.99.

Should be here in 2-3 days. I'm psyched to sit back and puff some huge clouds!

What's up moon-men? Just finished my Vapor Brothers hands free review, and I felt the need to quickly apologize to the Vapor Brothers company publicly. Everyone on here is at a different point in their "vaping career" and I'll be the first to admit I'm learning with each vape I review. My first vape was the Topoo Vaporizer, and I thought it was the absolute BEES KNEES (mostly because I'd never vaped before).

After using the Vapor Brothers unit, or even just picking it up; I felt extremely guilty about supporting a cheap knockoff. There's NO comparison between the original box-vape and knockoff's; here's the main differences you'll notice spending the extra money on the Vapor Brothers model:

1.) You don't need to burn off any chemicals
- Most companies state that burning off "packaging oils" is necessary before your first vape. While I do this with all my products, the Topoo Vaporizer filled my room with nasty, black fumes that smelled like pure cancer. The Vapor Bro's unit was ready to go out of the box.

2.) You get what you pay for
- I originally saw the resemblance and thought, "Wow, this one is $150 cheaper than the Vapor Bro's." If something is too good to be true, it usually is. The Vapor Bro's vape just felt completely different. It had a nicer weight, a MUCH higher quality wood, and the heating element, along with the accessories are pure ceramic (this thing isn't going to get hot enough to make ceramic toxic... save it).

3.) Warranty
- If for some strange reason your dog decides to eat your vape, you've got piece of mind that it'll be replaced. Okay, not really... but seriously, those cheap-ass china knockoffs are made with the cheapest materials possible. There's no way knowing what I know now, that you can convince me that a $30 desktop vape is worth my money. The Vapor Bro's vape comes with a lifetime warranty.

Enough of me blabbing, here's the flick... hope you enjoy:

i love my vapor bros.i have had mine since they switched over to the new heaters.as far as these box style vapes vaper bros is KING IMO.i now only use it in the car at work (i have a extreme Q for the house now)so i can vape on breaks.not exactly "portable" but does the job.for those wondering i got one of those converters that plugs into the ciggarette lighter and makes it into a house style outlet.
anybody looking at getting a box style vape just spend the money and get the vapor bros.

I get tired of hearing about the VB lifetime warranty. It's not lifetime. Warranty repair means there's no cost to the customer other than shipping. If the parts warranty differs in coverage period from the labor, it's specified. If not, the coverage period applies to parts and labor. In this case, you only get free repair for a maximum of two years. After that you pay for repair, so at best it's a discounted repair.

Unregistered owners:
For a period of 1 year after the purchase date, we will repair and return vaporizers at our expense, with no charge to the customer. Between 1 year and 2 years, Vaporbrothers will charge $10. PROOF OF PURCHASE IS REQUIRED FOR UNREGISTERED OWNERS. If you don't have proof of purchase we will charge a $35 flat fee, so be sure to file your receipt in a safe place.

Registered owners:
For a period of 2 years after the purchase date, we will repair and return vaporizers at our expense, with no charge to the customer. No proof of purchase is required for registered owners.

Between 2 and 5 years after purchase, Vaporbrothers will charge a $35 flat fee for all Registered and Unregistered owners. The flat fee covers repair, replacement parts, automatic upgrades, and return shipping.

Hi, wow, darnit Max, I do love your honest posts and they definitely ring a bell, so here's my best answer so far. In the legaleze of business law it is indeed a "limited lifetime warranty," although we take it far beyond that in practice.

It's true if I'm shopping I expect a defective item to be replaced for free, but I'm talking about big companies that make serious money above the manufacturing cost. Although in my experience they rarely honor their warranties anyway. This makes me feel a little ill though, sorry to mention, that we're extending ourselves so far financially to take good care of customers while nearly all the competition claims to have "a __year warranty" yet they charge high dollar amounts to actually accomplish the repair. I'm asking my folks to check other companies' warranties tomorrow- not just what the companies say, but what it actually costs for a typical repair, say if you dropped your vaporizer and broke the glass around the heater. Last time we checked, nobody will fix that without taking upwards of $50. I'll update you with what we find. In my opinion our closest competitor, bless their hearts, charges an appropriate amount for their warranty service of $100 or $150 depending on the term. That's closer to what it actually costs to repair a unit, although it basically ensures you pay the money whether your vaporizer died or not. We charge $0, $10, and $35 at most... just as a reminder. Most of that spent on handling and return shipping.

Our warranty means a lot btw- it means we will be human beings (not disappear), that we'll repair the unit correctly & quickly, that we likely will trash the insides and completely replace the electronics with the latest designed ceramic heater + temp control, that we will fix it even if you sank it in a pool, used it too hard or broke it accidentally (we go way beyond "factory defects"). Even if your vaporizer is considered unrepairable by us or you did something that clearly voided the warranty (alterations & intentional abuse) we will help you out with a brand new unit and accessories at approx half the retail price, effectively undercutting and pissing off all of our distributors who are aware that we do this. We take a serious cut to our company to do this for our customers- not just in what's spent, but in our relationship strained with sellers who expect us to charge like any other profit minded company should.

As for the wording... I think I should tell people to say "limited lifetime warranty" because that is the full title. The warranty is a legal document between us and the customer. The fine print limits our obligation to a 5 year lifetime of the unit (not your lifetime of course) but in practice we fix vaporizers way outside that range, and of course, offer the half price new vaporizer to people whose units go back to 1999. We tend to do whatever makes the customer satisfied. Since we don't do any marketing to speak of, all our effort goes into making the product good so that the customers will tell others.

That's enough info for now but there's a ton more... like what happens if our repair is not successful (you get a new vap) and what we did for the person whose boat sank off Hawaii..

Sorry for all this explanation but let me know what you think.

I have mucho respect for the Vapor Brothers warranty. I think they come pretty damn close to Magic Flight, in a) the personal service you receive and b) that personal service comes with a "human being".

I've run into more Vapor Brother's owners in my travels to different areas of Southern and Central Valley California, LHS and Dispensaries. The only person I know that was ignorant of the warranty, was the guy that Linus and others probably would have loved to hear from. He has one of the original units. It eventually stopped working and he just stuck it in a closet. I told him he was crazy. VB would LOVE to see that unit, I told him. I know for a fact, they take pictures of the old units that come thru, the customs and beaters. That's how much they dig seeing their products out there. Then they leave there, working better than ever, with their custom work still intact (within reason)

All the others I've met, that need it, have or plan on getting their VBs "refurbished/upgraded" to more recent hardware... something else VB does for a very reasonable cost. Heck, they upgraded one guy's VB for free, because it was such an old and out-dated unit they wanted to see if they could turn it into a retro rocket. Mission accomplished and for the price of postage.

I don't think I've seen another company, so interested in how/what/why people are using their products.

Cloud died on me last night so I got creative and broke out the old Vaporbrothers from 2008. Busted out some new tubing and paired it with the Mobius 65t. I didn't know what to expect and wasn't sure how the old box would hold up.

It kicked ass! I was surprised at how well the Vaporbrothers heating element held up against my long draws, but it performed better than my UD and all my portables through water. While I'm not sure it will hold me over the 6-8 weeks that it will take for the Cloud to be repaired, but it certainly impressed me last night and continues through today.

Solid unit that has stood up against the test of time and rough use. Highly recommended, it'll last you years.

If you have this heater, which I think you do, it's the all-ceramic element (aka natural mineral) and works as well as what we're making now. In the last 4 years we've improved but not really in ways that you'd see. If/when you send your unit for the $35 repair you'll get a little more reliability and ruggedness in the temperature control and better resistance to liquids spilled inside.

On the subject of upgrade, we're toying with the thought of giving people custom LED colors when they ask. Might be around $50 extra & 4 weeks to get a vap converted. Would people want this?

~Thanks for your reply. No need for repairs, and I don't feel the need for LED colors, but it's good to know you're out there when we need you.

Just thought I would put in a good word for Vaporbrother's. It has been my main vape for the past six years and has stood up to heavy use with no decline in function. Great taste, efficiency, versatility and affordability. No downsides. I love the ez change whips too. Always having a clean screen makes for a better vaping experience all around.

I'm seriously lookin at this vape for sitting and watching TV. I too own a cloud, its an impressive unit when they work. Unfortunately, seems to still have several bugs that compromise its reliability. I'm scared to death that my unit will just quit functioning at any time. Therefore, I would like to try one of these units out to have a comparable backup and for sitting/TV sessions. The extreme q is rather a joke and I have given it away.

Where are you purchasing these Vb's from? I'm not seeing direct purchasing from VB themselves.

Vaporwarehouse has done me right over the years. Very reliable, fast service. http://Vaporwarehouse.com/site/vaporbrothers-vaporizers.html
As for the box itself, it just fucking works, and keeps working. Perfect for watching TV because it is silent and really lends itself to long super smooth draws. Doesn't pull you away from the action and allows you to pack a decent size bowl so you don't have to change it out right away. I think you'll be happy.

a few days ago i gave the EQ to a friend who i thought didn't have any vapes.. then yesterday i noticed they had 2 box/whip ones collecting dust.. apparently no one liked them.. so i asked if it was OK if i took one as a back-up for my UD.. it was OK.. i think one was a knock-off, but it belonged to some one else.. i got the one that belonged to my friend, and it happened to be a VB.. it was a trippy coincidence, because i was just looking at this thread when Venomous posted.. wondering whats up w/ these.. ha how random.. since my friends aren't into vaping what are the odds it would be a VB.

i like it a lot.. it's much simpler and to the point compared to the EQ.. i have been using it on its side.. its just awkward for me to use it how it sits. heat up is nice and quick.. this thing preforms solid.. the glass mouth piece is perfect for a 14mm female water piece.. i need to change that PVC hose though haha.. the EQ is much more a group friendly vape, because you can set it up and leave it.. i like it for that... but for by myself vaping, i don't mind detaching and reattaching it after each hit.. i kind of prefer to.. in case i lose track of time:ko: i put it at noon and so far haven't found a need to adjust. the VB fits my home needs better than the EQ.. and the EQ fits better where it went..

both the VB and that EQ went to a better home.. except for one person, no one else at my friend's house has an interest to vape.. until the EQ bag comes around, and until the EQ is hooked up to the bong.. hah pretty soon it's:zzz:, not bad considering "vaping doesn't work".. or so i'm told:rolleyes:

here's a pic of the rescued VB by the UD.. these 2 work horses happen to go pretty nice together.. so much for a "back-up" vape... the VB will be my bigger session vape

i think the vb would be a nice vape for you to switch it up to now and then.. can't imagine it replacing the cloud though.. i'd say the whip probably doesn't hold much more than an ELB.. i'm sure you will like this vape though.. it's simple and straight forward.. this seems like a good chillin out watching tv, vape.. this is the best box/whip vape i have used so far.. very quality, i can't say anything bad about it.. it's making me happy, and it definitely gets the job done.. besides a new vape is just fun haha.. i'm proud to have a vape from a company w/ a reputation like VB.. only thing is that upward angle heater.. iv'e never understood that
